I could start it via zopectl...
The daemon process was stopped.
Don't know what the reason was .
Perhaps some work on the server by Enthought http://enthought.com?

[authors] PING Jean: Problems with uploading on the site

2006-03-27 Thread Belzunce Agnes

Hi Jean,

I worked a lot of many chapters.
Some of them are ready for a while but I really couldn't upload them,
neither with Windows, nor with Linux (which was the best way until lately).
The only solution (after a lot of tries) was to put them all in my
personal folder on OOoAuthors. It was the only thing who worked.
Sometimes I ask me if the problem could be about my rights (role) on the
site, is all allright with that or was there a change?
Really weird ... Now I hope there will be a solution, because working in
that way became quite difficult.

Waiting for a solution, I put all the chapters in my folder:

http://oooauthors.org/Members/AgnesB/

Thanks for understanding,

Agnes

I have seen, that you use AgnesB as well as DuffyT68 as your
member name. Your AgnesB seem to have the adequate rights,
whereas your DuffyT68 miss the managers' role ... :( Could it be,
that you have tried to upload your files as user DuffyT68? If you
want, I (or someone else) could give you the managers role for this
user also ... ;)
Have fun
Thomas.

That's the same link as the previous version. Does this mean you

I'm considering replacing the PDF formatted for full-size paper (the one

trying to fix the full-size one. What do you think? Is that a good, bad,
or indifferent idea? It means less work for me, but OTOH it won't be
updated every time we revise a chapter.

It seems fine.

Hi Thomas, Marko

Thanks for caring about my problems with uploading my work.
Thanks Marko, for putting my documents.
Btw, I always use AgnesB for a very long time.
When I first came on OOoAuthors I came as DaffyT68 , then I changed
for AgnesB.

I would delete my first member name, but I don't know how.
Right now I'm unsuccessful trying to upload some more chapters, if it
still don't want to work, I'll be forced to do the same .. that is,
to put them in my home folder, and wait for a cool person to move them
for me ;-)
It's bad that it don't work anymore for me. I've really tried all, with
both my laptop and my laptop, with Linux and Windows.

I can't think some more ideas for trying.
Thanks for all,
Regards,

Agnes

I would delete my first member name, but I don't know how.

If you log in at http://oooauthors.org/en (for example), you have a
link Plone configuration (or so. All the mentioned links could be
vary a little bit. I am translating from my German UI in my
browser ... ;) ) in the grey bar on the top of the side. If you
click there, you will find a link called User and group
administration . After clicking this link, you have the possibilty
to enter your first or last name in the search mask. Then you get
your accounts listed below. Now you just need to click on the box
behind your member name (in this case DuffyT68), where the header
says remove user and then Apply changes below the table. This
should remove your old user name ... ;)

Right now I'm unsuccessful trying to upload some more chapters,
if it still don't want to work, I'll be forced to do the same

Normally you should be able to add the files by yourself, as you
have the adequate rights to do this. I am not sure, what is
happening there ... :( Have you tried to empty your browser cache?
Maybe something weird is there, which is disturbing ...

If you have problems with the removal of your DuffyT68 name, say it
here, and I will remove it tomorrow morning (have done enough on my
PC for today ... ;) ). I hope, someone other like Daniel or Marko
have some good ideas to solve your upload problem ... :)
Have fun
Thomas.

There was an outage this weekend that took out power to a big chunk of
downtown Austin. Sounds like the processes on the server didn't restart
completely. Thanks for giving it a kick.

Yes. It's great that it works that way at Lulu, because no links
break all over the internet when I update a book. :-)

I have now moved all those chapters to the folders in the User
Guide section.

I have no idea why you are having so many problems with uploading
files, but I hope someone will be able to fix this for you soon.

If you continue to have problems, just keep putting the files in
your member folder and I will move them for you.

I have deleted your DaffyT68 username.

Thank you for all your hard (and good) work!
