Re: looking for Bluetooth headphones with the minimum amount of latency.

So it's quite confusing, and I guess there haven't been many third party tests to confirm this yet, but here's the deal with low latency on the Iphone.Basically, no the Iphone doesn't support APTX LL, or even regular APTX. It has it's own codec called AAC, which apparently sounds a bit better in real world usage than APTX anyway, but has a medium amount of lag still, just like standard APTX.However, things change on the Iphone 8 and X, because they support bluetooth 5. Which (on paper) reduces lag allot on it's own even if your using a regular codec. So if you've got some bluetooth 5 headphones and a device that supports bluetooth 5, and your using a decent codec like APTX or AAC, then it (should) be almost as good as APTX LL is on versions of bluetooth below 5.Which would be great, because apparently their are no phones or laptops that support APTXLL out of the box, meaning that you have to have an external adapter if you want to use it and that's kind of annoying. But again reviews are mixed, and part of the confusion comes from the fact that phones automatically start video a little late so that the audio syncs up properly even if the codec is laggy, and that some phones/headphones may be implementing bluetooth 5 better than others, as it's still pretty knew.So it's worth a try especially if you can get a good return policy so you can test it out for your self, but it's not a for sure thing.

Re: looking for Bluetooth headphones with the minimum amount of latency.

Sorry about that. For some reason, I thought you was wanting something for home use. On the go, Bluetooth is your only real option then seeing that most if not all on the go devices use Bluetooth. I have heard ok things about the apple air pods, but do not know if you would want those. I have a set of bose, but those have to much of the delay for you. Surviverable, but still a bit much. Anyway, I will be keeping an eye on this topic. As a side note, does the IPhone support APTX LL? Matter of fact, what phones support that?

Re: looking for Bluetooth headphones with the minimum amount of latency.

Defender, Thanks, I'll check this out.CW, as Defender said I'm looking for something that would work on the go, which is really the only reason I've been looking into Bluetooth; I spend a good chunk of my time weekly just untangling headphone wires and want to reduce the number I have to carry around.

Re: looking for Bluetooth headphones with the minimum amount of latency.

That's nice enough for home or office, but not really mobile, and doesn't eliminate wires. Maybe that's all he needs though, in which case good idea.

Re: looking for Bluetooth headphones with the minimum amount of latency.

Correct me if I am wrong, but I think you might wish to avoid Bluetooth for this use do to the delay. Instead, I would suggest something like this. defender, 40 MS sounds almost to good to be true. Anyway, I much prefur a wireless system type headphone with less than that when it comes to delay.

Re: looking for Bluetooth headphones with the minimum amount of latency.

Okay after doing some research, here is what I'd do.First go to your computer's device manager, find your bluetooth device, hit context menu, choose properties and find the advanced tab.Tabbing in there should show you the manufacturer ID, which will help you find your exact device, since computer makers will often have slightly custom versions of a generic product. Now you can look up your exact bluetooth module and find out if it supports the "APTX LL" (low latency) codec, by looking for spec sheets and such.If it does, then you won't need an external adapter, otherwise... go online, to amazon or new egg or bestbuy or what ever, and search for USB bluetooth transmitters (not receivers!) that include the "APTX LL" AKA "APTX Lower Latency" codec. If they don't say it in the product description somewhere, than just look for low latency adapters in general and examine the specs to find it.Now you can find some headphones (if you don't already have any) that also support that codec. That should hopefully fix your problem, since most bluetooth headphones are rated for 170 or 220MS lag, where as APTX LL ones can get to 40ms or slightly below.
