I have been trying to beat Ground War 1 for a while now, and I am now in Heaven. I am in the part where there are five ways to go. Every time you choose a direction, there is a force battle with two of the summoned beasts, and another thing that sounds like wake beast or great beast. I am guessing I have to defeat all of the beasts to get farther. Is that what needs to be done? I am hoping that my characters are high enough in stats for defeating the final boss. Ok, I guess I have a lot to complete. I have just started a new game and am trying to get better characters. To find good characters, you really have to pay really good attention to the translations, or save and keep picking characters. Some of this stuff seems a bi confusing. First of all, there are 2 monster lists. One is locked, that is the full version containing all stats of the monsters, and the other just has the name and what they are like. I did not even know there was an extra boss. You have to talk to a spacific person in the game to get the maps file. I didnt think monster list was locked, but for the skill list, you have to defeat the extra boss at level 99 of the end dungeon to get that password.Same with ground war 2. Can we please get back to topic? If you want to talk about shadow line, there is a topic about the full voice version. So, I am starting new games on both of the games that I found unbeatable. New Tia story does seem beatable, forever now, I can not seem to get access to the old building in the house area in Kilutexoo, or herutecusoo or something that google likes to call it. However, the rest seems to be fine. On the other hand, ground war 2 is now just confusing. First, I read that you can make your characters in to mechanicals. I do not know how to do that, and the readme says nothing. And, is there a way I can find out what stats the weapon types use for damage? So far I have found that body art, swords, and hammers and axes use brute strength. Sorry about double posting, but, I just found something really good. There seems to be a use for mp in both Tia story 1 and 2. I do not know if this is correct, but here is what it said. If you beat them I think at least 3 times to get magic, meaning actual mp comsuming magic. And 4 times to get special skills. If you do this right, they should appear in the menus. Ive never had any trouble unscrambling translations right from the start, and I have beaten all of these. That includes new tia story, and tia story 1 and 2. I do mean all of them.As for what you said above, I dont think thats true. Not really sure where you found it. But first of all, theres no way to replay tia story 1 with the same save, so it wouldnt keep track of how many times youve beaten the game. Tia story 2 has that ability, but Ive beaten it several times and that never happened. Mostly beating it in different ways just gets you different endings, and the ultimate weapons.As far as I know, Ground War is where he started adding techniques via items, and actual magic. All of these games are beatable using translation, as I said in my first post and in many other posts on this forum. The only games that are not beatable are those that are incomplete. These are: Brave of Cloudia, and Trials Last Day on Earth. Last Day on Earth will probably never be completed, and Brave of Cloudia will likely be completed some time this year, according to the developer. Other than that, I say again, all games are beatable, and I have the save files to prove it. I know very little japanese, most of that was learned by playing the games and listening to the japanese. I beat most of these before I started using Clipboard2Sapi, however. If you cant win a game, either it hasnt been finished yet, or you missed something. Maybe they all are beatable. However, I have not beaten any of the Japanese games. This includes all text games, and every other game that was developed. Maybe I have to take a Japanese gaming class, if they had one at Perkins. But, if you want to see an unbeatable text game, look at the earth last day. It is completely done with after you kill the earth beast. You get sent back to the town, and you can go to the ruins again, but that is all you can do. For the people who are still playing or trying to beat the games, just to inform people, a couple of the games are unbeatable. At least it seems this way. With new tia story, after leaving the town of plime or prime, it says you have to go to the forest of arutorania, but whenever you try to go there, it says: we began to walk or something, and you arrive in the same place. And, in ground war 2, it is possible to go to the flat field, but when you arrive it says: here, flat field. However, there seems to be nothing here. I know that new tia story is unbeatable for a fact, because the map file says that the enjrance to the forest is the last place. For the people who do not understand stats, there are explainations in the list folder of each game. And, I will also post a basic explanation here. These stats do not apply for all of the games, sense some have different stats then others. Basic stats. Power, or brute strength: this is the amount of power or brute strength you have. This is how much damage you do with a normal attack or use of a skill that you use a physical weapon with. This does not apply for guns, sense guns use luck or technology for damage. Also, for all stats, you will see 3 numbers. For example: speed: 18 1 19. For all stats, and this applies for all games. The last number is the one that is your current amount. After power is magic. Morokuma's Text RPGs

In another topic, Aaron asked me which of Morokumas RPGs are good. To avoid dragging that topic further off course, I decided to start one here.The simple answer is, all of them. I havent played one that I didnt like, though the ones he started with, Tia Story 1 and 2, have some fairly simplistic mechanics. They were made in an older version of the text game maker. Some of my favorites are Alternative Magic, Ground War 2, New Tia Story and actually, Momotaros Adventure. But there is not one that I played that I didnt like.The later ones have skill and spell sets, though they arent customized to each character. Still, the games are very well put together and all of them have good plot that comes through fairly well in translation as long as you pay attention to the wording. Some of them have some fairly advanced mechanics, like New Tia Storys crafting system, Ground War 2s minigames and Dungeon Mazes random dungeon generation and exploration. That system is also used in Ground War 2 as well.I can say that I have beaten every single one of these games to their true endings, and have gotten a lot of bonus content for all of them, so for those that think Im just getting lucky with the translation, Id have to say Id be the luckiest person in the world to do all that. I even did it back in the days before InstantTranslate was available for NVDA, so I pasted everything manually into google translate and was even able to solve some of the more complicated puzzles. So the games are absolutely 100% playable without any working knowledge of japanese, though you might miss little tidbits of character development, or jokes, here and there. But the main storyline is very understandable. Same applies to games like BK1 and 2 and Shadow Line. Ive unlocked tons of bonus content for BK1, and Im thinking about getting back into it and doing more playthroughs to see what more of the treasure chests at the end have in them after youve cleared all the endings for every difficulty.I will say that these text RPGs arent for everyone. If youre looking for a game where you actually have to walk around, youre out of luck. These are games of choices, though they do have all the RPG elements like equipment, stats, a battle system, etc. But for example, instead of walking around a map, youll be told to go to the next town. So you click move from the main menu, then you click the option, usually at the bottom, that says either leave town, or head for the next town in some of the older ones where the world map didnt have an actual menu of its own outside the town entrances. Then you just advance along a path to the next town with proceed choices, fighting random battles along the way. The random battles can get somewhat tedious, since in some of the older games theres no way to avoid them at all. But in a lot of his newer games hes set it up so you can choose a method of walking from the menu that determines how many battles you get into per path section, so that definitely helps. In his later games, he even manages to adapt this system to work for exploration fairly well, and even puts in quite a few side quests.
