headings for Horta, Faial.  They are NOT the same.

Like a lot of us, I'm sure, I'm enjoying looking for ancestors in the 
Horta passports. I can read most of the column headings; name, age, 
status, occupation, where born, ship name, destination ... But, 
what are the other column headings? Does anyone have a breakdown of 
these. Maybe I need new glasses, LOL.

Thank you so much Hermano! It's very helpful to know what the headings are
on the Passportes! I see that most of them agree with the actual Passport
(I have one of my Tia's Passportes!).

Hermano.. Another question. Are the numbers given after the age, 
the person's height? If so, are they in meters and centimeters?

Not all follow the same patern but I had a look for one in 1920. In 
order, left to right:

- Dates (year, month, day)
- Passport number
- Names
- Marital status
- Profession
- Age
- "sinaes caracteristicos" Unique charactristics (height, face, hair, 
"sob-olhos" lit. under the eyes, eyes, nose,  mouth, colour). 
"sob-olhos" threw me for a loop, what is so unique about one's lower lid ?

- Destination
- Others traveling with
- Places of birth (islands, councils, vilages) - for vilages read also 
Parishes

- Ability to write (male, female)
- Ship's name
- Obsevations

Had a quick look at others from previuos years and the order is not 
exactly the same!


That is it in a nut shell. Hope that it helps.

Not all follow the same patern but I had a look for one in 1920. In order, left 
to right:
- Dates (year, month, day)
- Passport number
- Names
- Marital status
- Profession
- Age
- "sinaes caracteristicos" Unique charactristics (height, face, hair, 
"sob-olhos" lit. under the eyes, eyes, nose,  mouth, colour). "sob-olhos" threw 
me for a loop, what is so unique about one's lower lid ?
- Destination
- Others traveling with 
- Places of birth (islands, councils, vilages) - for vilages read also Parishes
- Ability to write (male, female)
- Ship's name
- Obsevations 
 
Had a quick look at others from previuos years and the order is not exactly the 
same!
 
That is it in a nut shell. Hope that it helps.
