Let's say I take the pacman concept. I make my own sounds for the ghosts, the dots, the intro, credits and any exit music, as well as the little level intro bumper. Then I write it all myself, all the code is mine and not taken from anywhere except where properly licensed. SO, that means I get to use libraries I have the license to use, or which are publicly available and I am abiding by the license terms. SO, all my sound, and all my code except for libs and stuff, but the game logic and all that is mine. Any sounds I am abiding by the license terms, etc. Then I can release it and I don't see a problem with that. It's when people release these games without acknowledging where they come from, saying they did this and that when all they really did was reworked some source code, mostly just changing a few constants and variables to make it feel a bit different, then replacing some of the sounds. That, I think, should be punishable on this forum.

@Mirage I did look at erion recently, but the changes seemed to have played merry hell with my character, I suddenly had had a lot of my quest gear vanish and was in a random  in the temple in the middle of a sort of amazonian looking town. I don't mind the game changing, but I was a bit confused to say the least especially with regards to what quests I had or hadn't done and what items I still did and didn't have. In particular, I was a wee bit disappointed at all my hard earned quest gear going bye bye, though likely if I check the game out and just run through the newbie tutorial, even though I'm wy over powered for it I'll be okay. My only personal issue with  Erion was the speed of progress vs unique missions since levelling took a lot of xp, which often meant lots of grinding in familiar areas before you saw anything new, plus I tended to run out of missions around level 10, then find a huge jump to level 35 or so before I got the next one (and since grinding one level could take ten minutes to half an hour this was quite a ways off). Apparently the game once had much faster progression, then the xp caps were changed, but not the levels new missions appeared at, though it is entirely possible in rejiggering the newbie experience, the lower level experience got some changes too. Oh and yeah, Erion has a super nice community, with lots of fun minigames destractions and little asides to look out for which keep exploring interesting.@piller223 runto is like a way of instantly zapping your character to a zone. For example, if you have to go to the valley of the elves, "runto valley" will do. Your character will zip there at super speed, and wind up at the entrance of the zone, I sort of think of  like a startrek teleport system crossed with sonic the hedgehog .

Yeah I think they should just be limited a bit, not taken completely out. Where I ended up getting frustrated was when I did nothing else besides fight rockets. My suggestion would be limit the min reload time of the launcher, then also limit the max amount of rockets that can be queued up, so, say I used 10 enemy callers. Well, using 3 would net me rockets firing from both sides for a good solid 2 minutes, so I wouldn't even wanna think about using 10. But, what this could do is say, no more than say, 5 rockets per caller per side, and at a minimum, 5 seconds need to pass before launches.

Dude I'm sorry to derail your topic, but I just wanted to say how much of an impact your music had for me growing up.  You worked on some of the most iconic projects of the era, and your music will always be associated with that time in my life and with those games for me, to the point that I can recognize most of your tracks just by hearing the first few seconds.Your compositions, for me, elicit the same feeling of nostalgia that tracks from Mario, sonic, or Pokimon would for someone who grew up with those games.Plus, they were just awesome at conveying the mood, from heart pumping action to calm, reflective  cutscene to sneaking around stealthily waiting for the next conflict.I know from personal interactions with people that your work has helped to inspire some blind kids to become keyboardists or take up electronic composing as a hobby.Do you happen to have any sort of archive of those songs?  I'd happily buy it on bandcamp or something, and also direct friends who grew up with the same games to it.  I can understand if some of the music you worked on can't be released do to featuring work from other composers, or the commercial rites still remaining with the game's developer, but what ever you can offer would be appreciated.Some of my favorites are the background music from treasure hunt Area 2, dark destroyer menu music, the second dark destroyer background level track, the calm background/cutscene track from treasure hunt, the battle music from treasure hunt, and the track named ms4-1.ogg from TDV2, as well as the track named background6.wav from Tarzan Junior.And those are just from the games I know you worked on...

Yeah, goat is nice, though I've only ever had it stewed. My lady loves fish,  so  we tend to eat a lot of fish, and of various kinds. Pollock for example is wy nicer than cod or haddock and is becoming a much more common thing in Britain (we just had some for dinner yesterday). I'm personally less keen on mackerel or kippers, and tuna I only tend to like if prepared correctly which it often isn't.Mullet and munk fish are two absolute favourites of mine which are quite unusual, indeed at the same West Indian restaurant where I had the curried goat, they do an absolutely amazing monk fish  stew with muscles. One other odd thing which I do like is  Haloumi cheese. This is a thick, rather rubbery goat cheese with a salty after taste (originating in cypress. The key thing about it though, is that it is one of the few cheeses that does not melt. This means you can have it fried, grilled, or better still barbecued, indeed these days a lot of vegetarian breakfasts are using it instead of bacon, which is good sinced its much nicer. A friend of mine barbecued some a while ago which  was absolutely fantastic!

@3In a lot of ways, what they did is no different than how anybody else makes music, either with trash cans, stomping, hitting inanimate objects, etc. only in this case they use bacteria found on the human body to mix music in an arbitrary/convoluted way. I can't say as i'm overly "hyped" by it, since as you say there's something lost in the translation from the original source, its more that its just as interesting to see what other people are up to and the different ways they happen to mix music. Its sort of like Rube Goldberg Machines, pointless complexity for its own sake can be interesting in and of itself sometimes, or maybe its that there's more to the overall performance besides the end result of the music, such as the interplay of the mechanics and methods used, be it complex mechanical engineering or in this case biological sampling.Anyway, if they were to convert raw DNA strings and bind the different values to instruments with modifiers based on their Epigenetic _expression_, that would be especially interesting since it would be much more of a raw _expression_ of the base information itself.

What if you and your buddies want to play privately, but none of you can port forward? You're out of luck at that point.I was thinking about this earlier when I tried and failed to help someone port forward. Why not take the existing network code for servers and find a way to integrate it into its own standalone program? This is probably easier said than done and might take a while, but I'm willing to wait.I've discovered that you can enable spectator mode and allow other players to play while you sit there and host the server. Why couldn't the server program do this? You'd have to figure out a way for the game to actually start when everyone was ready, but it would make it so much easier. If one server is the best idea, I'm more than willing to host the official Crazy Party central server. Just modify the program to point at my server when choosing an option like connect to official central server.

How the hell did he decrypt them anyway? Honest inquiry, I'm honestly not going to go using them or anything but I could've sworn those were password protected. Even if he had a pack extractor which is what the kids are running around with these days thinking they're so tough and all, aren't the individual sounds encrypted as well? I doubt the guy's got the know how to do a memory dump. Just for the record, this guy left the sounds folder open for all to see, compiled the game yet forgot to remove the includes folder! Lol, this honestly amuses me more than it should, but this guy didn't even try hard enough lol.

I did it. Through the help of an aira agent, we worked together and had fun doing this.  You need to pay attention to what slots are filled. I hate the fact that you an't yet see or tell if somethingn is one or two slots but yeah I did it and almost completed my  first real tower of time. Anyway off to bed I go.

I found a bug when you reach 0 hp you can still playyou don't die automatically unless enemy hit you till negative hp so if you are releasing next updateplease fix it so it make sensebecause I got by accidental so someone could test it for correct me

One thing I've noticed is that if you have something like a friendly bot or are possessed, a lot of times it'll cut down any cacti that spawn. Normally this is all well and good, but it's very likely to be fatal if that cactus spawned because a troll also spawned. You would think the goal of any AI would be, at the very least, not to get itself killed. Of course there's a problem here, since the AI probably doesn't take into account that if its actions get you killed, it's going to effectively die as well, since when you die, it's game over, and the entire field—and everything and everyone on it—is destroyed.
