I was also gonna upload the international since is smaller and faster. After you install it, you go to the program with va, do the configuration wizard because it is easier in my opinion and grand permisions, then turn it on from accessibility.Don't worry if tts doesn't start speaking after you turn it on, it will start in afew seconds, it needs it's time to load.

Re: Switching from ios to android, some advice?

I herd that there are some problems with China and the Playstore, so I kinda understand why it isn't.It gets almost daily builds, max 3 or 4 days distance from updates and it makes your phone feel like you are sighted in the fact that it is sooo responsive. My mom was curious on how all this talk back and talking phone works, so, I showed her how to use it on my phone and she said that my phone is s slow because I have alot of apps and I should clean it up.Then in late 2016 she tried va on my s7 edge at the time and said this is much faster, but still very slow, comparring it to her phone, same configuration, only the color difference. Then last year, I did a comparison of sscreen readers on her own s10 plus, she saying that they slow it down and it sucks that devs make blind people get better phones to have a decent speed, that was her way of thinking and I can't blame her, these are heavy even on expensive devices. Then I showed her Commentary and she was like hell, how did you make it fly, it was slow minutes ago, saying that finaly it works just like a normal phone.Dirrect touch typing isn't really a thing in csr, but you can just tap the keys and it will type them fast, so no need to enable anything.

Look, it might not be a scam, but the facts that first the thing doesn't have a website, second that you only acquire it via a telegram group and third that it's not up on playstore, nor on aptoide or other weird and also shady stores.

Alright, I'll do my best to answer these questions.@RTT, The pronunciation is part of the TTS itself I believe so whatever TTS you use should already come with one.And yes, other TTS engines, absolutely. It works with whatever's on your phone.Gesture customisation is really one of CSR's points I think. You can customise any gesture CSR uses to be whatever gesture CSR supports.Updates are sent through the Telegram group though everyone understandably avoids it for that so think of that what you will.Cost is based on what subscription model you go for. I can't quite remember all of them but you save the most with the three-year plan. It's the Chinese Juan currency but the price generally sticks to around $45.About DRM, I'm not sure about that.@simba:About the rotor, TB technically has one with a one-finger swipe up or down. CSR is no different, though the action changes depending on if you're in a web browser or not. If so, the gesture will move up and down the rotor, otherwise it can scroll and I've heard it can also skip non-essential elements also. You can customise this behaviour.I don't believe direct touch typing is an option. As for heading navigation, it uses the same rotor style as TB, though I still believe VO's rotor is superior.Did you say responsiveness? There's a night and day difference in my opinion.Once again, sound themes will guarantee you have sounds you like. If you can't find a sound theme you like, you can create your own.Okay okay. So I feel like you're targeting CSR directly here, and understandably. I get that it looks more than shady, especially with the money involved. Just know that I have my copy and that it wasn't a scam, if you're worried about that.Hopefully I answered your questions.

Re: Switching from ios to android, some advice?

Hi.I won't really recommend the Pixel 4 because in my opinion it has to many flaws to be a flagship smart phone. For example:64 gigabytes of storage for a flagship model is just not acceptable anymore in 2020 or rather late 2019 when the phone was published, especially if you look at the price. It's either 100 bucks more for 128 gigs of storage or pay money to use the cloud service because google got ridd of the sd card slot. The hardware used in the Pixel 4 is also outdate. Google used the snapdragon 855 which was published in 2018 and not the at the time current snapdragon 855plus. Again, not really a flagship move there. The to small batterie has already been talked about, so no further comments there. The motion sensing capabilitys are also not working as they should. They are nothing more than a little gimmic noone is using really. Google shot themselves in the foot anyway, because do to the technology used, some Cuntrys like India have banned the phone from selling. So, google basically gave up a market of around 1 billion people for a feature noone cares about.there are more points like the 4K video locked at 30 FPS, not a really good camera, but I guess they are not that important to you.If you really want a pixel go with the 3A, and forget about the pixel 4.Greetings Moritz.

Hi.at 32 hmm, let's see here.A quick and easy rotor so I don't need to hop through menus to change granularity.A method of direct touch typing.Keeping the granularity option during web browsing, if I chose headings and read something, for example a forum post, I want to continue navigating by heading and not just firstly choose it again, yes voice assistant, I'm looking at you here.Faster responsiveness than TB or va.Not such obnoctious sounds as in tb or va.The option to download the sccreen reader from a website or other service and not just a telegram group.Yeah, that would be everything from off the top of my head for now.Greetings Moritz.

Does it have the ability to customise gestures with certain actions? Say I wanted to go home gesture to be swiping up with two fingers, could I do that? Also, how much does it cost and how do we check for updates? Does the file have any DRM?

@RTT It's point is to be fast. And trust me, it is. Responds way better to gestures than TB. It's also extremely customisable. If you want a feature, chances it's already there. And if not? The developer is working on bug fixes and new features all the time. Try giving a list of things you'd want in a screen reader for Android that other's don't already have.

Re: Switching from ios to android, some advice?

I trust this, that is because everyone who bought it in the Telegram group is happy and there are like almost 1000 members. You can change what ever you like in it, sound theme, main menu etc.You can't do ocr on the free version, resolve captchas, run all of your plugins at startup, but the free version is ok for normal use.

I suppose you have a point. What makes this screen reader less trustworthy then talk back or voice assistant? I mean, they could be doing the same things. Thanks for the advice. Also, what features are missing from the demo?

Re: Switching from ios to android, some advice?

Sorry for double posting, but @20 It depends on what you want. There is the pixel 3 A, a budget end phone, that still has a headphone jack, a plastic back, a fingerprint reader and great battery (the 4 A should be coming out sometime in the next couple of months, I'm assuming it will be the same sort of thing), or the pixel 4, more high end, no finger print reader, no headphone jack, 3 or 4 camera modules, etc. So it really depends on what you want but I defenatly recommend a pixel.

Re: Switching from ios to android, some advice?

@19 Commentary screenreader is a chinese screen reader for android. You can change your sound theme, and even make your own! Note that you are missing some features unless you buy the full version, something i have not done yet as I don't feel comfortable giving money to some random developer over paypal until I know they won't scam me, but I'm just extra careful. Yes, I tried Android, too, way back in the day and absolutely hated it. Old Android, I'll even admit, sucked. And that's coming from a huge Android fan. Modern Android? I love it!

Re: Switching from ios to android, some advice?

Hi. I’ve heard that android is highly customisable and I’ve wanted to enjoy the experience. The last time I actually explored an android device was back in 2012 or 2013 I think, and I hated it. I could not get it to do what I wanted it to do. I had blue stacks on my computer for a while in 2015 and I now have braillesense polaris, But I think I prefer the Braille note apex. Can someone please tell me what commentary  screen reader is? I know that it’s a very customisable screen reader, but I don’t know much more than that. I like the idea of downloading new sound themes though. Someone I know had their sound theme to the voice over sounds from iOS. Is it possible to make your own? Imagine having the grand theft auto five sound theme for the menus?

Re: Switching from ios to android, some advice?

I have a samsung s9 plus and love it. It has stereo speakers, and no physical home button, but the home button is still where it typically is at the bottom center of the phone, with a recent apps button to the left and a back button to the right, both of which are also not physical. I really like having a dedicated back button as it makes closing out ads and backing out of apps much easier and I hear people myself included back in the day complain about not being able to close out an ad without going all the way back to home.Speaking of the home button, at least on this divice, you can have it give you tactile feedback when you press it, and increase the necessary pressure to activate it so you dont accidentally trigger it when your phone is locked.Generally speaking, the android experience is highly customizable to your own preferences, so you may find yourself fiddling with other apps to find what best suits you. My first smart divice was an ipod touch 4th gen that I used for about 3 years and bought over a hundred dollars of apps and games before I had to get a phone replacement which ended up being a hand me down of my dad's samsung s5, and man it was like a whole new language back then and accessibility wasnt even as good back then as it is now. But it took me like a day and a half to learn the basics, everything else came with time. Every screen reader should have it's own tutorial in settings, accessibility. What remains the same across both platforms is the swiping to what you want, double tapping to select it, double tapping and holding to perform a long tap, and touch to explore. Everything else is different depending on your screen reader of choice, so no screw or scrub jestures. If you do go the samsung route and decide on using voice assistant, then there are just about as many jestures as their are on an iphone, but they're going to be all new. I encourage you to stick with it a while and think of it as a chance to explore a new toy and learn its ins and outs. We have a lot of android users now, myself included, that you can turn to and ask question or help problem solve if you are stuck on an issue, and you can find me on post 67 of the share your name thread for a more direct inquiry if you have any. I won't sit here and tell you that android is a superior platform, because I've been a part of both worlds, and see things to like about both. What I will say, though, is that it's not impossible to learn and use, and you can be just as productive on one as you can with the other. It just takes some learning, like everything else.I hope that helps. I also hope you have gotten to enjoy random adventure roguelike 2. For questions on that or for more game recommendations, please feel free to look me up like I said before, or send me a pm here and let me know somewhere if you do.

Re: Switching from ios to android, some advice?

I have not gone back to apple and I doubt I will any time soon. Here were some of my reasonsThe new home button. This one, I could get used to. It is true that most modern androids don't have home buttons either but you just tap or double tap at the bottom of the screen. The openness of android: Okay, I'm a geek. A hardcore geek. And I love messing with stuff, changing things, you get it. Apple did not let me do that as openly, or at all.As I said those are a few reasons. I do not hate apple. I repeat. i do not hate Apple. I use Android for a phone, I still have an IPhone for things like the blindfold games, though I find myself using it less and less. And in all honesty, why does it matter why RTT wants to switch? Maybe it's price. Maybe it's accessibility. And does it really matter? I think we should just be giving advice on what phone, not saying, "well I tried it and hated it." Not everyone is the same, you know.

Re: Switching from ios to android, some advice?

@ogomez92:Still, why is this a big deal? If RTT wants to switch for whatever reason, we can only give suggestions as to what is a good startingpoint and other Android accessibility. The prices of modern iPhones are skyrocketing, right? So if RTT wanted to get a solid experience for cheeper then I see no problem in a switch.Just out of curiosity, why did you go back to iOS anyway? The point being, if the only reason a switch is being asked for is because of the home button, I'd agree since I haven't seen many Android phones today with physical home buttons either, but if there are more reasons to do with it, again, go for the switch I guess. There's also the factor of Android being more customisable ETC. If RTT were to genuinely use this to his advantage then again, go Ahead. Like he said, he's interested about Commentary Screen Reader, no problem with that.Admittedly yes, Android can have a fairly steep learning curve, though that obviously depends on many factors based on the person.

So you odn't like new IPhones because they don't have a home button? That's very lousy. The new screen swipes are more comfortable than the home button, and face ID isn't that bad once you get  used to it, even though they say they want to implement fingerprint sensing in the future again. really, if it'sn just the home button, it's not that big of a deal.

If you are going to go Android, buy a pixel device so you get the accessibility improvements first. If you want a non pixil device with an SD card slot or expantion, try to get a beta testing compatible device, so there's a smidgen of a  chance that you will continue to get Android upgrades E.G. If you want a smooth transition, go the Samsung rout. Most of their devices are affordable, even in a 3RD world Country like mine, and there phones, at least the ones I've owned are quite durable. Only fucking up after a year with the screen going completely kaplutz. And theoritically, I could have continued using the phone, because Voice assistant was still functioning perfectly. I've never had a Google device before. Maybe my next phone will be a Pixel device. Most likely a 3 series, because I highly dismiss the thought my parents would get one of thoe for me lol. Eitherway, there are many topics where this very subject has been discussed extensively. So you can maybe search it up and get much better ideas and insights. Unfortunately for me, it wwas the other way around. Sammy to iPhone.

I dropped it on concrete several times, not a scratch! It also has many features such as squeeze to wake up google assistant, finger print reader, headphone jack, and it ships with android 10! . If you have and questions feel free to reach out
