@ironcross32 (post 5) is correct. It's a hard power off. After examining it happening after uninstalling Jarte, I guess I can say that wasn't the issue. The problem is founding out what the issue actually is. A USB port on my computer seems to be a little loose, and I've noticed that when devices have been plugged in there, a power off occurs some time afterwards.

Meh, I don't care how old something is. If it works, I'll use it. If there's something newer and better, I'll probably switch. Both libre office and open office are crashy little hot messes on Windows. Also supposing I use ms office and pay for the subscription. I definitely ain't using it for work purposes, so the only thing I need is literally the word processor and the spell checker, that's literally it. Google docs, I'm just not a fan of their editor. It jumps and skips around, and reads things twice sometimes. So good ol' reliable Jarte is where it's at. Takes like two seconds to start, and I feel that's screen reader mode more than anything else. It's just enough to do what I need.

user-mode apps can't power off your system by crashing.  They can power off your system by explicitly calling the function for that, but not by crashing.More likely whatever is causing system instability is taking out Jarte on the way down, but before Window's event tracking stuff turns off.

Jarte Crashing for Anyone Else?

Hi community,I was using Jarte a few minutes ago, when my computer unexpectedly powered off. Completely. At first I wasn't sure what the issue was, but I looked at the reliability troubleshooter and found that Jarte had stopped working before each power off, leading me to think that Jarte was somehow the issue. I went to the Scripts folder of the appdata, and found Jarte Script Helpers.ahk. I ran it out of curiosity, and my computer powered off again. I noticed that documents were in the crash recovery folder, and Jarte was currently open at the time as I tried to run that file again (this time removing the crash recovery documents) and Jarte remained open. I'm posting this here because I believe the software is abandonware now, but has anyone else experienced this? If there's no way around this issue, what other programs would you suggest that are similar?

Well no, object nav can't find any buttons. And I think with the newest ps4 firmware, you can't use older software for PC.What I found out though is that the Mac version of PS remote play is completely accessible, at least the interface. Hey there.So funnily, I also can't even connect to the playstation network.I wanted to set up my ps4, did the software update to 8.0 and wanted to log into the PSN.Well, I can't even get to the login screen because it shows an error message that the network might be unavailable or to many people are trying to connect.The website and the ps app for iOS seam to work fine, but I can't set up the account on the ps4.I also can't install games due to that.Any news if there is something wrong there?Greetings Moritz.

Anyone getting the error has occurred message, is it possible that your PS4 is not on the current firmware version that is compatible with this updated app (which were both released a couple of days ago)?  I've just, after a few tries due to hitting incorrect buttons, managed to get it working as seamlessly as it was previously.  Just a thought and best of luck to those still having issues.

I'm guessing the American psn is having issues. Go to:www.playstation.com/connectionand you'll see that they're having service interruptions. That might be the cause of the problem... I just restarted my computer and double checked the app and system firmware were both updated. Same results. This is so weird...

Hi there,@1: back in times, when I was a kid, I used to help my mom out with hanging clothes after buddling. Our washbox was at some distance from the hanger, where clothes were supposed to get dry.So it was quite helpful, when I was taking things out of the machine, preparing them to right state and giving them to my mother, so she could just hang them at the right place, without need to walk here and there.The machine was fully under my control, with my mother just asking for next and next clothing.This concept is very similar to how iterators work in Python, but also other languages, like C#, Rust, Kotlin etc.For example, when processing a collection, like an array, or a list as we're talking about Python, instead of you messing with indexes and driving through the list, some people found more intuitive and safer to leave this to another object, which would be in control of the array, and which they could simply ask for next and next element, until there were no remaining things to get out.Another good thing on iterators is, that they are not limited to just navigating through a collection for example, but can also do some processing on the way.During process of training neural networks, for example to recognize an object from image, this object is present on images from what we call a training set, which is image by image present to neural network in order to let it learn how does the thing look like.And because some modifications to the images to make them look differently from others can be done even on computer, like moving the object up, down, brightening it, darkening, etc. we can easily make much more images from our set, than the amount we had initially.This is done by generators, which are infact the same as iterators, just syntax is different. You simply make a collection of images and wrap them in a generator, which is then called for next and next image during training.it will return not just images that you gave it initially, but also their artificially modified versions, so you don't need to waste disk space with precomputing them.I don't consider implementing an iterator to be any superadvanced, I did it few times, mostly for ai purposes and it was quite easy.But it's true, that you most likely don't need it in gaming, as well as many other areas.Best regardsRastislav

the iterators were the only complicated thing I was looking at, because I didn't know you could do the players[ind].name. Everything else like lists, classes, I can grasp ok. @2 thank you for telling me the ind system does work in python. BTW, w3schools has some really amazing python tutorials. Unfortunately they do not state which ones are beginner, intermediate, or advance ideas. The good news is, I do like python more than bgt. Finding what I need is so much easier because python is of course way more mainstream so google searches help, and someimes I even go into the pygame or lucia .py files to find new functions I can use, and I copy the useful ones into a notepad document with a summary of each one. I find the dir function to be spammy and object presentation with NVDA does not allow me to view hem word by word or line by line. If people here use the dir function do you have any tips

I think it should be mentioned that I've been programming for 10 years, and I've maybe written 10 custom containers total.Generators are useful for other things.  But in general you don't need them.  here is the list of all the common things in Python you don't need for a game or to worry about when you're getting started, that you're liable to come across in various tutorials and on the internet: Generators, list/generator comprehensions, decorators, properties, classmethods, metaclasses, any method that's like __x__ that's not __init__, the itertools module, the functools module, writing custom context managers (but not using them--the with statement is very useful in some contexts), threads, asyncio, gevent, numpy/scipy, the debate between oldstyle and newstyle classes (which doesn't matter for Python 3).  probably a lot of other stuff.  But those are the big ones.In general you don't need to know more than 20% or so of Python to start making games with it, and if you're learning something and you're going "wow, this is way more complicated than BGT makes it" you're probably outside that 20%.  Lists are arrays, dicts are dictionaries/maps, tuples are a non-BPGT thing, but you can do almost everything ever with just those three and some classes.

@3 iterators are basically the same thing in most languages. python has iterators iter() in python takes an iterable and returns an iterator. It's used implicitly everytime you use a for loop. So, a really coll advanced thing is if you implement iterable for your custom data structure, then you can use a for loop to iterate over it like you would with a list or other built in data structures.But, yeah, you will not need to implement your own iterators unless you want to design your own library for some cool new iterable data structure. The built in data structures are more than enough to develop a game, web app, desktop app, automation script, and 90% of the things you'd be interested in.

Indexing should work fine.  You can totally do player[ind].name in Python if you use lists for stuff.Iterators don't go backward.for i in range(5) is consuming an iterator that goes from 0 to 4.  It's not hard to use them, you just drop them in where range is in your normal for loop and instead of getting numbers you get whatever the iterator gives you back.But that said, writing iterators is kind of super advanced Python and you probably shouldn't be worried about it.  You can do entire games without them, and it'll even be good code.  There are useful abstractions and stuff, but the main point is for stuff where you're building up big lists in memory and then iterating over the list and then immediately never using the list again.  However, an example:def my_iter():
yield 2
yield 4
yield 6

for i in my_iter():
print(i)Will print 2, 4, 6.

Is anyone else mind fucked by iterators?Lol I kind of understand them, but I really don't understand having more than one and each one being on different paths. Believe me, I tried looking up analogies for this, it is confusing as hell. What I understand is you can use it to view the previous, current, or next element. This is useful in things like classes or other objects. Unlike bgt where you can type player[int].name, here you have to somehow use iterators: iter(car) and then the object is basically represented as a number: car.name, where car is the 23rd car in the list. That is like all I know, and don't even ask me about how the next function works, I haven't gotten their yet, but I know you can use a for loop to do it, or while loop, or do loop.

Yeah, thanks for the info. I did not have any luck with installing Youtube plus plus, but on the other hand successfully got Cercube working with Altstore. Never thought I would have such an app running on Ios lol. Certainly useful. I was thinking of jailbreaking, and that might be something worth doing at some point, especially if I find good tweaks I would really be interested to get like this one.

IOS updates can be made for the only purpose to remove an exploit that Apple have just been notified of, breaking the jailbreak.And jailbreak type. Depending on what type of jailbreak you use (either tethered, semi-tethered, semi-untethered or untethered) the jailbroken will be disable at certain events, though note that the modified code is still the same.

@nidza07, In short, it's a jailbreak tweak, although you may be able to find an IPA for it though if you did, I'd still recommend jailbreaking unless you use Altstore, which you mentioned. You may also be able to use App Valley to get it. That's worked for me before, but your mileage may vary based on whether the thing's revoked or not.YT++ emulates YouTube premium features. That's the simplest way to put it so yes, background playback is most certainly a feature. You could also try Cercube. It's the same idea and it's just something else to try in case YT++ doesn't work for you at all for whatever reason.

@Simter, I like that YouTube++ has both a track position bar that you can swipe on, and rewind and fastforward buttons. I like this because you can set the values independently. For example, you can configure so that the buttons will move you back and forward by 10 seconds, while swiping on the slider will adjust by 1 minute. I will also say that you should try double-tapping, holding and dragging to adjust sliders. This works at least on my iPhone 7, but I haven't had any luck on my iPad Air 3.

Nah, I don't miss that at all. The only reason Android ever had these buttons is because on Android, sliders didn't work right and could not be properly managed with Talkback until Android Oreo or close to that at least. One thing I like about the IOS apps is that stupid buttons like that don't get in the way of swiping order. If you want to change how much the Youtube slider goes by, you can do that in the Youtube settings. Changing the double tap seek time also effects the voiceover slider. So you could, for instance, make it go by 10 seconds or even by a minute.

It actually took me longer to find it than it did for me to play the entire main part of the game.Because the computer could have totally won with a submarine. totally

anyone else come across this bug in Time of conflict?

Hello,So I was playing TOC today and yesterday, having a great time on the battle of Birtain map. Though I admit, once I got 4 cruisers and 2 battleships and starded bombarding the hell out of the coastal cities... well... Things got a bit one sided. But that's besides the point.As far as I can see, using alt y and exploration around the map I have captured all the cities on the map, but don't actually appear to have won the game?Is this a bug in the game or am I missing something.Many thanks!Commander general wannabe dardar

Not right now, as the new client is being developed together with a new API, but as soon as that is done, the API will be documented and then yes. The old API no longer has documentation as they don't want any new games for the old client.

I'll give you a little easter egg of sorts. All games are open source, and you can adjust the speed of bots as you wish. However, this probably has sideeffects, probably there's a reason for setting speeds as they are. I never played extensive games like this, so do it at your own risk. First, find the game you want in app data, roaming, OnToys, games. For example, in your case you would find the file called 101.gam. It's a standard zip file with a .gam extension, so open it with something like WinRar. Now, find the file called game.ini. In there, you will find severl lines. The ones you are interested in are minSecondsComputerThink and maxSecondsComputerThink which represent the allowed time for virtual players to pick a move. So, make sure to edit both carefully to one by editing the number after the equals sign, save the .gam file and you can play. You can go below one too, 0.1 being the lowest you can go. Note that of course you can play only offline like this. If you try to play an online game, the game will auto update from the server to avoid modifying the code and cheating. When you want to play your modified version, simply choose the offline game option or press ctrl shift n, find 101 and uncheck the update checkbox to play your local game.Good luck!

Haha, you just need to get better at it. Noughts and crosses is a simple game, once you get how it works you'll realize that the bots are so hard because there is only one way to play the game, essentially allowing the one who played first to win the game. Mile by mile probably has the best designed bots, I've looked at the code and that's exactly what the human player mostly would do, I suppose that shows it's a simple game.

Oh yes of course, you cannot play games with a bet with bots. Bots are meant only to help you understand the rules better, they are very basic and once you are familiar with the game in most games beating them is quite easy.

Anyone can see your profile. You can play with bots, you just have to add them. I don't understand what boxes, it does not matter since both clients on the PC and phone are identical. However, you are registering on the old site for the old client, which is windows only, so it does not matter if you have a phone. In football, it is not possible to lower the crowd volume. Try to use a louder speech synthesizer or decrease the volume of the client itself.

No, you do not need to pay to play. You are paying only if you want to play games with a virtual bet, and even then a friend can always send you the virtual currency instead of buying it. Slightly confused what do you mean by a different deck. If you are talking about card decks, those are mostly for different visuals, so there is no point for blind people. However, you do that by pressing alt, going right to settings and choosing the option cards then choosing the one you want in the menu. Note however that for a few months there was one broken deck called C3, if you have that in the list do not choose it as it will make card games unplayable until you change it. If you do have it it's recommended to delete it from the cards folder of the OnToys folder in app data. The deck has been removed from the server and new users won't be getting it.

Regarding rainbow, that is not quite accurate. If your hand is full, meaning you have 10 colors, then offering a drop will cause the other person to automatically accept it. However, if they also have 10, in that case the drop will go to the rain. I like the soundscape of this game a lot, the only problem is it requires a few more people to be fun. 1 V 1 is usually not so interesting and the game can easily get stuck. Regarding football, rules for this game have been translated and are available when pressing f1 in the game, or by going to http://tiflo.space/en/games/audio/football/

I do! I will explain both to you. Well I explain as much as I know of football.Football, where it says from the forward, back, left or right, ususally pressing that direction will get you to another one of your players.You want to get it to the 8th, 9th, or 10th.They are the strikers and have the most chance of scoring.Now in rainbow. You place colors in a rainbow, obviously, but here is the catch. To be able to place a color, arrow to it in your list of cells, but you can only have one of that color. You can press ctrl+space on an empty cell to take a drop from the rain, and on a cell which you have four of, you can press space to merge 3 with the rain so you only have one. Otherwise the only option is shift+enter. It sometimes gives the other person a choice, but if they are full, or decline 2 times in a row, then the second declination will cause your drop to automatically merge into the rain.The colors are played in the order red, orange, yellow, green, aqua, blue, violet, and must be played in exactly that order, from red to violet.HTH!
