Re: Can anyone help me with SMC Fan Control for my mac? @1, be very careful when using those apps. Back when smc fan control still worked, well... I'll admit, i wasn't very tech savvy back then. Anyway, thinking my mac got too hot, i speeded up the fan to 100percent, at all times. I just set it to 100 percent and well, that was its new setting until... my computer just died out of nowhere. lol. Long stury short, i had to replace the fan. Just be mindful about whenever you decide to speed up the fan on your machine. Learned that the hard way lol. So I needed to test my fans to make sure they worked. Later on, I just used the program to see the temperture on my computer.Sorry I dont remember how to use the program, but something seems indeed to be messed up. I dont know if the app isnt supported in the latest version of Mavericks or whats wrong, but it also fails for some reason on my system. Ive done Bitcoin mining on this iMac and its a wonder the thing didnt melt with the fans running that high. I am just trying to change the rpm of my fan.Second, I tried the other application and couldnt find it in the applications folder once installed. After looking around with spotlight, I discovered it was in system preferences.Once in System Preferences under that category, I am confused. Can anyone help me with SMC Fan Control for my mac? Hi.I was told about an application for Mac OS X that would allow you to set your fan speed.Whenever I install it and run it, I do not see it in the status bar. VOiceOver acts like the icon for the application is not there at all.Why is this?
