Hi, just thought I would pop in and post that snow race beta 4 is almost ready for release. This time I have managed to shootdown the compatibility ishues on systems. If the game can't open in full screen mode, it will ask if you wish to run it in windowed mode. Also I am happy to report that snowboarding gear will be in this version, and it is even possible now to listen to your fayverit songs while racing. Its here, beta 4 of snow race! What's new? Several bugs have been fixt. Hopefully squoshed the compatibility problem on systems. If it persists, let me know. Added snowboarding gear and a new board. I'm also working on another project in my free time. It started out as simpply a remake of the old dm side scroller from bgt to pure basic, but apparently its out grown that and become almost a full game of its own. I'm thinking to release it soon, but I will just say a few features. Their's extended use of the tractor beam module now. Its required for completing various parts of the game, such as hauling heavy machines into place. I did use the free sl audio engine, so you will get the same environmental effects you had in death match 2. Their also is a fully functioning save and load system as well. And yes, you will be able to drive the ship this time, pluss a small space vehicle as well. @vlad25, I always give news when something major has been implemented in snow race or any of the games i'm working on. As I explained earlyer in this thread, development was stalled for me to finish the lighthouse summer program and sort out personal reel life matters. Rest assured i'm still working on the game, just a lot slower than I was when I started work on it. When beta 5 is ready for release, I will post it here, and post it on the reality gaming site. Talking of that that place needs major cleaning up. I will see if I have time layter today to post up a traelor of the dm side scroller remake I mentioned before. And no, it isn't dm. It started out as a remake of dm's side scroller from bgt to pb, but its far past that. You will see if i'm able to post up the traelor.

So to explain. This started out as a remake of the dm side scroller, but as it grew it slowly became a worthy entry to the dm series, and a fresh reboot.Note. The dark matter won't explode directly on you. Here's a tip. When you start it, wait for the first explosion. If its to the right, don't run. If its to the left, keep running until its stopt. What I do is I stop right in between when the sound is stopt and when the next explosion happens. If its on the right I stop, or else if its on the left I keep running again.

@darth scorp That was quite a nasty death their. Which chapter is that on? I have beaten the entire game on playstation 3 and now working on dead space 2 on a new game pluss. And yes, the game was modeled around dead space, because not only of its atmosphere, also of its awsome background story.

You are moving left and right, fsl though doesn't seem to take that into effect until you are very neer an object. What I do is just keep the ship left until your clear of the asteroid field. And apparently that bug is in the shuttle mission as well if you don't land it properly. I'm gonna need to take a look at what's causing that one. @vlad25 hold shift and press j.

It will only activate when your right next to a structural failure. The first one I think starts at 88, so you need to be at position 87 in order to activate it. @vlad25  rappidly tap enter when the tenticle grabs you and you will throw it off.

I think your at the fuse jenerator. In which case, just keep going left after they spawn to the right. Shoot until the first 2 enemies are dead, then go right and keep shooting until the exploders are all dead. You should be able to ace that part with out getting hit if you stay to the left for the 2 first enemies.

The fuse isn't on level 3. I'm confused. If you mean gravity field jeneration, just pull the 2 items into position 65, then activate the console. Then once the area depressurizes run left until an explosion blows you down to the area with the 2 cargolifts.

@hanif, to get past the dark matter wait for the second explosion that plays after you access the security computer. If its too your right don't move. If its to your left keep moving until the sound is stopt and wait for the next one. Only move when the explosions are on the left, not the right. And to activate the jetpack, first travel to the edge of any structural failure. Hold shift and push j. The first structural failure is at 88, so activate your jetpack at position 87.

eYes, we here at reality gaming are perfectly fine with people writing fanfiction about the series. In fact ethin and I are starting a wiki that details all the worlds, ships, and everything we have come up with the series so far. Well shift is aiming mode, and I was trying to keep the keymap easy to use. In effect shift pluss space, while using control wouldn't exactly be easy, in fact it would give enemies an easy lunch. I had the ability to run in pre beta builds, but I disabled it. I can always restore it back if enough people really want to run from enemies.

Beta 2 has been released! It sports several bug fixes, including the bug fix for dieing at the asteroids part. Note, read, importent! An ammo system has been added. This means that medkits are more importent than ever. The price for medkits have been reduced to 150 credits, and ammo packs are 50 credits. Remember to stock up at the galactic network terminal. Enemies now drop either credits, medkits, or plasma rifle ammo clips. To check credits, press z. The colony of inderion 9 has been added as well as the firestar cruiser, glimmer of hope with has a full turbolift system. And yes, the custom missions system. Multiplayer is currently in the main menu, but it doesn't fully work yet as i'm still working on the server app, but you can play custom missions offline. And most likely a lot more changes I forgot. Yes, though you can play the custom missions at any time. To get past that part where their on both sides, just keep walking slowly to see which way they are coming from. If they seem to get closer stop. If they don't change or get farther run.

Here's a tip. Conserve ammo. q will heal you. If an enemy is at your position and its sound has changed, it has grabd you. Rappidly tap enter to throw it off.

You get credits after you kill enemies. Its part of the 3 things they might drop. If you ever make it onboard glimmer of hope, their's some useful supplies on the supply deck in lockers.

Yes, it was made in pure basic, however free sl doesn't support mac or linux. If their is a way to get it to, I would be intrested into looking into cross platform support.

Hmm. The music is ment to stop all the time after you killed your first enemy. The only other time it plays is if your grabd by a large tenticle. And about the hints, i'm still working on though's. Hints were a recent new feature before beta 1 so though's are still being expanded on.

You can press c to skip the sapi when its talking. It will report your coordinates, but it will stop sapi from speaking the text.

It is my grate plesure to announce that after weaks of hard work, beta 3 is finily released. Please note. Do to some upgrades to the save system that now encrypts save files, older saves from beta 2 and 1 are not compatible. However, their are a few things to make the trip back through red warp's corridors worth it. First of all, a new weapon upgrade system has been added. Currently you are only able to upgrade plasma rifle's damage, but more upgrading will be coming soon. You can upgrade your weapon by obtaining upgrade components, which are scattered through the ship in various lockers. Remember, explore previous areas you have been in before. You might just find something their. Added new main menu music thanks to ks-salutions, who has taken on the task of composing the death match project alpha soundtrack. Fixt various bugs. Added 2 new decks to the cruiser glimmer of hope. Multiplayer has gotten to a workable phase, but i'm still trying to get the objective system to use it properly. Currently you can connect to a server and complete objectives, and here other players on the server walk about the current map your on. And a lot more miner changes I most likely forgot to mention. Oh yes, before I forget. Ethin has added a weapon status key that can be checked with f3. The tips have also been expanded, though they are still a work in progress. OK, just a bit off topic, but its really importent when your adding me to skype. When i'm added to skype, I expect to be treeted as a normal gamer. Asking questions like what slj and assault_freak did are allowed, but what I do not like is A questions every 30 seconds when I barely had time to answer the last one, and B repeated questions when I have already answered something 20 times, such as in the case of something me and my beta team are discussing. If the answer is in the comments and you are in the dropbox and I say read it, please do, don't make me repeat it 100 times, because it not only slows down development and I really hate alt tabbing constantly, but it also places stress on me. I have already blocked the person responcible for doing this after I repeated this exact thing 20 times, but just wanted to make it clear for anyone else adding me to skype that I expect to be treeted as one of you, not as an all powerful game dev. So this is what little i've got left of my source and what I could salvage. 1 is the entire sourcecode to project alpha, the other is a copy of dmnb v1's server in source form, just a month or 2 after launch. Importent notes are as follows if people really, really wanna do something with it.Project alpha requires pure tts and an eax capable soundcard. Because this archive was originally ment to go to the audio games archive and because I made some small attempt to update it, the sounds are missing. I really can't be half assed the effert of putting them back in, nore will pure tts or eax/freesl work on my system so updating this one is next to impossible anyways. You take responsibility for putting the sounds in yourself and updating the code.I do not have the client code to dmnb v1 anymore. Someone else from our dropbox folder mess of 60 something members may have it, the code was modifyed live in the folder before being compiled and pushed out. So if they have it, feel free to happily post a link. This server as previously stated is from a month or 2 after launch, bugs and glitches included. You take full responsibility running this. Want my advice which you don't, don't run this thing on low end hardware. Or at the very least do some optomizing. I have no idea just exactly what features are even included, I had to contact someone who was fortunit enough to make a backup of the server to even get a hold of this thing but from my knolige, the basics are all their, as well as teleporters and the like.Both projects were developed using pure basic. @post18 First off, if you knew anything about me, you'd know game development was something I wanted to do as a career as a kid. Its not like my dislike for the community is exactly hidden either, so i'm doing a tarible job at being a marter in your own words, nore was it exactly hidden when I started to begin with. Pluss, its a pretty tarible choice to escape into. 1, because my mom and brothers are hardcore gamers themselves. 2, I suck ass at most games mainstreem games included. Why the hell would I want to escape into something i'm not all that grate at to begin with, is their some self loathing I should be aware of and that I should get checked out? And lastly on this front, if you knew anything about my past interactions on muds/online games, before dmnb got developed in the firstplace, you'd know that I rairly, if ever, go out of my way to communicate with people on said games, unless i'm spoken too, this was why I stopt playing multiplayer games on a regular basis and took down my youtube channel in the firstplace. I can enjoy games fine with out being informed how much I suck ass or trolled thanks.That said? Yes. It was used to help me with social skills. Specificly with the community I paintbrushed over in the firstplace, so its not like I curled up in a little ball and didn't give it a shot at trying to like the community in the firstplace.Also, your one to talk about assholes I surround myself with, seeing as you yourself have acted like one, you yourself even said I should have still been mad at you after the last time you had a flameout. I hate to tell you but not everyone can just go get up and say, i've changed, i'm gonna go out and do something different, i'm gonna go get new friends. I haven't changed myself or learned a single thing so their you have it, happy? Even if you vollinteer for something, even if you choose to do something willingly, you don't always have the option of backing the hell out. What was I supposed to do with dmnb, tell everyone 5 months in when the bug reports rolled in sorry guys, I can't manage this on my own, i'm done kay thanks by lol? For the record, I suck at writing storys to begin with. Project alpha was a one time thing, developed at a time when I was into dead space. I didn't want to spend my entire life writing the same generic copy paste dead space formula, specially since the game was designed to be absolutely nothing more than a dead space clone. Yes, your right in that I can't handle running online games, and I thought I could at the time dmnb was launched, and it took me longer than usual to finally accept it. Like it or not, you guys have a notorious history of outcasting and picking on those of us who do things sited people do on a regular basis, watch tv, playing video games, you only started discussing mainstreem games and intrest in the xbox on a regular basis once the shiny new accessibility toy was intraduced. 2, entitlement. You pressure mainstreem devs to cater to you when you haven't given them a reason too, just a hey, i'll play this game if this accessibility thing gets addressed. Their were things in life I absolutely wanted but could never ever achieve and do. You can't fit into every circle you want too no matter how hard you try. 3, those accessibility toys you flawnt around. Someone, tell me where I could have gotten those growing up as a kid and why is it that I've gotten picked on for not being able to aford a decent laptop nevermind the ritch stuff you all seem to get like brail displays, expensive note takers, whatever it is that I keep getting told I should have had but didn't. It seriously would have helpt majorly to have that crap in the firstplace. 4, sheltering. Telling us the world is all polite while reason 1 is still going on right under your noses. 5, you kicked me out as a kid in the firstplace, showed me I wasn't welcome in middleschool, and only started to become positive once I began to make audio games in the firstplace. Am I guilty of generalizing? Hell yes. Is my aditude shitty and unwelcome, hell yess. Has the neggitive experiences outwade the positive ones? Hell yes. Am I stuck here? Yes. Is it my falt for trying instead of sticking with what worked? Hell, yes. Am I trying to ruin my reputation and just get it over with because I can't cair anymore? Yes.

Hi, you can ignore that door. On red warp, the hacking doors lead into secret areas which contains a few useful, but not really awsome supplys, and sometimes their's even a text log. The room I think your trying to get into is either the one on the ladder to the left in the large room where the 3 enemies spring out at you. Each aero key matches a specific sound, but the keys arn't randomized. The trick is to memmorize them, like in simen.

For though's of you who are wundering, i'll be soon roling updates out to dm pa as well after the storyline is fully finished. One thing ethin completely forgot to mention, because the bug fix was just applyed today, is the new feature where the game constantly runs in windowed mode, which fixes the compatibility problem on most systems. It also fixes the alt tab problem. I do intend to support this to a sirten extent, but I think for now the focus is just bug fixes. Anyways, for though's who couldn't run the game before, this is your lucky day and have fun.

Because multiplayer was quite a difficult one to implement, let alone maintain with all that work. And its the last release because the more I add to the game, the harder it is to update the code. Pluss snow race really already has all the basics implemented.

When you get in the air, you'll here a clicking sound, this is your boards nose. Hold w to increase it, s to decrease it. The hire you have it, the more tricks you can do. The best thing to do is to raise it for a bit, than lower it. Tricks are done by holding down a set of aeros, like this. Left and up is backside 180. Left and down is front forward flip. Up and down is tail grab. Right and up is rost beaf. And up and z is stailfish. Note some of the tricks won't work unless your balance is right or your nose is high enough. Lower it to something good though for landing, like a medium nose position.

eHi, the story mode and event types like in ssx tricky are going in the next sequel of snow race, snow race out of bounds, which we have already got a heavy start on and implemented quite a lot of new things for. Board park was an intended mode where you had to hit a sirten number of opsticles, but it was never completed thanks to the evil thing known as schoolwork. The thing to know is, ethin was the one who released it, and he's a little new to the clean up thing of go through the code and clean up the bits you don't need in the installer. Pluss, like he said, this is the last release of the first snow race, since do to the limited track structure we used it was getting more and more difficult to implement ground breaking new systems. As for the shop, you can find out how much something is by pressing enter on it. If you don't have enough it should notify you how much you need. Thanks for letting me know about the tutorial bug.  e of it. And uh, @ethin, just slow down on asking people for votes. The games barely come out and it hasn't even had a chance for news to get posted about it since the version is only 3 days old. Intresting. I braught up the trick tutorial and the bug didn't trigger, though I did find one where the music will stop and you need to turn it back on with the options menu if you have it on. Their is a note you should be aware of. A bad download can make the game act really strange, i'm not sure what causes it but some of the bugs sound like it was an improper download since i've tested and can't find them in the stable or testing build.

Hi, the sound ishue is most likely do to an incompatible sound card, since dm pa uses free sl as its audio engine. This is exactly the reason we elected not to use it in the up coming dm nb release.

Hi, the navigation station isn't up the ladder on the bridge. That way leads to an optional side area in the captains quarters. It might be possible to fix your soundcard ishue by attaching a seporit soundcard.

Do you mean the cargo lift? Because when I built it, the only thing between the upper portions of the flight deck and the lower is a cargo lift that goes between them. Then when your on the bridge, their is a ladder, but it shouldn't lead to the navigation station. It leads to the captains quarters, hents that hacking interface. The navigation station isn't up that ladder, its someware down it at 407 0 20.
