What version of Windows are you using? If it's 10, then try disabling the OCR addon if you have it. The addon isn't needed for 8 and 10. Also, refer to the NVDA user guide on OCR. Maybe it will say how to fix that problem.

Re: Pokemon TPP Aniversery, completely playable without sighted help

Braillemon is completely playable, accept their are two versions. You need both versions to play, and you'll have to move your save between them at times. About Retroarch, it will tell you to press a key to use for the AI Service when you press enter on AI Service in the hotkeys menu. Just press the key you chose when in the game, and it will read the text on the screen. If you want to try Braillemon, you can download it here.https://www.dropbox.com/s/eg25obe74pzl8 … 0.zip?dl=0It will automatically read all the messages, just remember about the bugs. Moving your save is required for the following events: if playing on the old version (recommended), you will get a code error when trying to get into the captain's room in the SS Ana. Save outside of the captain's room, move your save file to 1400, then load 1400 and do what you have to do there.Save when you're done on the SS Ana, move back to the old version and continue playing. In general, if something doesn't work in the old version of 1400, move your save to the normal 1400 and do what you have to do in 1400, then save after doing that. The only thing you can't do is beat all the trainers in the final gym and breed Pokemon with the daycare center. Their is only one game breaking bug, and that is Victory Road. Do all of Victory Road on the old version, and do! Not! Save anyware in Victory Road or right outside of it! Because if you do, it won't load the maps... And their goes all your progress. No offense to the developer, but I think the old version (the unstable version) is actually more stable than normal 1400 (the stable version) because it doesn't have as many bugs. Play most of your game using the old version, you'll have a harder time if you play using normal 1400. And finally, HM's. When you find a tree (requires Cut), a boulder (requires Strength) or water (that you can use Surf on), just walk up to one of these things and press enter. If you choose to Cut, use Surf or use Strength from the actual Pokemon menu, the game will close with a code error.

Re: Pokemon TPP Aniversery, completely playable without sighted help

After downloading Lunar IPS, find a rom for Pokemon Red. I think Blue works as well, I just used Red because it said that the game was based off of Red. After that, open Lunar IPS and select apply patch. It will ask you to choose the patch file, this is the file that was found on the website in the first post. It will then ask you to choose the rom, press enter on the Pokemon Red rom you downloaded. If everything worked, it will say "the rom was patched successfully!" Or something similar. Now that you've finished that, you don't need to keep Lunar IPS or the patch unless you want to. Open Retroarch, then select Load Core. Choose the Game Boy Color core you downloaded (assuming you did that since it requires a Game Boy Color based core). Now, go to Load Content and browse to the rom you patched. Press enter on it, and you can finally play! When you finish playing after closing Retroarch, all you have to do to continue is open Retroarch, load the core you installed, then go to history and you'll find that it saved the rom so you don't have to go searching through your computer.

Once you download a core, go to load content from the Retroarch main menu and navigate to the folder ware you saved the rom. Press enter on the rom once you find it, and the game will open.

Re: Pokemon TPP Aniversery, completely playable without sighted help

I don't know about HM's, but you probably can just use them like they were in Braillemon. Youtube or Google can answer that faster than me, since I haven't even beat Brock yet. Speaking of Brock, he has an Onix and an Aerodactile (sorry if I spelled that wrong). Aerodactile knows Wing Attack and Bite, so you can't use your grass types on him. Maybe Pikachu if I can find one.

@Computergamer, RetroArch is just a frontend for emulators, and cores are basically just the emulators for RetroArch. You can also manage them from within RetroArch too. For example, MGBA, VBA, Citra, Dolphin, and Desmume are all cores within RetroArch.

Re: Pokemon TPP Aniversery, completely playable without sighted help

Update: I'm not saying this is better than Pokemon Crystal Access, but the stats of your Pokemon are actually readable with NVDA's OCR! 1: press enter to open the menu.2: if you have the Pokedex, go down once then Press X. If not, press X without going down.3: after doing either of these steps, select a Pokemon by going up and down through the list. If you only have one, just press X again. This will bring you to the main screen for that Pokemon.4: from here, you can check stats and switch it with others in your party. Stats should be the first option, so press X to select stats. 5: if you did this right, you will hear the sound it makes when it enters battle. If you use Retroarches AI Service, you'll get the level and HP as well as the main stats. If you use NVDA's OCR, you'll just get the stats without level or HP.I'd normally use the AI Service all the time, but it seems to crash Retroarch a lot.To switch Pokemon, start from step 3 but instead of pressing X a third time to go to stats, go down once then press X to select switch. Up or down through your Pokemon, then press X on the one you want first. As an example, let's say you have a Bulbasaur, a Pidgey, a Nidoran, a Metapod and a Machop. Bulbasaur is first in your party, and you want Metapod first.Enter to open the menu, down once to the Pokemon option.Press X, you're on the first Pokemon in your party (Bulbasaur in this example). You go down 3 times, going through the Pokemon you have in this order.Focused on Bulbasaur. Pidgey, Nidoran, Metapod. You press X on Metapod, down once to switch, X, up twice to Bulbasaur, then X to switch it with Metapod. Finally to wrap up this post, about the bag since many people say that's what makes these games inaccessible. The bag is actually very easy to use, if you use NVDA's OCR. It just requires memory. The first pocket you land on when choosing bag is the last one you used, so I'd say it's easier than games like Heart Gold.

Re: Pokemon TPP Aniversery, completely playable without sighted help

First, download Retroarch from:https://retroarch.com/?page=platformsPress H until you find the operating system you're using, then download the setup file. Run it when it finishes downloading, it acts like normal installers.Press enter on the desktop icon, then enable accessibility by pressing the following buttons, in this order:Left once.Down once.Right once.Up 7 times.Enter once.Right once. You should hear: accessibility accessibility enable on.Press backspace 2 or 3 times to leave settings, then go to settings, then input, then hotkeys. Press down or up until you find "AI service", press enter on it and press a button you want to use for the AI Service feature. If it's already being used for another thing, find that feature that it's being used for and change the button for that feature. When that's done, press backspace twice so you're focused on input. Go down to AI Service. Press enter, and make sure the AI Service is enabled and set to either Speech mode or Narrator mode. If it's on Speech mode, it will use whatever voice you have set for Narrator (MS Anna is what I use). If you have it set for Narrator mode, it will use your screen reader. I know NVDA works, haven't tested it with JAWS but it probably does. Assuming you want to play in English, press down once to go to the URL edit box, press enter and type this in, yes you have to type it, not paste from the clipboard:http://ztranslate.net/servicepress enter when finished, and down one more time to source language. Right once will set it to English, then press backspace 3 times. This will put you on the main menu. To download cores, go to online updater then core downloader.

Re: Pokemon TPP Aniversery, completely playable without sighted help

Well, technically, thats just a patch. To answer your question about special, back up until either generation 3 or 4, i'm pretty sure its 3, special was lumped into 1 category. Once that generation rolled around, they finally split special attack and special defense. You will find in some hacks of older games that the special splits were made.

Pokemon TPP Aniversery, completely playable without sighted help

2020-08-30 Thread AudioGames . net Forum — General Game Discussion : boy via Audiogames-reflector

Pokemon TPP Aniversery, completely playable without sighted help

I found this version of Pokemon while searching the internet. Though it's only the first generation, Red/Blue, it works with Retroarch and the AI Service. You can catch all Pokemon with no online trades, and beat the game without sighted help. Here is a website where you can download the game.https://www.romhacking.net/hacks/2362/It's an ips file, so you'll need Lunar ips to patch a rom. I haven't got very far, but here are some things you should know.Though the menus are accessible, they don't beep like they would if you were using a Game Boy to play the game. So, you have to count how many times you press down when choosing options. To name your character, you get a choice of names at the beginning. It's hard to type your own, but it's possible. That's the only thing you'll need sighted help for. When catching a Pokemon, it will automatically assume you want to give it a nickname. To skip this, once it starts talking about names, press up once, then left 6 or 7 times then whatever you have set as the A button (X or Z by default). This is a link to a short battle demonstration I made just to show how it works. https://www.dropbox.com/s/al05pyez8w3wr … o.mp3?dl=0If you listen to this, you will probably learn to really, really hate Sand Attack... Also, something else I noticed. Their is just one stat called Special, not Special attack and Special Defense. Does Special combine them both into one
