After all, this'll only be a launch year for Series X and PS5. I don't think most people will drop 3, 4, 500 bucks on a console, at least not for just one thing? I myself usually wait until the price comes down and then buy stuff when there's lots to choose from. You know, when that superstar KO mode came out, it was accessible right out of the box, meaning all the menus were. They took the time to code the menus witht he proper options. It's a shame that they just can't go through and code it all. Of course, we probably won't see much, because new consoles, but I'm going to try and get that new xbox series x console. I don't really have many blind friends because of exactly what you all guys are saying. Too many negative Nancy types in the blind community. When my grandmother told my mother I should be learning with blind people to be in a blind world, her response was that "he lives in a sighted world and should be with sighted people." My mom and I don't agree on everything, but I at least have to respect her for that. I know one blind person, whose name I will not mention, who basically told me, that if I didn't want to get sued, that I would have to caption my Madden videos. While I am a full proponent of universal access, I sat in shock for about 15 minutes, processing that information. This isn't the only time I've seen developers never associate with the blind community however. While this wasn't a game of any kind, I'm sure people remember Flexy. Blind people got really bent out of shap, when we were given a specific ap that worked with Voiceover, and it wasn't a permanent solution. This backlash didn't come from people on this forum, but came from people Like John Mossan, and other big names in our community. The end result? Flexy dropped all of it's ties tot he blind community. When I wrote to them later on expressing my wish that the product would remain accessible, what I was told was, "Accessibility is no longer our priority." That is what happens when blind people really make developers angry. Hopefully we'll still see some improvements as far as accessibility goes. I don't see why not.Truthfully I'm way more interested in NHL 21, but Madden has always been where we tend to see accessibility features get added first. I doubt we are going to get talking playbooks this year unless they have found a way to process text to speech locally instead of doing it via the cloud like they did last year. The topic that some of you are referring to, was a discussion of what accessibility features should appear in later version of Madden. A lot of us said that the playbooks should be made accessible, and that being able to know what receivers were open on what play would be helpful. There were some, who were very out-spoken regarding menu narration, not understanding that Madden unlike a fighting game, is practically, entirely made up of menus, with a few seconds of player movements after selections are made. When Karren took up the results of community, and said that Menu narration with playbooks would be worked on next, that's when it all went downhill. It was Karren and her developers who fixed the kicking system in Madden 18. TO see it all go away possibly, breaks my heart. For example, if an Iphone game doesn't have voiceover accessibility built in, I first explain to the developer what voiceover even is, since some people might not legitimately not even know what it is, and then I suggest politely that they include in their game. The same with console games. And I agree with you too, that I love playing video and computer games. I've been an avid computer and video gamer since the age of 4 years old. Video games first, and then I began working on computers at the age of 5, with the old apple 2gs. I'm also going to include something else for some of the angrier folks to chew on. And this has been said before and I think it needs repeating. Accessibility in video and computer games is a privilege and not a right. Developers don't have to do this for us, they're choosing to do so because they genuinely wish to help us. It's because of them that developers are leaving and it honestly saddens me very much. While I'm not a coder at all, and absolutely do not profess to be, I agree that some sort of measure should be put in place to stop these sorts of negative posts because they hurt our image. And a very polite request if it's all the same to everyone. I.e. not banning a member outright but banning them from posting to specific threads, or posting certain buzzwords so if they're destructive towards a particular game or developer, and it has the possibility of legitimately harming the community's image, they can't post in specific channels as easily. Even if they got creative and tried skirting around the buzzword restrictions everyone would know full well the post should not be taken seriously.
