Firstly, my wife absolutely loves your game . It's one of the few games she can play due to injuries that prevent typing for extended periods of time. She was wondering if you might consider adding a bakery and a potter in a future release.I also think I've found a bug. When I restarted the game for the first time, I had a quest to sell 1000 ladders for an increase in lumberyard product sale price. I unlocked ladder for some reason before restarting, I guess to spend all of my cash. However, when my wife restarted, she had two other quests, to sell 5000 logs for cheaper lumberyard expansion and to sell 1000 timber. Did I somehow miss out on these two quests by unlocking ladder before I should have?Thanks. This game is pretty neat even though I'm not usually into crafting.

Linux has two kind of screen readers, there are some for the console and, currently, one for the graphical desktop environment. In Linux we have "Desktops", that is, a set of programs for making tasks (just like the full GUI in Windows). Every desktop is made by using a toolkit (Like GTK for Gnome Desktop environment, or QT for KDE, there are others that use GTK or QT like LXDE, XFCE, Mate...), the point is that every desktop changes the look and feel of the full graphical environment. Right now there is the Orca screen reader, that comes packaged with Gnome (that's so because GTK is the only toolkit in Linux that comes with a full accessibility library) and I think gnome is the most accessible environment nowadays. There is also Mate, based in and old version of Gnome, that is also accessible with Orca. You can install orca in other desktops because Orca is just another package and you can get it with your package manager, but Orca has been designed as a part of Gn
 ome, and accessibility is guaranteed only for this environment. As mate is based in a version of Gnome, it's very accessible too. Before orca, there was Nopernicus (or however it's named), but due to the differences found in every desktop environment, they discontinued the project and that's when Orca was created for the Gnome Desktop environment Only.Also, there are other kind of screen readers, that are designed to read only the console. You know in Linux you can use the desktop of your choice, or you can just use the console. As usual, there were so many screen readers for the console too, some of them based in different ideas or trying to do different things (yasr, sbl, even BRLTTY can read the screen if I am not mistaken), but currently the screen readers that are still mantained are Speakup and Fenrir. Fenrir is relatively new and is being used mostly in Arch Linux systems, that's why probably it's not so easy to find links to the screen re
 ader so easily. The main difference between speakup and fenrir is that speakup is a Screen Reader Only, made in C, and is, in fact, a Linux kernel Module (it runs in the Kernel space), while Fenrir has been written in Python 3, includes a set of new features (different clipboards, spelling correction, etc) and runs in the user space, it means, you don't need to run anything in the kernel space for getting it to work.Finally, here is the link to fenrir's repo: See fenrir in GithubBest regards,

@Mikrima, I just picked up the game again this morning having seen the updates and I'm loving what I'm seeing, from the production slot to the improved vo sensativity, great job, indeedd I will admit I was slightly waiting on this update to finish a quest . Now that the general accessibility bugs seem to be getting fixed,I'll be interested to try the game out and look at the gameplay. For example one thing that occurs to me is at the moment while you produce a lot of products, there is only one place to sell them, ie, the city. it would be cool if there was another merchant to check or chances of finding better deals, or perhaps even randomly generated orders that you could decide to fill or not. For example someone turns up and says "I am building a new wall around my village, I need 100 timber and will pay you 1000 gold" No
 w the canny player will know that is less than the average sale prices so will not take that deal, however at another point you might get the same order but an offer of 2000 gold, which is obviously a much better idea. This would require people to be far more awre of the value of things and calculate as traders, and of course would mean having something different to tangle with when you opened the ap sinse if the  orders were created new each day with some randomness in the amounts required, people would get a different experience with the gamme other than dynamic growth we have now.Just some thoughts, then again as I said I've not got as far yet so it is entirely possible this, or something like it is already in the game anyway.

I've not had a wide audience for my work before, and I now know I'm going in the right direction.One of the reasons I pushed to finish the game is that I was on leave, which is now over. I know that I should have removed the resource entry from the database when a specific resource was exhausted, but it's not a game-stopper. It's been a learning experience and I intend to focus on a new game that's much bigger, more complex and sophisticated. May take some time though.

hi. I have enjoyed the game a lot sofar, the transcendence research is a nice way to win the game. My strategy is to automatically fulfill standard contracts untill I have around 200 cargo ships, by then I have a steady income and I can focus on colony building. As for pirates I prefer to use my destroyers to kill them if they demand all cargo because that could be a lot of money lost.

I was going through the ship database and was highly confused by some of the offensive ratings, though I had to smile at the Mayflower having either 800 or 1000 attack, can't remember off the top of my head.@Mastadont: I personally always get 100-300 credits for automated cargo runs honestly but is it worth keeping a fleet of 3-X ships back to manually pick contracts for that strategy? I've not been able to repeat my success of 100 ships at all though oddly enough, usually run into 2000 strength pirates which is worrying.

@Freeman, it's what we're here for. I do hope the news on the front of site also helps let more people know about the game. There is definitely a desire for games like this in the Vi/blind gaming community, since thus far the closest thing to 4x games we have are online browser based ones which usually reduce down to "who can minimax faster" and don't really have much by way of exploration or even randomly occurring challenge since more are just based on steadily and constantly increasing resources and are very heavy on player run guilds and politics. For this reason I'd suggest perhaps considering expanding the game, or at least solving some inequities that people mention, since this will be a game lots of people will want to play, whatever comes up in the future.Btw, I'm wrestling with my conscience about whether to pinch my wife's windows 7 machine and pplay this, since the game really sounds like my sort of thing.

The server list wasn't rtr's downfall. Its a combination of 2 factors. 1, their was no dynamicly updating server list, so players offen couldn't find a server to play on, and 2, the downside to fps games is that they can get boring, reel fast, specially considering rtr didn't have the extra's such as explosives like grenades or rockets, or even ground vehicles. Their is only so menny times one can play, run around the map and get shot in the back before its not fun. Even the portible version of audio quake, which connected to an already created server that was already up for most of the time became a ghost town after a while, that's what happens when a games charm wares off. Non central server games and the approach itself are not as bad as people make them out to be, and in fact if you want my advice, I personally think central servers are better deticated to online M M O's, not first person rtr stile shooters. Besides, making a central server f
 or an fps game has only proved to cause more and more headakes, your better off just leaving it to the players and adding in the necessary ban, unban and whatever other commands you need, then leaving it up to the players.

Then he probably doesn't have enough money to pay for all those free servers if we were to take him up on that offer. Even vps's add up depending on your specs, and I would expect that he doesn't have like 50 raspberry pi's for the purpose of doing this, lol! And besides, that is, *someone else's server* and this free offer is being made. If that isn't dodgy I don't know what is.

I've managed a few sites and even more servers that run other services other than an http/s web presence, so, while of course you should choose what fits your situation and usage case the best here are some things I've found to work well.First, the site itself:As noted above, one way you can manage your own website is by coding it by hand. This means you'll need knowledge of (at minimum) HTML, managing a web server (if your hosting company doesn't do this for you), css, and maybe some java.With this method, you would be writing out your pages by hand complete with HTML tags for tables, links, and forms; any css themes you want to include (to get a similar "feel" across pages on your site); including any java code (if you want ads or usage stats), etc.This method is as accessible as your operating system's "notepad" program. You would upload your oh-so-carefully handcrafted HTML pages and any other files to your
  server (hopefully not over ftp); if the files were placed in the proper directory the web server would start serving them immediately. Personally, for any site that's going to have more than 3 or 4 pages that will be updated even on a semi-regular basis, I think that's too much work. So moving up on the "less work, more gain" scale, you have static site generators. A bit of background first though: Most sites (including this forum!) aren't static sites. That is, there aren't html files sitting on a server somewhere that (to use this forum as an example), have the text of people's posts. Instead there is a relational database somewhere that has posts as a field in a row of that database. When users request a page (http://forum.audiogames.net/viewtopic.php?id=21432) for example, a php or other wsgi (web server gateway interface) compliant program takes the data it's g
 iven (URL parameters, post body, headers), and builds a response. In the case of this forum, it looks at the specific topic (that's what the id parameter is), and pulls the posts for this topic out of a database and returns them in the form of this web page your reading now.After that digression, you might understand a bit more about "static" and "dynamic" web content. When you have a static site (like in the case of hand-coded HTML or using a static site generator), web content is not pulled from a database and no extra script needs to run to return your content; when you request a file, all the web server has to do is send it to you. For dynamic sites, a script must run and (based on things like what the client is asking for in the URL, post body, etc), it must build an HTML page and send it back.Static site generators (ssgs) are tools that make creating and managing "static" sites easier and far less painful. I use Nikola, which lets you write your pages in a multitude of markup languages (markdown, ReST, even the markup this forum uses I believe). It then converts that into valid HTML, handles themes, handles comments with several different backends, etc. All in all it's very nice, as you simply write your pages / posts in whatever markup language you want, run a command and then upload to your server (Nikola can also automatically do this for you, you just need to tell it how).There are drawbacks to this method, of course. With "dynamic" content management systems like Wordpress and others, all you need to make a new web page on your site is a web browser. With Nikola (and any static site generator), you either need that software on the server (and if so you'll need root access to it, more 
 on that in a minute), or you need it installed on your local machine.As mentioned above, the ssg method has advantages, the biggest (in my opinion) being security. Since your website's pages are just static files, an attacker would need to compromise your server and be able to modify or create files. In the case of dynamic sites, every request to a site runs a script that needs to do some work to return the page; this gives an attacker chances to break things (e.g, inserting a new post in your database when they shouldn't be able to, etc). Dynamic sites (as mentioned above) have to run a script / program that (based on the data it's given) does some work to return the requested content. To automate a fleet it's under standing orders and navigation.I have a sneaking suspicion that the contract prices are based on reputation? I've had higher standard prices initially then I've had 2500 credit contracts without a carrier or 800/400 credit contracts at sociopath.Also, one thing I was missing out on, hopefully you'll add a way to sell ships instead of scuttling them. Also, I had to laugh at 20 Mayflowers owning a pirate fleet. Battlestars, anyone?That being said the automatic contracts aren't THAT awesome in the early game IMHO, from my experience stick to manually going through contracts and picking them, personally I try to go for the 1 jump contacts each time. AlsoMining is awesomely good for steady income until I managed to lose my mining ship, somehow I still got mining income from a scout, so not sure how that works but not gonna turn down free credits. One last thing, fighters are incredibly useful, I personally 
 make a point of capturing them and any alien ships too. Course, problem with that is I don't make enough on contracts at all. Still, this game is insanely addicting...

I believe by this list Dash just means audiogames, iegames with sound, so not browser games or most muds, though even there with Alteraeon and possibly even something like cosmic rage the line is a rather fine one, since alteraeon with the MushZ pack virtually is! an audiogame.

So here is a little more on the  problem. It started happening around two days ago,   Somewhere  around 10 PM CDT.  I try to open the game, and it  just didn't want to start. I was off the Internet at that point. So I thought it might be the problem.  Yesterday,  I got online, and I tried to open it again. it worked. so I thought my problems were  solved.  However at 9 PM it happened again. The game just wouldn't open.  This morning I tried again, still the same result.

Agreed with the privious post. Then people wouldn't have problems with accessing the game, so, would have more time for reporting really important bugs if there will be any, than just telling that the server is down and it's impossible to play / test.

I had a lot of trouble getting the demo too, the page is like really weird. I'm using Jaws, and it doesn't read everything.Is there a way you could make the demo available without going through the check out? I could understand the full version going through the purchasing thing, but the demo is free, so it should be available without going through the cart.

Well Dash the problem is that even on that basis, something like Alteraeon would still count since with the mushZ pack there are more sounds than in most audiogames, and the same is likely true for other muds with dedicated soundpacks like Cosmic rage. Then on the other side there are quite legitimate multiplayer games that just don't have many sound effects, heck the ucon games for Ios don't have any, and even games like lost cities or Quentin C playroom only have a few.To make your list make sense, I would personally suggest splitting the games up by genre, eg, multiplayer action games, muds with soundpacks, multiplayer card or traditional games, multiplayer stratogy games  etc.

@Dragos and @amerikranianWe have encountered this problem too, that the app closes immediately again at start. We've been spending today working on this, but are having trouble reproducing it reliably. Like you said, it is random. All over sudden it will work, then it will not work, then it will work again. We're currently starting the game 100 times an hour in the hopes that it will fail to load. As you can guess, if you actively want it to crash, it won't...I'll keep you posted.

Hi.The answer to your first question is no, unless you can get a ps4 from the US.There are a lot of playable games for the ps4. There are more playable games for the ps4 than the XBox, but if you care about the accessibility like the TTS, you should go for the XBox. If you want more playable games, you should get the ps4.

Why can't you just implement OpenSSL AES-256-cBC encryption? That can be brute forced, but it's top-of-the-line government-standard cryptography and it's probably the best and strongest encryption algorithm available at the moment. You could even triple encrypt the data you want to encrypt, giving you a possible AES-3-256-CBC. Don't ever use AES-256-EBC though!

@Nocturnus, I'd recommend you learn another page instruction language like Textile or ReStructuredText. Then go get Pandoc and convert it to HTML5. Or, you could also just learn PHP...@Blademan, Java isn't used in web site design unless your writing applets (which are extremely restricted) or if your using a Java Web Server or writing your own custom web server. I think you mean _javascript_. _javascript_ is used a lot (although I'd say PHP is far better than _javascript_ is, IMO).

Also, I would highly advise you *not* to use Linux as a graphical environment at the moment. Orca is barely being worked on and, as a result, accessibility has fallen drastically, and no one has bothered to ever fix it because Linux developers, apparently, don't care about it. Windows and Mac OS X are the only most accessible OSes for computers. iOS is probably the most accessible for phones, and Android for Tablets.

SLJ has it right on the money. You won't be able to get the ps4 to believe you're in the US, so you won't have access to the TTS features, unfortunately. The game deserves so much attention...I'm not very far in the game yet, but I look very much forward to see what I can unlock in the future. Hi. Congratulations to the developers of HVR, it is quite amazing! Keep up the good work, and as post 66 says, it's really addicting.Just a thing and that is ammos are a bit expensive. For example i have pay 15 dollars just for 5 sniper or ar15 ammos. Or i have to pay 55 dollars just for 12 14 calliber ammos. (12 or 14, i'm not sure lol). Please lower the prices a bit.And another thing. Please change the 5 stat points per level to 10. I am at level 32 and i still can't do much to robots in country cide. Or at least make them a bit less strong.And A huge bug that had annoyed all of the players: Items are spawning over the walls, (Out of the map. For example at 102, 50, 0 in the forest map.) HI all,I'm also using jaws and firefox, and have no trouble on the demo page. Maybe what you could try is to 1. Go to the demo page, 2. click on add to cart, but don't go to the top where the cart header is, but instead go right above the spot where you add it to the cart, and click view cart. Then you will go to your cart, where you should see the game. At that point you should be able to check out. I have downloaded the demo from the website.I have played and propably I finished this demo, so I think that this game should have more traps or maybe ability to kill enemies.It is boring for because we can only jump throught the same obstacles, collect ramdom coins, nothink more.I should have more content, I think.
