The concept is good, but two things that annoy me are that if you slow down, the controls also do the same, and that the voice is so annoying and slow. I'd prefer it if we have a scanner with D that detects turbulances, better yet, automatic screen reader announcements. In both later games, there are stages where literally all you have to do is right arrow, space, right arrow, space, all of the time. This is especially true of bk3 after doing a few runs and getting some of the postgame weapons. Nope, can't do that in bk1 since you're locked into tight quarters with some pretty unforgiving enemies. It's just a shame it doesn't seem to run on windows 10 anymore, even when using compatibility features. Re: BK games Speaking of dreamy train. How much does it caust (in euros/dollars) and I get no speech when I start the game with jgt enabled and nvda turned on. It's probably outputting to pc talker or something. How do I change it to nvda/clipboard? Also @7 yeah bk1 reminds me of zelda 2.. The overworld exploration could be a bit better though. But again, that game was made in like 2009 or 2010 by (at the time) a 13 or 14 year old kid. Re: BK games There is an instructions file which comes along with the dictionary that tells you where to put it once you've installed Bk3, but it's pretty much as you guess, you just bang it in the game's data folder and hit play. It will even auto update for you too. Shadowline and dreamy train are both worth it, and yes, that counts the price required for shadowline. the translation is garbled in a lot of places, and certainly a lot of the emotional beats of Shadowline's story, or the descriptive passages of Dreamy trains trains would benefit from some attention. However, it's more than possible to get a good idea of what is happening, and play the games successfully, both of which are extremely good quality and very addictive. Other Japanese games which you might consider are the very extensive demo of Planet saga, Galaxy laboratory's next rpg following shadlowline, which expands the gameplay quite a lot, but is not yet complete, and which works fine with JGT, Komandoh,fun robot smashy spinning action, and again fully JGT friendly.Also note that komandoh 2 from Nyanchan games, sequel to Komandoh, bigger and more complex but quite a bit harder (I'd recommend playing the first game first), has had a full translation by an English speaking developer (though there are still a couple of dialogue boxes in Japanese).I'd also recommend trying breed memorial and audio strike. Both have been translated using Google translate with a bit of grammar checking. The text is more readable than the direct google translations you'd get with Jgt in games like Dreamy train, but not as good as Komandoh 2 or Bk3 which have had far more work put into their translations, both are also very awesome games, being the most complex audio space invaders shooter and a very fun an detailed monster care and battle game respectively. hth. Re: BK games Fortunately, you literally need to extract the dict folder in the main game directory, but it also comes with some quick instructions too, so you should be fine there.As for games without official translations, while I'd have to agree with Dark in that they aren't the original experience, they are still certainly playable, and even add a humorous element when translations are incorrect. For example, I've loved playing the Planet Saga demo, even though no official translation is available.The JGT add-on is very easy to set up. Just create a BlindGamers account and use the same details to log in to the add-on. Note that the username field actually wants your Email address. I totally agree that paying less than £4 for something that must have taken a or of work as they must have had to translate line by line is well worth it.Is it as simple as unzipping the translation files somewhere into the game directory? The only miner catch is this translation costs 5 usd, which is really not a bad thing at all when you think about the massive amount of work which has gone into translating the game. You can find out more, learn about the game and the translation here on it's database page. In story terms, whilst the game does continue on from the others, there is a recap at the start to get you up to speed, and since the highlight here is the action/rpg gameplay you will find things get interesting pretty quickly. As to Bk 1 and 2. I have not tried these myself, however I have tried several other Japanese games such as shadowline and dreamy train with Jgt, aka the Japanese games translator addon for NVDA, and it's worked fine with all of them, Find out about that here.I believe it would work just as well with bk1 and 2, since unlike some games, they output text directly to your screen reader so don't require other mucking about to play, though I've yet to try those myself. obviously getting a google translation isn't as good as the official translation of Bk3, which is why I'd still recommend supporting the paid version there if you can. BK games Hi.I have heard a lot of discussions on these games but have never tried them myself due to worrying about how hard sorting out translating etc would be. I like my games easy to set up as I am a simple person at heart.Games are meant to be fun not a pain in the neck before even starting.However I am now running out of games to play and am wondering if taking the plunge would be less painful than I believe.So I have a few questions.1. Is it worth playing all 3 in order or are any of them not worth bothering with?2. Is setting each u o woe in English possible and simple?3. If it is possible to play them in English fully how does one go about doing this?4. Are they free and where do I get hem from?5. thoughts/help for bk games. hi!so i considered of making this topic for a while now. i'm going to do it because:A. i need help with one of the games,and B, i want to hear what you guys think about what i have to say.please note. everything i will say is my pure thoughts, some of them could be considered harsh/unfair, though i try to keep that as low as i can. with that being said, here we go.so. bk games, let's start with bk2 first. i'm going in order i played them.i really enjoyed the first couple of stages i played, i enjoyed how new enemy's showed up, i enjoyed the bosses, how challenging they can be, 1 thing which annoyed me, and still does is that i don't have a way to reduce the damage i take from enemy's attacks. and buying hp after 800 could be prablimatic. especially if you don't know where is the abicus.my first trouble was at 8-4 with the death bot. i felt like bombs doing 400 damage was cheap, plus having a machin egun killing you is not cool. i killed the guy with some rockets, grenades, and when i was out of both, with the lance. the robot was the most challenging boss i've met so far while playing audiogames.then 9-2, where the game just becomes way, way too loud, all fish attacking you and each other and you trying to kill them. it wasn't as hard as annoying.i should also tell you that i didn't have any way of translating the game at the time.wait, did i say 1 death bot was hard? it got worse.11-4. 2 death robots! what a joy!no, i got to tell you, it wasn't.at the time i was starting to kind of losing the intrest in the game because i needed more and more and more hp for each boss, or it seemed that way.it all leads up to 15-1, where i'm stuck upto now.i have no problem taking down gun battery's, but the platform jumping... oh my! i hated! i hate the death scream! and that's when i removed bk2 from my compu ter, for a while, anyway. my problem is that i'm letting go too early. i'm afraid to let go as soon as i land because what if i fly over the landing spot? and so i just never managed to jump over anything the fair way. yes, i cheated, and i'm not proud of it. more then anything, it made the game even less fun then it already was.i've won the game, some stages fairly, some not. but i just don't understand how to jump over the stupid stupid platforms! or i do, but i keep letting go too early! and that pisses me off!bk3. i started this game and got owned by an insect launching a needle at me. "ok," i thought, let's try that again. when i managed to get the hang of killing, leveling, and jumping over stuff the lamps came, and when i found out about the rope and got well at using it, the game launched a new enemy at me. a bear! rocks hit for 150 damage! now that's just mean for a first boss!when i won, the game introdu ced armor, then desks, then rolling stones. do you see my point? the game always stayed ahead of me. that was kind of annoying, but at the same time, it was really, really, really fun.problems began soon enough. game did stay ahead of me, and forced me to fly! you might think, flying is fun! let me ask you this: you have translation pack? if so, yes, flying is fun, if not, well... flying sucked for me, but i past it.stage 11. i loved every minute of it, ur... mostly. i never, never played missions where you have to work with an ally, to cover them, and granted, it was annoying at times where they were really really stupid, but still.15 and 16 are next.these wern't hard, they were just really boring for me.17!that's when the game made it's comeback. it moved forward once more, introducing the sneaking level. first time i've played it, i just ran and killed what ever got in my way, but in higher modes it didn't work.an d i thought: "few! this is tuff!". 21 was tuffer, but, it was also easier in some way, cams didn't move, which made it easier, but they scanned the area from left to right, which made it harder, and i didn't know that they do time turns. again, first playthrough, killed them all with the watermaster, higher modes, well... not that easy.25-3. this is where things have gotten, shall we say, intresting.blades, lifts, bomber pods, this stage's got everything! but, this is where i learned that recovery ring is very, very, very nice. the room where you have to drop onto the lift before it goes too high was where things were the hardest for me.25-4. biocontrol system. easyly the hardest boss which i've battled with so far. especially when it's at 0%. hope you get it killed with 1 hit when it's 1, because at 0 it becomes a true nightmare.i must say, 25-5 was fun! not hard, but fun! course, the burner's clear burns were tri cky, but everything else was fun.bk1.oh god... well, let's start with positive things, because i have pretty much nothing nice to say about this. i liked how it introduces new enemy's with multiple attacks. that's all.ok, where should i start. i hated how you don't get any directions, i don't need like go 2 steps up,
