Re: Update 2 of the Public electronic Game library has been released!

I have one. I don't have these types of old games, but I can make you a recording using it connected to the speaker of my phone or fire tablet. These things are great if you do sound design, because you can also use them to pick up electronic noise from just about anything. They are also cheap.

Re: Update 2 of the Public electronic Game library has been released!

We've been trying to find one of those but we've been getting conflicting info all the time about if it will be satisfactory or not. Some of us would gladly try it, but we haven't looked hard enough, I suppose. Nevertheless, the pickup coil would be a great step up if we could get it working.

Re: Update 2 of the Public electronic Game library has been released!

not needed, an EM pickup coil would do nicely placed over the speaker.

Re: Update 2 of the Public electronic Game library has been released!

I mean, we could always get the direct recordings if someone was willing to install a headphone jack on every single game they own. And we can get lossless of that. Actually our foreign ones were in wav, but now are in ogg too.

Re: Update 2 of the Public electronic Game library has been released!

@post 3 we started doing this in 2016 and back then we didn't know any better. Also, the majority of the recordings we make are lossy to begin with due to them being done using the Voice Memos app on IOS. And honestly I don't see the benefit with turning things losless now that we have this much data stored already. If we started out using flac in the early days, maybe, but not anymore. It's too late to change now. We have been making creations and skits with these sounds for well over 3 years now, and sure it may not be top quality, but it isn't dreadful by any means. @Post 2, here's a direct google drive link instead, hopefully it should work. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1q-u7Ys … sp=sharing

Re: Update 2 of the Public electronic Game library has been released!

I would never use a sound library that was distributed in a lossy format. As soon as you start manipulating things, you lose even more data.

Update 2 of the Public electronic Game library has been released!

Update 2 of the Public electronic Game library has been released!

Hi all, My friends and I have been working on and off for the last few months, and now we have made enough progress to call it a new iteration. For those new, the public electronic game library is a sound library containing sounds and mechanical workings of battery operated games such as Bop it and Simon, primarily in ogg format, which makes the file sizes smaller. I strongly recommend you read the readme.html file if you don't understand how a game is played, and to know more background about who has been involved in the project. I would even recommend those who have already downloaded an earlier version of the readme to take a quick run through of it again, since it has been changed somewhat. Also note that Even if you have downloaded an older version of the library in the past, in case you don't mind using some more data, I would recommend you download the entire 7Z folder again. This is because the two versions are not compatible in certain cases, games have been moved around and if you try to merge the two, you will encounter duplicates. Here is the change log for this update: Noted certain Member's public Keybase folders below their descriptionNoted some in page links to jump to relevant sections inside descriptionsNoted any reference to the Pocket clear simon from 1988 changed to 1998, relocated the folder names as suchNoted the original simon remake 1984 turned out to be a simon 1997. The real 1984 simon has been found, but hasn't been added yet.Noted additional details in the Simon trixter descriptionsNoted 2009 as date for 1 2 3 stompNoted 2012 as date for TapzNoted 2003 as date for Bullseye ballRelocated Simon trickster US, Tiger Challenge wand and Tiger star wars Brain Warp to Soon to be replaced folder.Completed Pocket Simon 1995 samples and mechanicsCompleted Star wars simon samples and mechanicsEnhansed set of Top it samples, relocated to Hasbro folderEnhanced set of Groove it samplesCompleted Bratz Bop it samples(mechanics are the same as original 2002)Completed Simon Carabiner 2010 samples and mechanics, relocated the older version to Carabiner Simon 2014 folderCompleted Super Memory samples and mechanics(Simon folder)Completed Hyper dash samples and mechanics(Wild planet folder), relocated the old music to a separate folder.Completed Woody's Runaround Roundup samples(Wild Planet folder)Completed Bop it Baby Yoda samplesAdditional prototype Brain bash samples(Tiger electronics/Bash/Prototype folder)Completed Sorry Simon samples and mechanics(Misc games folder)Additional Bop it extreme mechanicsAdditional bop it tetris mechanicsAdditional Bop it maker mechanicsAdditional Tiger challenge wand mechanicsAdditional Pocket Repeat mechanicsAdditional Simon Optix mechanicsTo get the latest version of the library, go to either my keybase or Daniel's Keybase, athttps://keybase.pub/zseli22/EG_Public_library/orhttps://keybase.pub/daniel_ingraham/Electronic%20Games/Enjoy!
