Hello, Everyone, I have a proglem with newly-release Three-D Velocity, namely, TDV 2. The game simply crashed when I played mission mode. However, when I loaded the game, it said an error had occurred at the program and it immediately closed. Would you mind telling me how to fix the known issue. I am sick of playing it again and again. I reached the third recarnation of Julias. Thank you.

Hello All and specially Munawar,I posted this in the Issues Page on Gitube but got no answers and since I found this topic here I thought I would also post it here and see if I can get some help or suggestions.So here is it goes:I'm playing it on a PC running Windows 10 Pro 64 Bit and Am using a T.otas PS3 Flightstick and the problems I'm having with the game are:1.Every Time I load the Game I get a error message saying there was a error mapping the keys or they have been mapped with a older Game version which makes Me having to assign keys to the Flight Stick every time I want to play. I deleted all folders I could find related to the demo Game I was using previously.2.If I select a type of Game, lets say for example Racing Mode I can play it for a while and sometimes the game just freezes, sounds keep playing but i cannot do anything with the controls, either using the Flight Stick or the keyboard and have to close the game.3.If I se
 lect a type of Game and after playing it for a while I want to change to a different type of Game and click on start a new game it will always play whatever I was playing first, for example Training Mode...4.I cannot trottle down or deactivate the Afterburners... I can trottle up using the flightstick but it always goes into full trottle even if I barely touch it and automatically activates the afterburners. I can of course just activate the afterburners by pressing the corresponding key. But when I want to slow down the Plane and use the Flight Stick to trottle down it works as long as I'm twisting the rudder but as soon as i release it Airspeed goes up again and the afterburners kick-in making it impossible to manage fuel and of course slowing down the Plane for landing...

Do you know if the game is still being worked on? There are a lot of bugs in the multiplayer mode which makes it less fun... Hosting a server is not good, because it needs to be restarted all the time to make it work as expected, so currently, because I haven't seen any updates or any announcements from Munawar, I have shut down my server.

Ulices. Oh, most certainly not. Vps's utilize machines far superior to that of a Raspberry Pi. Dedicated server machines, you know, something that google's server could run on given the proper space. A raspberry Pi is a creditcard sized computer tat can be your server for anything. And most servers are commandline based. Bgt ones usually are ran on linux through wine. Linux is the premiere operating system of choice for servers, because it is a solid, lightweight operating system, and completely free unlike the near obsolete windows server and its ridiculous license costs. So it's honestly up to you. If you have a system with amazing specs, have somewhere to leave it unattended, and don't mind doing so, use that as your server. A Raspberry Pi is a completely silent machine, no fan by default, micro sd card for storage, and take up far less space. But if you have a location in your house that you can reserve for you server setup, then use that.

You mentioned something called a Raspberry Pie. How can you such a thing? I heard that it is a physical server. If I were to use a VPS like Linode, they might already have the Raspberry Pie in their data centre.Also, why are server consoles written with a Command-Prompt-like appearance? I noticed this with the TeamTalk server and the TDV server. I don't know if other games like STW and RS have that same kind of configuration, since they were written with BGT.

Alright Ulices, what you need to do is simply install Mono and Aspnet on Linux. Depending on which distro you plan on using , you should look up specific instructions. Then, you can run the same executable for the server. The server is programmed in .net, and Mono is an open sourced implementation of .net. The server runs very well on my Raspberry Pi. And the thing with Linode, is running a server in-house is the same thing. Linode, as with any vps, basically matches you to someone, somewhere, who owns a machine with the specs that you specify, dedicated to hosting your server and yours alone. However, it is still just another computer, just not one that you may be paying for outright.. Munawar could've ran the server on a Raspberry Pi if  he wanted to and you could still call it a dedicated server. The reason? The only difference between this implementation, and the dedicated server, is the possibility of multiple servers. Which is why if you, as you said, wanted to mak
 e rules on a server, they would be for that server alone. If someone were to kick a user from a server, they could just hop on another one or make their own.

I'm interested in knowing how to make the on-line multi-playing mode fair to play. For example, how would you warn players, move them if they got stuck, check their movements and chat logs, etc if they were cheating? Since it is open-source and the server is running on a home computer, rather than being centralised and hosted on something like Linode, I'm not sure how this would work, but I'm interested in knowing how this can be done. The only problem with this is that you will have multiple servers and several admins for each one. It would also be great if we could make maps, since that has become quite common in the latest games.

My problem is, that I can't make the plain fly straight ahead. It always turns a bit to the left or to the right. Only a little bit though, but it still does it. That is especially anoying, when I am trying to land. I mean, playing this game with a joystick has definitely it's advantages, since you can move way faster. So, my question is: Do you have the same problem? And can you remap the buttons on the joystick? IN every other way, playing with a joystick is a lot of fun. You can do stuff like barrol rolls and the split S really fast.

I grabbed the version available from Github just a few days ago, but there is no option for online play.I thought I might have to finish mission mode first, but that didn't add any options, and mmultiplayer mode isn't mentioned in the documentation, even though the sounds for it are present.I tried running TDV.vshost.exe but I think that's a component and not a standalone application since it gave me errors and closed.No windows firewall alerts or anything either, again, the options for it aren't even there.Now I'm just confused, maybe I only get to use it if I payed for the game previously? but I thought it was fully open source now...Either way, the mission was surprisingly fun, I especially enjoyed landing on the aircraft carrier, diving at a steep angle in order to avoid weapons locks, only to pull up just in time, and dodging both antiaircraft fire and air to air missiles while waiting for my cruise missile to hit 
 the target, it's heart poundingly exciting. The boss fight was also really fun, very high speed and packed with action, even though the weapons cooling port thing didn't seem to matter much. Though I do wonder why air to air missiles suck so very bad when it comes to damage, I can never even destroy 1 entire fighter with all 8 hits.  I find it a bit absurd that the best weapon for destroying fighters quickly are the guns, considering that historically, jet powered aircraft use them so seldom that several designers over the years have tried to remove them to save weight and reduce drag; only to be told to leave them on just encase.At least it takes several hits with them to take a craft down, that does make sense, but having to use them as the primary air to air weapon is just, odd.Also, why can you destroy fighters with cruise missiles, and why can you destroy ground targets with air to air missiles. I understand the hole game mechanics VS realism for a fu
 n playing experience balancing act thing, but some of this stuff is kind of unnecessary, and detrimental to both facets of the game's design, especially the weak air to air missiles, considering that in real life it usually takes 1 or 2 to take a fighter down, and they don't have guidance anyway, so that just makes them doubly useless.Not that I'm saying they should have guidance, mind you, but when you combine the two downsides, it makes a third of your offensive payload totally useless.I'm also not sure how to use interceptors, I get a solid lock tone when locking on both a cruise missile, and the fighter that fired it, and I'm not sure if it makes a difference which one I fire at.  Either way it never seems to do anything, do I need to be facing the missile at the time? I don't mind trying that I just don't know if that's what I should do, it's very hard to atempt that in the moment. LOL.

Having just tried thisI do wish for two small changes1. The ability to refuel in MP (maybe it's there, I dunno, I was too busy running away from missiles to see if I could try landing or calling a tanker)2. Bots if possible in MP for when nobody is on the server3. I was in a 1vs1 (fun as hell game by the way, I love it...and I played a ton of Ace Combat and this gives me a fantastic Ace Combat vibe), and when my opponent died, I was put back to the menu as expected, but when I got shot down I was given the spectator mode option, and I hit yes, then the game locked up, I couldn't do anything.Oh, one more thing:This isn't a bug report but seriously, more people need to come play this game. It's fantastically underrated. I'm currently rocking hte keyboard/headset getup and doing good. Auto elevator and LTS for the win.Okay. Maybe this is out of the scope of what could be added, but I would love to see a co op
  mode.One player is the pilot/gunner, the other the RIO, and the RIO is the only one who can use the radar. Every other bit of the HUD is usable by the pilot but you have to work together as a team to get anything done. Imagine a co op story mode and co op deathmatch modes. It'd be interesting at least.Also, that beeping and lock tone is gonna haunt me forever, Thanks a lot guys...:) Thanks a lot for giving me a cold sweat when I heard that tone, dived down and wound up cratering from 10k feet down to 0 in about 30 seconds with full afterburnersyep. That's how my game ended.Actually, for the bots would it be simple to bring over the SP modes and allow us to add bots when creating a game? Even if it's only 2 or 3 bots or 4 bots total that's still 5 planes in the sky at any given time. Just my thoughts honestly, I'm liking the game a ton.Now for my big question. I see a .tar.gz.Does that mean I can somehow run the game on
  my Linux laptop with my plugged in flight stick? Just thought I'd ask beforfre busting out WINE and mey plug in gaming keyboard.

Hello all. So, Now, every time I run the game it crashes and no log is generated. I have reinstalled the game just to see if it will fix everything but still, no go. I don't even know if there is a fix for this. I can't play mission mode, or  even go online at all. I'm using the latest version of windows 10 and this is what the thing says, every time I start either mode. Three-D Velocity Three-D Velocity has stopped workingA problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available.

Hi Milos,When Captain Chase tells you that you can land, with f1 or the tab key and then the letter t you can see how far the beacon is, it is in the center of the runway. Align yourself as you prefer. Either with the rudder (left arrow and right arrow), or with the banking (chift left arrow or chift right arrow), or in barrel roll what I use when the track is away (alt left arrow or right arrow).Next, go down by putting your angle at 30 degrees (f4 or tab and the letter n), and under 1000 feet opens the landing gear, letter g.Try to always check that the beep is continuous or as high pitched as possible, and help you to f1 or tab t keys. The runway must always be within 5 miles of you and your speed to maximum 400 miles, minimum 340 (checkable with f2 or the tab key and the letter s.Beware of the barrell roll, it is faster but will change your altitude. If you use this method when you are away from the runway, be careful, check your altitude (tab and the 
 letter q or f3).Oh, i was forgotten! In mission mode, if you want to land on the Aircraft carrier, you only have 2 miles for landing, but your speed must be between 608 and 700 miles. I advise you 620, it gave you little more time cause you've to be fast. Carefull, you reach the Aircraft carrier at 300 feat!Hope to have been clear! I've already taken another backup. Ah, and i've seen two planes that have fled very far, and then disappeared, impossible to find them after this magical trick but all choppers are done. Am I tackling a bug? Maybe my backup have also the problem ? Maybe I forget something?And when i try to load a save in mission mode, my game crash. Only the load save game in main menu works.

I had the same problem. I'd suggest starting your game over, destroying the traininggrounds, the airbase, any fighters you come across, the power plants, the choppers, the bridge, the radar stations, and finally Brutus.

Hello aviators and audiogamers,I had fully completed the mission in tdv1. But here I have a problem with v2!Warning, the sequel could be a potential spoil, you are warned.I destroyed the guard towers, the tank and then the power plant in the ZE19 area. After the cut scene I took charge of the choppers quickly and here is my problem. No scene is triggered, nothing. Even when I move into nearby areas. Still, correct me if I say bullshit, but after the power plant I should go to explode the bridge then the radar stations, but why nothing happens? Do I have to go to a specific area? It's been two days since I've been going around and around, it's frustrating. The bridge is above a lake, if I remember correctly but I may say other bullshit. Could someone point me in and give me a trick? This is all the more frustrating when I think I finished the mm in tdv1.Hope someone can help me,greetings !

As large as the master package is, you shouldn't be getting such slow downspeeds. Github doesn't decelerate downloads *coughs* sendspace, but if you're getting close to dialup speeds, your network must be either having a bad day and misbehaving, or there may be too many devices using bandwidth at once.

Actually, I can safely say that git clone --recursive doesn't actually download the binaries submodule, unless it's just my Git installation being, well, should we say, a git?  Anyway, it's alright, git clone, the download the binaries separately. You'll get the same result. As for running the server on Linux, it's pretty straight forward. My instructions come from running this on a Raspberry Pi, which as we know is an Arm-based system, but the same should apply on an x86 linux box or vps. Nevertheless, no matter how you get Mono and asp.net installed, you download and run the server in the same way. Mono and asp.net instructions Keep in mind that if you scroll down past the commands in each step, there is a procedure to download a script that will automate those commands. You'll see what I mean when you read this setup guide.Ok, so assuming we have Mono and Asp.net installed and running, let's make the server directory.mkdir tdvsrvNow to download the fileswget https://github.com/munawarb/Three-D-Vel … Server.exewget https://github.com/munawarb/Three-D-Vel … Server.pdbwget https://raw.githubusercontent.com/munaw … exe.configNow to run the server. cd tdvsrvchmod +x TDVServer.exe./TDVServer.exeThe server is now running. I'm assuming you've forwarded ports  and 4445 already, so I won't go into that as those instructions are router specific. Type the ip address of your router into your browser, and it's all you from there. I will say that if it asks you for tcp or udp, tcp worked for me. Ok, now that we have our server running, go ahead and run the game, and the connect to your ip address. If it places you in the hanger, you're good to go. The good thing is that we're running the server natively, no ExagEar desktop or any other emulation, so not only are we guaranteed the proper hardware support, but we also have the benefit of passing commands straight through and getting output via speech, whether you're running headless or running with speakup. Note that obviously if you connect to the server without letting people know that your server is, uh, online ? you'll be the only pilot in the air, and that can get a little boring, right? Flying around and shooting at nothing is a good way to test your server's connectivity, but once you've had enough, go ahead and crash that thing.  Besides, you being the only one on the board is not a proper stress test for your own server. Sure, if you have two computers or two virtual machines you can always run a second instance of the game to simulate other folks on the server, but unless you have a separate keyboard or are extremely good at switching between virtual machines in realtime, that's still not good enough. Having ai on the server is not only a good idea if there's no one on the server at the moment, but it's also an excellent way for admins to stress test the server to see how much it can take, without having to worry about pissing other people off when they're on the receiving end of a slow connection should the server setup be faulty. Note that this generally doesn't apply to vps's, but if you're running the server through one of your own machines, unless it's an actual dedicated server or a really good machine with killer specs that you can leave unattended, do keep that in mind.

Hello, munawar. We had some lags with friends while playing tdv in multiplayer, i hope i got fixed in this version. It's really cool! I hope other multiplayer bugs will get fixed, such as, for example, crashing of tdv when another person enters the game, or lags such as radar not locating a player when there is in flight, at situations when you can see them it's notworking.

I would imagine it has something to do with lines like these: at TDV.GUI..ctor() in c:\Users\munawar\projects\Three-D-Velocity\TDV\GUI.cs:line 81  Since I doubt you have a user directory on your computer called Munawar and thus, you probably haven't extracted the code there.You could attempt to fix this by doing a find and replace in the code with the directory you have the code stored in. Just be aware that if you do this, you'll need to retain the directory structure for the TDV code itself.
