Re: [Bacula-users] bacula on the qnap.

2014-01-25 Thread Kern Sibbald
Hello,

No, SD-SD copy/migration/virtual full jobs are not available in any
Bacula version.
However I am working on it now, and if all goes well it will be in the
March-April
bacula.org release that is coming up.

Best regards,
Kern

I'm just about (within a month or so) to do it again, since I built
the new version of Bacula and the sds have to be updated. I've been
better about documentation lately so I'll probably have something to
 send you then.

My model for using Bacula on the QNAPs is that I back up to a folder
on the same system, and then RSYNC those to a removable disk weekly
and take them off-site. I use one job per share so I can set
different retention policies for different shares.

I'd been begging for cross-sd migration jobs for years, and I hear
that's available in the for-pay version. I'm actually thinking about
getting it, if they would support the QNAPs too.

I see on the bacula user list that you compiled bacula-fd on your
qnap. Have you posted instructions anywhere how you did it or can
you share what you did to accomplish that with me?

 Thanks

Do you have any experience with the QNAP's NAS and Bacula ?

Any NAS?

FreeNAS allows you to install Bacula.
