Moderation:@gorvachov13, I'm going to issue you an official warning. I'm not really sure what your angle is here, but all you've done so far is go out of your way to personally attack Tunmi and otherwise attempt to discredit his character. Pointing out factual details for the sake of being informative is 1 thing. Speculating on someone's thoughts and personal life (while throwing shots and accusations around) for the sake of being inflammatory, however, is not okay, and we don't tolerate that sort of negative behavior here on the forum.

Moderation:@bradp: I'm issuing you a caution here. As others have already pointed out, blatantly dropping spoilers such as this one (without any sort of clear-cut warning) is not cool. Furthermore, it also goes against one of our guidelines.Forum Guidelines wrote:5. Please consider others when you post. While some users do not mind having game details discussed at length, others do not want their experience spoiled. As such, we ask that you clearly mark any game info that could constitute a spoiler with some sort of text which denotes it as such. While I understand that you may be excited to share what you've found out upon reading this book, there are those who would rather figure these sorts of endings and plot twists out on their own. Dropping crucial details here without any sort of prior warning is pretty inconsiderate towards others. Therefore, I am requesting that you edit both the title and first post of this thread, to clearly indicate that it contains spoilers. Please do so ASAP. Additionally, please keep this in mind when divulging spoilers in the future.

Re: data dump from a braillenote apex

Moderation:Stasp, I'm going to go ahead and issue a warning here. For reference:Rules wrote:3. The sharing or encouragement of illegal material or activities (game cracks, copyrighted torrents that are not free to use, etc.) is not allowed. Not only can this hurt our community, but it can also lead to potential legal complications. This also means you should take care when discussing the methods by which you might crack a game or program, and should not make any efforts to undermine anyone's security or livelihood. We cannot stop you pirating software or downloading illicit music, movies and books through other sources, but we ask that you not do it here, and not encourage others to do it either. If links to any material not hosted here at audiogames.net are provided, we cannot endorse their safety or legality, so please consider carefully. This is a rule we take very seriously. As a side note: intent will be taken into account when citing the invocation of this rule, as will a user's prior history. Someone who is discussing security flaws in an attempt to help improve them, or in a general conversation about security, is very likely not intending malice and, so long as they don't provide tools for others to cause harm, they will not be punished. In cases where users have demonstrated a willingness to crack software or share illegal material, however, or in cases where clear support of piracy is evident, this rule may be enforced. As others have already pointed out, the fact that you requested someone to relay the illegitimate materials in question via discord (as opposed to AudioGames.net) is of little relevancy here. You made the post here, so it's still subjected to this forum's rules and guidelines. Asking instead of distributing doesn't prevent you from being as guilty as someone performing the ladder task.Furthermore, the reason that you're receiving a warning and not a caution in this case has to do with intent and context. Your initial post  implies that you were under the impression that requesting and distributing of elicit content may potentially be against the rules, yet you opted to do so anyway.TL;DR: We can't (and won't) control your ability to discuss and utilize illegitimate materials elsewhere, but the moment you bring that to this forum is when it becomes an issue.

Some of their reasons are valid; others I think not so much. I'm not going to claim that I'm perfect, given that I'm far from it. Regardless, I knew what I was signing up for. I was very much aware that taking on the position of AudioGames.net forum moderator would initially consist largely of proving myself to others. Hi Mitch,I'm going to answer both of your questions in 1 post, so as to avoid double posting.Mitch wrote:Quick question. Is there a cheaper version that doesn't come with an LCD screen, as that screen doesn't really matter that much to me.No. I do realize that the LCD screens aren't useful for individuals such as ourselves, but they are actually pretty sweet upgrades for sighted users. Therefore, it's assumed that everyone will desire them.Mitch wrote:Okay, so the loopback has gotten me sold on the m2. Helpful for me so I can just mix my audio before the stream starts. Is any of the software that comes with it accessible? I know that Big Fish Audio's plug-ins are NKS accessible, but I'm not sure if those can be used without Performer  Lite.Unfortunately, I can't yet attest to the accessibility (or potential lack their of) of the M2's companion software. I plan on reaching out to Motu and other audio interface manufacturers in an attempt to nullify this gray area, but haven't done so yet. Regardless, going with the M2 over the Scarlet lineup is already an improvement, as the M2 actually retains a full set of analog controls (as opposed to the Scarlet), which has shifted a lot of the essential functions to their software.Regarding your concern about plugin accessibility/compatibility, bundled plugins typically exist as regular VST's, meaning that you "should" be able to import them in your DAW of choice and control their parameters as you would any other VST.Good luck!

Re: Looking for some recommendations on Usb/XLR microphones

Here's what I recommend:Microphone: Audio Technica AT2035 - I've been using this mic in my studio for years and regardless of which vocalist I put in front of it, it has never let me down. It's smooth, quiet, and best of all pretty cheap!Audio Interface: Motu M2 - Previously I would've definitely recommended the Focusrite Scarlet series, but their latest generation of interfaces has shifted a lot of the functionality into their software, which is anything but accessible. The M2 is around the same price, has better preamps, and has an actual on/off switch on it. Cool, right? If you are dead set on a dynamic microphone, I would recommend either the Shure SM58 or the Shure SM7B. I realize that the ladder recommendation is significantly more expensive, but if you're looking to invest in a longterm microphone that will handle anything you throw at it this is definitely the way to go!It's worth noting, however, that these dynamic mics are considered passive, and so you will have to drive your preamps pretty hard to get a good signal out of them. The Motu M2 interface that I recommended above has good enough preamps to where doing this won't introduce large amounts of noise into your recordings, but I'd still recommend that you pick up a mic activator if you go the dynamic route, so that you can ease off on the input gain even more. My personal recommendation would be to go with the FetHead by Triton Audio.Let me know if you have any other questions!

Re: Recording Music: Need Help

Hi Jayde,I don't know much (or anything) about the FP7F, but my personal recommendation would be to use a Digital Audio Workstation (DAW) such as REAPER, to record your piano-playing as MIDI through a VST. There are significant benefits to doing this over your original idea of recording raw audio, including, but not limited to:* The ability to edit notes later on, should you wish to make alterations to your composition. Using REAPER's builtin MIDI editor, you can change the length, timing, velocity, and even add/remove notes without having to re-record the piece from scratch.* The ability to switch pianos later or replace it completely with another instrument, without having to re-record anything. Want to turn your composition into a modern synth version? No problem! Additionally, there are some really nice VST's out there that sample high-end grand pianos and sound heavenly.* The ability to quantize your music (making sure every note is exactly on beat, not too fast or too slow, etc).I'm not sure as to whether or not your keyboard comes with MIDI inputs and outputs, so that may be something worth researching. If it does come with MIDI ports, you can either buy an audio interface that has MIDI I/O included and use MIDI cables going from your keyboard and into the interface, or buy a MIDI to USB cable that plugs directly from your keyboard into your computer. If your keyboard is more modern, it may come with a different MIDI USB port, which will just connect from the keyboard directly to your computer, using a different type of USB cable. If all else fails, you may want to consider picking up a relatively-cheap MIDI controller (something like the Komplete Kontrol A25 or Komplete Kontrol M32), and work with that, as those definitely come with a MIDI USB port as well as an included cable. From reading your profile I gather that you also live in Ontario, so all of the products that I've mentioned (minus the VST's), can be picked up at your local Long & McQuade location.Good luck!

Re: Accessible Home Recording Studio Setup

@nikosdemetriouReaper does come with midi support, and a good looking one at that. It doesn't really come with its own instruments, except for ReaSynth which is just used as a getting started vst and ReaSampler, their own builtin in sampler. If you're using midi, I suggest buying a keyboard/midi controler. I'm using a Yamaha PSRE443 right now with Reaper, but those are a bit pricey so you might just want to buy a normal midi controler. As long as you're using an external audio interface for your output device and are using the Asio driver with a good value for buffering you should be good as far as delay goes.If you want more explanation, feel free to hit me up personally or post back here! Thanks!

Hello! For those, and I know there are a lot of people out there, who don't have the money nore the time to obtain Cakewalk Sonar, I use a much cheaper and lightweight solution that works as good if not better. You don't need 2 soundcards, just need 1 builtin computer soundcard and an external audio interface. Setup Reaper with ReaAccess, piping all Reaper sounds through the audio interface while having the wrest of your computer sounds going through your builtin computer soundcard. You can use control surfaces, vst controlers, midi controlers, etc with Reaper. I've been doing it for quite a while now, and am around to answer any questions people may have. Just PM me, I can't promiss that I'll reply right away though. Thanks!

Re: Midi.

I gotcha! I do the same thing a lot of hip-hop/trap.Currently I'm using a Yamaha PSRE443 as a midi controler. It's not an actual dedicated midi controler, but more of a fully feature ritch keyboard with a USB cable port that you can buy and plug into your computer to have direct midi.Though it's nice, it doesn't come with drum pads and often when making beats that require really fast highhats/claps, I'll do it by hand within the daw. However, if there's something I can recommend is the Novation Noctern. It's a great controler. If I remember, it has 25 keys but they also have models with more keys, as well as 8 drum pads. The best thing of all, however, is that it comes packaged with automap 4, so if you're using a daw like reaper where certain plugins aren't accessable to manipulate, you get 8 nobs as well as page up and down keys that communicate with automap and let you change them with ease.It supports quit
e a few daws as well, so don't fear that you absolutely have to use reaper mind you I do recommend it!If you have any more questions feel free to post here.-Dgleks

If you're just looking to record from keyboards, I'd definately recommend Reaper as your DAW. It's amazing, lightweight, and doesn't require you buy it to get a full version. If you just want a keyboard, I recommend the YamahaPSRE443. It comes with hundreds upon hundreds of builtin sounds, songs and beat padderns, and it also supports midi so you can do pretty much anything with it.

I know they ment to do what they did because I spoke to Alec. This message might answer some long waited questions.*** Begin Message ***[19/04/2015 5:18:56 PM] Alec Olson: A lot of people already know about the whole incident, but making a big production is going to make it so much more popular, which will get more people to hate him and look down on him. Revenge for all the things he did to me a couple of years ago*** End Message ***Had I been a few years younger, I myself, just maybe, wouldve thought of a similar plan. But not at the age of 15. Not at the age of 15 or 14 or 13 or heck, not even 12. These stupid jerks are at least 13 years old. That clearly goes to show just how much lack of maturity some assholes have these days.
Bill does not deserve any of this. He never will and he never did. He couldve been an asshole but if you think about it who in this world hasnt at least once? If you think, you jerks that made all this bullshit possible, think for minute, that maybe youre the assholes in this situation?I hope this post addresses some of the mysteries of this situation, and if you have any more questions feel free to post them and Ill try my best to answer them.Thanks!-Dgleks-Dglexsoft

Re: Certain people getting ignored?

Hello!I have to agree with Danny on this one.@Ethin, You and I both know I get a little frustrated when I get ignored. Thats understandable. You want people to notice you and when you get nothing you feel let down. However, like danny said, going on public forums and ranting about your situation, where you actually pointed another person who couldve posted for himself if he felt the need to do so, isnt really repping for the software company you Danny and I are all part of.This is not to make you feel like shit and for me to tell you what youre doing is wrong and to go away, its simply stating the unneeded actions taken place here. The best thing to do is to be patient. And if you dont get replies, you should be able to sit back, assured that its their loss.If I post about a MUD, software, or any other type of game here, and I get no replies, Im obviously going to be a little bit ticked off
.But I wouldnt post something like this, because itd just make the chances of people wanting to check out my shit drop like raindrops in a storm.Sometimes you just got to sit back, have a beer or whatever us kids do these days, and say Fuck it.Hell, try going out and doing things that dont exist online, like showing people how well you can swim, or how you developed a new trick on the skateboard. These are all examples, but Im clearly pointing out that if you go out in public phisicly, people would be more likely to notice you instead if youre sitting back and typing on a keyboard. Finally, with your statement, about forgetting about the past and continuing to help a person regardless, I kindof think you should take your own advice on that one.Not to sound rude or anything, but you and I both know we have had our issues in the past. Im not going to post them here, because that kind of shit should remai
n shut away between us.But I will say that those issues were years ago, and that I think you really need to move on from that too and look at that piece of advice.Im sorry if any contents of this post came of as rude or whatnot, Im simply stating my opinions.Thanks!-Dgleks-Dglexsoft

Re: My New PunBB Forum

Hi Dark.Well, actually, to be honest I never planned on opening a forum, but I was looking around Blastbay and I saw that the forum was the same as here. Then I went to the bottom of the page and found that the footer was the same as it is on here. So, I clicked the PunBB link, and read about the forum. So I thought id just test it out and see what it was like, but then wanted to create a place to chat and show the public what id done. And yeah youre right, but im not sure what other topics to put in, considering the misc topics forum pretty much covers everything.I dont exactly know why I want a forum, guess its either for my own amusement or, maybe that spark in me hasnt completely died... But yes, ill see how I can change my forum.URL: http://forum.audiogames.net/viewtopic.php?pid=175810#p175810
