There's a strategy to computer-controlled battles. The AI players don't do well at all in certain scenarios, like the bank, for instance, but they do extremely well at busting gang members out of prison. I have no idea why this is, but that's how it works.

Ok, I managed to get the Arrow thing fixed by rewriting a bit the eurofly patch for jaws... But page up and page down, as well as home and end, still give me quite a bit of troubles. And yep, in the file, I placed HOME= END= PAGEUP= PAGEDOWN= etc.

hello! This post pointed me to the game, and I tried the demo, and I like it and was sort of thinking to buy it buut... Since again, I need to turn off jaws because it conflicts with arrows, is there a way to override that like in eurofly and AHC, a config file for jaws to just tell it "hey stop intercepting my arrow keys"?

I think perhaps that the game didn't have the best reception might have mildly discouraged Aaron from updates, though on the other hand I can't complain since manamon is very impressive and I enjoyed what I saw of the gate, although I haven't bought that game yet since I can tell that will be a game that will take practice on my part to master and right now I want something more of a quick play.

to get guns, you have to kill the shop owner. They usually don't appear right away, so you might get long knives instead. to track kills, you press k on the character, it unfortunately has no way to track your entire gang's kills.

Well I've got a bit further. I did decide to buy the game because as blindncool said, it's not the most complex thing around but hay it's amusing for a bit of random slaughter and pointless violence . different weapons are now showing up which is nice. I wish though there was a way to unload pistols. I seem to be picking up a bunch of the things, but I can't usually get the bullets out, indeed it seems better mostly to stick to melee weapons simply because amo is rather hard to come by, indeed you get more amo thatn weapons. Some options I'd like to see are a way to sell things to the black market, maybe even become weapons smugglers, (say ou had to survive attacks long enough for a smuggled shipment to leave), also some hiher level mission targets and unlockable stages would be nice, though for what the game is it's fun for ten minut
 es pointless slaughter and I bought it for that reason since it's a nice stress reliever. The only thing I don't really like is the fact of killing people who are begging you not to, I know the game is intended to be fairly silly, but that to me is going a bit beyond black humour and into the realms of just nasty for the sake of nasty, still it's personal opinion and won't  me hacking someone up with a knife in this game and knicking their stuff .

So...been playing the demo here.Is there a timing to  going ham on people?I mean, opening mission in the party, I always seem to take damage, I worked out space is attack butI just seem to have to stab people several times, are they somehow blocking my knife attacks?Also.is there a way to see how much cash I got off the missions? Also, for some reason I always seem to die or get captured, is it at lower levels (2-3) a simple matter of run in, grab what you can and get the hell out of there bfore you die?

I've actually found the game to be a lot easier at lower levels because all the cops do at that point is punch you so you really don't lose much health.

you are generally able to get the pistol already at level 2, but as your level increases both the chances to find the pistol, and the chances for entirely new weapons will increase. Also, both police and civilians will eventually begin using better and better weapons as well. The steel shield is the only armor available, however as said it does increase in defense as you level up. The police station mission doesn't require you to break a cell, all you need to do is kill all the cops which completes the level and releases the captchered party member.

Thanks for that. any rough idea when new weapons start showing up in the weapon shop to give me an idea of what happens through the game? I did manage to break someone else out of prison which was fun, and I found the bank helpful for bying armour, though again I hope more armour is available later than just the steel shield.One odd thing also happened, I got someone taken by the police and did the police station mission, however where I was expecting a cell to bust them out of, I didn't see one, I just had lots of police running after me that I couldn't particularly take out and eventually got killed. As I said I'm not against the game but if I do decide to buy I'd like some idea of what I'm getting.

you get better weapons, including guns, by going into the weapon shop with a higher level. Grenades, which are only available at a very high level, or bombs will break the doors a lot faster, but if you're not patient you can just destroy the wooden doors for weaker people. The only way to get the shield is through the black market, and you can either do more bank runs and continuusly update your version of armor you have, or tough it out till level 100, where you stop leveling and thus the armor stops increasing in price and effectiveness.

Okay since I now have a machine that would run it I decided to try psycho strike. A few things in the demo however are strange. first, where do I get a gun? I've gone to the weapon shop and keep picking up cartrages, but don't seem to be able to get a gun out of it. Second, prison seens near impossible to break someone out before the demo ends, indeed in my last game I only just broke someone out of prison before I hit level 8 and finished the game, simply because the amount of smacking those doors take is sort of nuts, especially with a knife. also, is there actually a way to get armour? since it seems the price keeps increasing.I lastly wonder if there is a way to check your goal progress, eg, how many people you've killed or how much cash you've got since presumably that is the end of the game.I am not directly against the game, I don't mind a bit of mindless violence in a good cause, and am sort of amused by the g
 ameplay, but I'd like to try the demo out properly before deciding whether I want to invest in the game or not.

Yeah, like any dev would just do that. Just stop playing it. If it's updated, it's updated. But sitting here telling a developer to "make it free" is the same as not playing it, because there's no compensation for work put in. Life gets in the way. So does people complaining. It also doesn't help that an xp bug basically stopped development because nobody knows what the problem is. Either stop playing and if it's updated great, or if you must have your fix of the full game, find a friend that has it.

Just keep playing and you'll find out. normally I'm not into giving smart ass answers, but in this case, it's way more fun to find it accidentally, I think. Besides, I don't think it was ever discovered exactly what triggers that mode to appear, as it varies. It probably has something to do with how you've set your goal, and how close you've gotten to it, but I really don't know.

Well, when I played BK3 for the first time, camera system was very confusing to me. And I'm still not so good with it, I'm afraid. You really have to create a picture in your head to actually know how platforms are positioned. May be it'll be easier to understand once the documentation is translated into english.

So I'm very sure this game will never ever not even in a quadrillion years and 2 hours be updated, but I still suggest to make more kinds of animals spawn on the farm, so that you can kill things like chickens, pigs, cows etc It would certainly add a bit of variaty to the game. Aaron, in the interview with the grenade arcade you said something I wanna bring up. I know that this has to do more with the gate than ps, but it could still be used here. You said the reason you didn't add plattforming and full 2d support was because you didn't like the camera system from games like bk3 and 2dp. Well, what didn't you like about it? And to the things you didn't like, how do you think you could improve them? The next step would be, could I add those into the game? And if you could, then the last step would be to add them. You don't need to reuse the same systems, just invent a new one for displaying plattforms, stairs and ladders with audio.

I wouldn't say it's hate, exactly, so much as "can we minimize the need for it?" / "can we do better?".Speed. Regular Mario has time limits. I don't remember what they are, exactly--60-90 seconds, IIRC? I dropped the time limits in my version because that would have been insane when relying on the cursor and object list. I suspect this is one of Aaron's complaints, too, since The Gate and Psycho Strike are pretty fast-paced all around.Immersiveness, although this isn't quite so big a deal since it's more or less like a cane or extendable hand.Detail. I tried to put some of the simpler standard platform puzzles into the Swamp Experiment, but based on the way people have talked about the Warehouse level, I'm not sure anyone even realized there's a way to get to the roof... and even though I eventually gave in and added a cursor to that, I don't think it would help much in that sort of situation. I can think of two maps I made for LC before I even got here in which the point is to reach the top via a series of moving platforms, inters
 persed with things that throw fire at you. I'm starting to worry those won't be viable - and those were originally designed with the engine used in Mario in mind!OK, so in Mario, you can pause the game and look around to try and get a less urgent idea of where moving things are. I have recordings of me playing Mario from early 1995 where I occasionally pause to get a better look at the screen (then die anyway). There are games that restrict the ability to do that sort of thing, sometimes by dimming the screen, sometimes with some sort of pause logo or menu or status message, and in one noticeable case, by making all the sprites disappear (this was not always a disadvantage, mind you). BK3 doesn't let you use the cursor while paused, but it's also carefully designed so that doing so wouldn't make a difference anyway. What do I mean? How many situations are there where you need to worry about enemies and platforms at the same time, or about tim
 e-sensitive platform-hopping? (The answer is the bossfight in 5-4, and the stealth missions... but mostly just the stealth missions.)

I really don't understand this though. I really love the camera system in those plattforming games. Sure you can use echos and stuff to signalize plattform stuff, but one problem I have with ps and the gate is that they are sidescrolers, which don't offer anything really youneaque. Plattforms have, untill now only been seen in 2 games, really. From what I know, the 2d swamp thing you made was intended to be a prototype. Now folows a list of things, any of which aaron could imploment in his current sidescrolers or future ones.1: imploment something that makes this better than, say super liam. Just do something that ither hasn't been seen before, has been seen very rarely, or at the very least make a plot for the game that motivates you to continue. Not just the prospect of unlocking weapons, make more unlockables, and make the missions more interesting by adding things like dynamic ambience, as i aproached in this game a number of times (plattforming), and/or o
 ther random factors to make the missions a bit more unpredictable.2: change the entire movement system to first person or top down, which would at least be an excuse to not add the plattforming elements other than "I hate the camera thing and I'm too lazy to think of any other way to present plattforms to the player.2or 3: lower the price. Sorry to say this but... the games are just... not worth the 25 and 35 bucks respectivly. Its just... the content you'd expect for that amount of money these days is not there. Audio game developpers can make far better things and sell them for more than they could do 10 years ago. A game like troopanum or judgmentday souled so good when it first came out because:a: It was new, and never seen in the audio game industry before.b: They all had something that greatly encreesed their worth and replay value. Troopanum had the many combinations that could be done with difficulty and missions combined, also with the
  lengthening of the gameboard and other things ingame. Judgmentday had audio clips, games, trofies with audio describing them in a very humerous way, 2 different ending cutseens and a fourth difficulty level.

Well,In my opinion, Psyco Strike is not a game that should be completed in a single day. This is a game that should be played day by day, or even week by week. For example, in one day I came to level 4, next day I came to level 16, etc. But that's because I purchased the game and thus I can save it. The game will become borring for sure if you try completing it all in one day. I also have created multiple gangs, rather than just one.

Actually, you can save in the demo. I thought that at first too. Are you perhaps not actually selecting the Save option from the menu at the base from time to time? If you never do this, the next time you restart with that gang, it'll start over.

I finally played this game and was very tempted to buy it (but didn't for the same reason I didn't buy The Gate: not enough funds to justify it at present.)It was kinda painful when I found out you can't save in the demo. Do you know how long it's going to take a PRNG to give me back those exact characters with the same names and backstories? (And then I was tempted to make a game in the exact same style, but instead of being violent criminals, you're a suburban Kindergarten student.  Normal "I can't finish anything, let alone anything of quality" issues aside, finding voices for something like that would be difficult and probably require renting a studio for a day and luring a local kindergarten class there with promises of getting
  to be in a game. But the closest studio costs $2k, and if I had that, I would have bought both The Gate and Psycho Strike. And probably hired someone to force me to release LC. ... And fixed those annoying water sounds in Jeqo Prime. They completely ruin the Island arena! ... Also if I had $2k I'd lose my SSI. Burn the wellfare Cliff.)

Amusing thing to try. Go to factory, and put a mine right near the death machine. By that I mean that strange saw that spawns in random places and kills you if you get too close. Anyway, put a mine about 1 or two steps away from it to the rite, and have fun while every single police officer that gets in dies. Yeah, I sure bet the death machine is happy I gave it its meal of people.  It gave me quite a long while of amusement when I tried it. WARNING, this is effectively a jail... sort of. No police officers will get to you but you can't get out either without getting killed. Also, it can hold police officers off for a very long time, but eventually the mine will explode, allowing the police to come in. Be sure you have your game saved first!

And now, my main character in my women gang died due to a drug addiction, probably because I gave her too much Burlium, and she died when she was at level 15. Even medkits didn't help, because its health was decreasing very quickly. I have two remaining members, but yeah I'll have to pay them for their work. That's why this game is interesting, because although missions are almost the same, there are various challenges.

Yeah in the meantime my main character reached level 14, and I got a pistol, revolver, a long knife as well as some drugs, so now I can kill the police officers much easier.

Hello, I've been playing the demo of this game for quite a while, not being able to purchase it due to lack of a cc, but all I'll say is, awesome! A few of my friends have the full version and when I heard them playing, mind you they had main chars in the level 30's or 40's at that time, the thing I found quite unusual is when the police are reloading, it sounds like they're reloading the other type of gun  because they keep jumping around like crazy people, it's like shikshik ah! ah! I was laughing my ass off when I heard that. In terms of the actual game, the voice acting is amazing, as is the mixture of side scrolling/rpg/character management. Keep up the awesome work!

Hello there, I wasn't posting on this forum for a long time...I've played with demo of Psyco Strike for some time and then I've purchased the full version. Now I'm happy that I can save the game since I get killed or taken by the police quite often . My suggestion for the next version: Please implement some way that I can know when I was hit by an enemy. In current version I'm never quite sure if I was hit or not. Also, guys, what is the best way to get rid of the police, except getting out of the level? I'm currently at the beginning, so I don't have any other weapons except the knife and phists.

I'm really looking forward to it as well. Another idea for a feature in the next update, perhaps there inventory shortcuts. This could be useful if you wanted to quickly use an item, like a medkit if you were running low on health. Because right now, since there are no shorcuts, while you're busy digging through your inventory for a medkit, you could get killed. So I'm thinking maybe there should be shortcuts to critical items like those.

Well, I just heard about psycho strike through a game of RTR, and decided to try it out. I must say, I sure love it! My favorite part of the whole thing is the voice acting, man it's better than any other game I've played. I almost felt like I was attacking real people.
