Re: Best legal ways to get audio books Not sure if this is available outside of the US, but recently, I've been using the Libby app. As long as you have a library card, you can check out books. They have both ebooks and audiobooks. while ebooks are not accessible through the app, you can have them sent to kindle, and either read them on a kindle itself, or use one of the many kindle apps. For audiobooks, the built in player works perfectly fine. The interface itself is a little strange in terms of finding books, but definitely useable. Just remember that you do not own the books, and have to return them after 14 days, or you can extend the period if you need to. You can also put books on hold if they are not available, and will get a notification when you can check out the book.TLDR, I read so many books that I needed a free way to read, and I love the whole library experience. In the meantime, I can recommend tracking your moods and emotions, and seeing if you can figure out what causes to feel the ways that you do. You could use phone apps for this, a simple computer document, or just a note on your phone. Whatever works best for you is okay. Suicide isn't the answer, even if it may seem like your only choice. Just taking the phone away from my ear has always worked for me, otherwise, there should be a speaker button on the screen, you should be able to press that and it should switch. If not, have a look in your settings, specifically maybe accessibility. Haven't used an Oppo phone, so not completely sure.2. Open your notification shade, either with the overview button, if you have that, the talkback gesture if you have that set up, or the two finger pull down from the top of the screen. There will be a clear all button. On my phone it is all the way at the bottom. I have to scroll through my notifications, and its there.3. Personally, I use nova launcher, but find them all to be fairly similar.Hope this helps. As someone who has traveled a bit, everything has pretty much been said.All I can really say is to make sure your comfortable speaking up for yourself, and say what you need. All of my solo travel has been in the US, so keep this in mind.Often times, if I ask for assistance, the immediate reaction is a wheelchair, which I don't need, and actually makes me extremely anxious. So, I know that once they start suggesting a wheelchair, or I hear them call for one, I make sure to say that I don't need one, and would prefer to walk. sometimes it takes a lot of work for them to get that, but there's only been one time that it didn't. If you prefer getting on a plane before others, make sure you preboard, if its available. They seem to do that by default, but keep an ear out for the announcements. If you feel forgotten, get up, and walk to the counter where the attendants are, and they will be able to help.Getting off the plane, you usually wait until everyone else is off, then someone will come get you. If you are comfortable, you can always walk to the front on your own, and they can help you from there. It all depends on what you need, and what your comfortable doing on your own. Since they made voice assistant, it made a bunch of apps that were fully accessible with talkback not usable with either screenreader. It's not a major thing, but when something like that happens, its just not the same. I would rather have a less heavily skinned phone too. Not necessarily pure android, but I don't need samsung apps for every little thing on the phone. I would rather have the occasional bloatware app by another company than the I think it was 6gb of samsung apps I don't need and or use. Re: your first and current phone Interesting to read these responses.I started with a Samsung Haven, not counting a bunch of older phones that really weren't used. Then An Iphone 4, an Iphone 5s, An Iphone 6, a samsung galaxy s6 which lasted for a few days, because if you know me, you know I hate samsung and it isn't android, lol. Then I switched that to an LG G4, which was really cool to use and the back was replaceable. Then, that went to a HTC 10, probably one of my favorites. After that, I got my current phone which is an LG G7 Thinq. It's a really nice phone actually. It's been two years now, and it runs great, no problems, has multiple cameras which I like, and overall, I like the OS. I did get another phone at some point, while I had my HTC, i believe, its an LG Rebel, I think. it was just meant to be a place holder since my phone broke. So, I now have another new computer, that I actually really like. It's a gaming designed desktop and its kind of nice because it's a bigger tower so its easier to work on if it needs that.For games, I've been borrowing my boyfriend's old laptop, so i've mainly been playing survive the wild. I'm hoping to be able to get back into second life now that I have more ram and hopefully also a better internet connection since this desktop has two wifi antennas, not sure if that even matters, but in my head it does. As an odd thing, I was trying to use my focus display with my computer, but I installed the drivers, and they looked like they did, but the display wouldn't show up in nvda until I also installed JAWS, which isn't a big deal since I honestly like both for different things. I'm feeling better for now, but so far, March hasn't been my month, at all. I've still been hanging around on second life, and that's been really good for me. It's helped me a lot actually, and I'm excited to see what it can do for me long term. Tomorrow is one of my favorite days of the year, Valentines day. We aren't doing anything all that special, but I still like knowing its a day about love. Other than that, I got a new kindle paperwhite a few days ago, and I'm loving it. It's no where near my first kindle, my third actually, but its my first one without a headphone jack or speakers. It's kind of nice to use that one during the day with a bluetooth headset, and my fire tablet around bedtime. I'm hoping it will let me read more books too, since I felt more limited to just audible books, but I've picked a bunch of free or cheap kindle books, not that I needed more of them, but still, its nice to have the choice. Re: Monthly chat February 2020 It's been only a day, and I've done a lot actually. Today was the puppy bowl which is my favorite day of the year. For those that don't know, its a bunch of shelter puppies put into two teams, fluff and rough, and they are supposed to carry toys around a field, and if one ends up en the endzone, its a touchdown. It's just a fun superbowl alternative that brings awareness to shelters. I ended up doing some terrible recordings for the second life topic, and that actually got me to start using Reaper. I'm planning on at least learning the basics of editing with it, but so far, its not my favorite. I'm hoping that soon I'll be able to get back into writing, as I've had a lot of trouble with that lately, but hopefully some idea will show up at some point. By the simple fact that the term is nonbinary tells me that you are not of one of the two genders. Agender is a lack of gender, meaning, no gender. Bigender is two genders. Genderfluid is moving between two genders. I could be interpreting things wrong, but even as someone who doesn't identify as cis, I see two genders, with different identities off that. Re: Any fello transgender people on here? So, I can only speak for myself on being bigender. Everyone's experience is different. For me, I feel like I am both male and female, usually at the same time. I have really bad body dysphoria, but that I will not be discussing in public because it relates to my body and well, that's not something I want in a public forum. Its basically that I feel like my brain is almost devided, not just right and left, but between the way a male brain is, and the way a female brain is. Whether it actually is or not, that's what it feels like. Inerestingly enough, when I take the SAGE test, I end up getting different results each time, not that that means anything, just something I find interesting. Being biggender doesn't usually mean though that you feel two genders at once. More commonly, its one, then another time another. @183 I hope its okay, the English word is polyamorous. As for gender being a social construct, I do agree that it is, and that it probably shouldn't be used, bbut I think that its something we use to feel like we fit in somewhere. For example, if you can't see you say that you are blind, and that puts you in a community of people like you. It's something that we use to maybe validate our experience, and find others like us. If you are female, then you have a community of other females like you. Same if you are male. I don't think its necessarily a bad thing that it is a social construct. For me, they are male and female. But since most people don't know what that is, i usually just say gender fluid, which is basically the same thing, but not necessarily for just two genders. If someone is searching for stories about being transgender, then you might find more of what you want to see from religious people saying how its horrible and anyone who transitions is a dangerous monster. That's why I try and answer what I can, the best that I can. For myself, that's how i try and live everyday though, no matter what the question refers to. If you aren't willing to answer the same question a bunch of times, how do you expect them to learn about what you have to teach other than just what they want to read on google?As for the biological thing, technically, yes. I will always have two x chromosomes, until those can be changed easily enough that I can have it done everyday, but I doubt that will happen for me. No matter what I have done to my body, I will have two x chromosomes, making me sexually a female. That does not mean though that my gender is female, okay, partly, but its not a given. You're chromosomes only determine your sex, but not your gender. Gender is more complicated, but comes down to feelings about your sex, how you see the world and in most cases that I know about, your brain structure. What gets diagnosed is body dysphoria. That's basically what it sounds like. You can be whoever you are socially, but its when you have severe body dysphoria that's what gets diagnosed as gender identity disorder, or whatever its labeled as now. Think it may have changed. Either way, Just having different traits socially definitely does not mean you are trans. Not liking the basic way you look doesn't mean you are trans. It is so much deeper than that. It's literally feeling that your body is wrong and it looks the complete opposite of how it should. At the moment, that's really all I'm able to say on the subject but if anyone is interested, I'm willing to try and explain more privately.edit: okay, finished reading. I myself am very torn on medical transition as a teenager. In some cases, I do see that it can be helpful, in extreme cases, like those that self harm at young ages. There are stories of mtf children trying to cut off their male genitals. In situations like that, I support at the least puberty blockers so that their is time for medical professionals to figure out what the best course of action is. Although, I don't really agree that the age should be raised to 25. I feel that if you are considered an adult in your country, its between you and your medical team. I do know that most if not all surgeons won't even work on those under 18, not to mention you have to be on hormones for a certain amount of time, a year, i believe, for it to be effective enough for them to consider doing it. Again though, its between you and your medical team to discuss and do what's best for you. All I'm going to say reguarding to what's happened here since my last post is, transition is so much more than walking in, getting hormone shots, and telling a surgion to give you a different body. It's years of therapy, in most cases, multiple doctors (a general practitioner, an endocrinologist, not to mention any specialists if you have extra medical conditions), years of hormones before you're allowed to get surgery, which may or may not turn out the way you're hoping. If your mtf, its years of using other products to make sure the surgery sticks, and works the way it should. Not to mention, its not A Surgery as most think, its several over a period of sometimes years. Not to mention, most people don't get all of them because they just aren't scientifically where they should be to help with disforia. I won't even get into disforia here, unless someone really wants to know what that's like. So, to put it simply, its not a "choice" that can be made quickly. Sure, it is damaging, specifically to fertility, and you would need surgeries to reverse any surgeries you've had, it is in fact, possible, and it happens. Just go on youtube, and search for I detransitioned, and there are a load of stories. Transition isn't right for everyone, and everyone stops at their own point. With that out there, that does not mean i think everyone should transition and go through every single surgery they can, just because it can be reversed. The opposite for the most point. I think its a personal decision, and no one else can make that decision for you. Each person knows what would be best for them, and I don't think we should shame them either way. Not much different than I expected to be honest, but its nice to see that questions aren't being brushed off. As for myself, now that I've had a few hours to think more about what I'm actually willing to share online, I'll say that I do identify as trans, just not ftm in my case. I consider myself gender fluid, or more accurately, bigender. For those who don't know, and want to know, gender fluid just means that your feeling of gender changes over time, sometimes from minutes to months, maybe even years. Being bigender means that you mainly identify with two genders, and they can either be at the same time, different times, and even different strengths. Let's see if i can explain. with the go xlr, you can set different levels for music, chat, system, and things like that. I've been trying to get into the Sanderson books, and I just keep forgetting to read them, but they aren't bad, just not necessarily what I'm looking for. I'm great at describing, i know. lol.As for my month, it hasn't been terrible. I'm not feeling the best, but its not as bad as it usually is. I've also gotten my discord server set up, so I'm happy about that. And I've figured out virtual audio cable, something I've been struggling with for years now. I'm considering getting into audiogame streaming, even though its a small community. Hopefully I'll be able to take care of some financial things to be able to go back to college soon. Looking for a mixer Hello everyone.I've been doing some research, and have decided to get a mixer, for several reasons. I'm looking to be able to connect my phone, an echo, and if possible, a google device. Not sure how the last two would work out, but if anyone has any information, please let me know. I really like the look of the Go XLR, but I'm looking for accessibility information on it. To be specific, does any one have one? How is the software? It is buttons as it sounds, or a touch sensative device? Are there any other good options?Thanks for the help. If laws are stuck years behind where the society is, things get into a gray area in terms of what is and isn't legal. I also think that societys need to be open to questioning why things are the way they are. Not necessarily in terms of religion, but more of why they think the things that they do, and be open to listening to different thoughts. I think I understood your post a little different than you intended, but something I got from it, was that as long as most people think its okay, than it is. So, if person A just doesn't like person B, person A can get his friends to agree, and person A then has a good enough reason to harm person B and since most people around him think he had a good enough reason, that makes it okay? You have so many religions pointing to their various books and saying their god is what is moral, but isn't that part of what's causing religious wars? Because their morality doesn't line up? You could have one religion, extremest, sure, but they could think that because something in whatever book they use says to kill nonbelievers, does that then make it okay? No, it shouldn't, murder shouldn't ever be okay, wether its human or animal, but its still considered normal in most places. So, I guess what I'm getting to, and maybe has been answered and I just didn't pick up on it, how do we then set morality as a universal thing that everyone can agree on? I don't agree with parts of what you're saying, but I do agree that we are all equal as in that we are all human beings. I think its our lives and circumstances that is what is making us unequal, and possibly something that we'll always have to deal with. Even if we all see each other as humans, we are still human, and I think that we just have a natural bias to find differences and use them to make us unequal. I think that something that gets ignored a lot is our natural tendencies to make things the way we want them. For example, excuse the thread borrowing, but I feel that an example is right here. Deathstar seems to have had bad experiences with homeless people, while Jayde has had good ones, making them both think they are right about their point of view. Tooo often we just see things that make us right, and see everything else as harmful, bad, or something like that. Not to say that's happening, but I'm thinking as I type. I think that in general, we need to first be able to have open discussions about things we find important, controversial, or even scary, before we can come together as just human beings. I apologize if this is just rambly and doesn't make sense, but I find that if I don't just let my thoughts out as they are, I end up with something I don't actually mean to say. While they have voice assistant, so often, that clashes with talk back, making apps that work fine on other phones not accessible on Samsung. This is from experience with several android phones, from version 4.4 to 9.0. Things may have changed now, but that's my experience. I prefer LG oor HTC phones if I'm going for Android. Re: a call to all vapers Okay, so hope this helps.I have a smok nord v8, i think, forgot the exact model. It's a battery, with a screw on tank at the top. The tank has a button, and when its pressed, the top swings open, and there is a small, oval shaped hole on the side, where you pour the juice into. just make sure the bigger hole in the center is covered. As for maintenance, its pretty easy. You'll get used to knowing when it needs to be charged, because it won't be as powerful. As for when the tank is empty, the taste changes, and its very noticeable. The tank size you said sounds tiny to me to be honest. Mine has a 8 ML tank, and that seems to be the standard, at least it was about a year ago when i was looking around. I think the closest thing would be the Iron Druid Chronicles, but even those, I actually dont' know if they are considered urban fantasy or not.In terms of games, I tried zombie mud, but couldn't get into it. As I'm typing this, I'm actually playing A tempest Season, and it's probably becoming one of my favorites, next to Clok.
