The link for custom stages just leads to some instructions about how to make them, and the downloads link just has some music packs in the correct format to run with Aac. Ive got a few sync folders, and none of them have had people dump illegal content into them. Where as if I find a site with torrents on, you can bet that almost all of them will be full of the stuff, and because of this, I avoid original torrents like the plague. Re: New idea for a stage repository @Aaron, the legality of using torrants is more technical than real, you wont get taken to court about it, I just make the point that technically it is, whether your using bit torrent, bit tornado or whatever, and whether your downloading books and films illegally with it or not. My point is that using a program that only some people have access too and are willing to use and one which does have at least potentially legal issues is not friendly to newbies or the general public, it is a rather insula thing. either the developer should host levels on his site, or someone should create a page with them that Aaron could link toto, rather than all these shenanigans with other programs just being passed between a select few people in the community. And nobodys going to send someone to court about using a program that is used for illegal purposes for legal purposes, especially for a game thats not shareware, and that isnt being worked on anymore. Re: New idea for a stage repository There are people with Servers, or perminant hosting on soemwhere like dropbox or sendspace or something, and its not as if Aac stages are huge in size, indeed with the amount of people like Bladestorm, Dragonaps etc who host old audiogames Im surprised someone hasnt done this already even if Aaron from Vgstorm.com doesnt have the space on his site as it is. As to the legality angle, as I said, I dont think anyone would get taken to court over the program, however torrants are still technically held as illegal, at least in the Uk. Of course lots of things are technically illegal but people do anyway, my point was just that this is another discouragement to any newbie to use the program, apart from the rather exclusive thing of just having to share folders when invited by someone already in the know. Re: New idea for a stage repository Im not all that happy with using Bt sink for this, sinse really the aac stages should be available to anyone, and bit torrenting can be intimidating to newbies as well as being technically illegal in some parts of the world, even if your not sharing anything copywrited. Myself, Id either like to see a custom program to handle downloading them, or just a streight up website with the things hosted, that way theyd be unambiguously available to everyone! irrispective of computer skill or needs for shenanigans with possibly dodgy programs. Btw, I am quite aware bit sink isnt actually! illegal and can be used for quite legitimate things, I just make the point that in some places it is, as well as not being technically friendly to newbies.
