software for productivity and learning? hiso I am trying to find a solution for taking notes and having them sync to my other devices. I would like a windows program or a web app which holds all of my notes, and other things like, to do tasks. I tried Evernote however I was having problems on windows as well as trying the app. has anyone used a good note taking app or service which has features like cloud storage for the notes as well as a to do list, which works well with screen readers? secondly I am also looking for a good spaced repetition app or program with flash cards. again has any one used a good one which works well for them. thanks. android phones ideas. Hi I am thinking about trying out android full time. I am thinking about a budget handset, just to get started. after doing research here is what I found. I wanted a phone with stock android or android which works well with talkback. my picksare; the Moto G 9 Power. has a big battery and it very affordable. apparently Nokia make android phones, and from what i have found out, they are highly rated for being a good budget option. finally a phone from the Samsung A line. has any one had experience with those phones. if so what do you think? thanks. If you have a smart tv with some kind of screen reader on it, you should be able to select the HDMI device. when you turn on the tv again it should automatically be connected to the tvstick. Youtube is very accessible with voice view, and if you have the voice remote searching is a piece of cake. Accessible-Coconut questions about settings and updates. hi. so I have just jumped into Linux, and grabbed Accessible-Coconut. I have been using WSL in windows to do anything Linux Related, but now wanted to try Coconut. when I got it installed it seemed okay. however I had some problems connecting to a network. I couldn't find network settings anywhere. finally I found a control centre, and an internet and network button in there. I press enter on it and press the space bar, but nothing happens. so I had to open up a terminal and connect. How would I go about using the settings, it seems when I press enter nothing happens. am I missing something here? also out of curiosity how frequently does Accessible-Coconut get updated? thanks. my android problems. hi, so lets go back to the year 2016. when i got an android tablet, i don't even know what moddle, samsung tab something. it has like 16 gigs of memory, i didn't really like old android i played around, got some apps and stuff like that. however i couldn't do anything LOL I couldn't even type. I stopped useing it, when i come back a bit layter i do some updates, then leave it when i come back it's really slow, and of course me being the android newbie i just leave it. any how today i would like to use it and at least try to learn how to use android. so, is there a way i can upgrade it, or will it get to slow. or should i install something. i was thinking the amazon kindle tablet doesn't have a lot of memory also, what if i install the operating system running on the amazon kindle, would that work?. anyway hopefully you can tell I don't know anything about android. thanks. Re: raspberry pi questions hi well it depends on what project you want to make. for some things you can just use SSH. however if you want to use it as a desktop or play around with linux. you can use Debian. you can take your micro sd card and put Debian on it. then when you set it up, you can turn on the screen reader from the boot menu. it also supports braille, then you can install other screen readers. if you are thinking of doing projects with android, you can also install android on the pi. Re: strange problem when turning on my windows 10 computer. ok so, yes, I have to do a clean re install of windows. or linux.the BME person helped me to boot from a USB. which would have a clean windows 10 iso. however my new problem is, I cant burn the ISO to the usb because the only other computer that is here. has admin ristrictions, which means i cant do a lot. lol, I might need to buy a rarsbery pi and connect a keyboard and speekers and use some accessible linux. I'm not spending money on a windows bootable USB from amazon. if anyone knows a portable options that would be nice. thanks. strange problem when turning on my windows 10 computer. hi, so i have a laptop. i havn't used it for like 3 weeks. today i turn it on, and not a lot happens, i try narrator. and I get a thing saying boot menu. i have a language solection and i press enter on UK. then i have truble shoot problems, or turn off your computer. i click truble shoot problems, and I have system recovery. and options like go back a version. I am not really sure what happened. However i might have booted into safe mode or something, because i kept pressing the on button. and trying to see light. any help would be nice. thanks. making a jimm at home? hi, so i am quite a sporty person. I try to run 6 miles a week. I also play rugby. and i will go swimming twice a week, and do the jimm 3 times a week.However, i want to try to do more work outs in my own time, by this i mean, wake up at 6, do a work out, studdy shower. food, school.This means i can do it when ever i want. moving from I O S hi, so last week my Iphone broke. I am now am thinking of leaving apple. and giving Androyd a go. I am looking for a phone that is easy to use, and that is well known, also it would be sweet if it was a budgit phone. I don't want to be needing to code my own screen reader and stuff, I just want something that just works. Bairing that in mind, what are peoples ideas about apps and screen readers? Is talkback good, or is there something better now? Re: taking care of technology @4 has said most of the things I was going to say.but also, if you want your device to stay around for a long time spend a little for that, for example now you can get very good protection for your phone for not that much. there are cases that can stop gun fire. which only cost around 15 $. sure you wont be running around in a gun fight. but think about it, if it can stop a round from a gun. it sure as hell can stop you dropping your phone and braking it. also, it's a very good idea to get a screen protecter. as for your screen it self, it's good to wipe it some times with a microfiber clof. you might say, I don't care about that weard colour on my screen, however the display senser of your phone does. your computer, also might cost a lot. so take good care of it. If you want to stand out from the croud you might want to get a computer skin, which is like a case, but much thinner and it also protect's it some what. you can get good skins from dea brand. you should also use a microfiber clof. on the display of your computer, now you will say, ilya, I don't care about my strange screen.and i will say, other people do.As a norm people don't really care if your tech is broken. however they will care if it looks all nasty. as for the keyboard if you are typing a lot. dust and grime can get into your key kaps, it doesn't look that nice. but more importantly it might brake your keyboard. or at least make it a little sluggish. you should by a small can of compressed air.they go for around 5 bucks on amazon. once a munth just spray out your keyboard. Re: Team talk server for free yep.now, really it's about how much you want it.if it's just a little thing that you will go on like a time a week, then it's ok some one else hosting it for you, because you don't really use it a lot.how ever if, you have loads of people on it, and you use it a lot, it's good to grab a vps.now i will not tell you to go and get one from, this provider, or what ever, you can do the research,but the best thing for you would to get linux,all you need to do, is set it up, then ssh into your server.if you don't under stand what that is, just give it a google,a good ssh client would be putty.or even the built in ssh client into windows 10you can get into it by just typing ssh, into the command prompt or powershell.now, if you don't know how to open that, just do, windows, + r, then type cmd.when useing the build in ssh client you do, ssh your username @the ip or the domain.so for example.ssh t...@ilya-productions.duckdns.orgthen you will press enter, and put in your password.when hosting a team talk server, you can find a bunch of guides on line about it.
