Hmmm you could always use something like keybase.I have been seriously thinking about podcasting about keybase and I may still do that at some point.But yeah people have tried bgt and other things on bt sync, the repo wasn't used what it was supposed to be for.Neither were ftp sites made for the same thing.A lot of audio books, pirated stuff and viruses.I think something like keybase where you manage it yourself.People could email you links to things but you alone would have to manage it yourself. Re: File Repository - Would it Be a Good Idea? I think it is an excellent idea for the simple fact that no website is permanent, nothing is for that matter. Having another place to be able to go and grab the things from would be a huge help in the event that, heaven forbid, this site ever crashes or something else happens to where it is either no longer maintained or even functional. I am all for it. Great idea. As for copyright infringement and all that, I really don't think there is going to be any way to completely eliminate that as a problem simply because of the truth that there is so much of it that goes on all the time. I'm not saying it's right, but that's just the nature of everything going digital unfortunately. By hosting a public file repository you'll be expected to monitor the system for copyright violations and could get into trouble for not doing it and not taking copyrighted material down. Given the nature of this community, no, IMO it's not a good idea.
