Re: [beagleboard] UART to USB adapter causes USB port to fail
Thank you for this! I was able to get it working by externally powering the lidar before starting the BeagleBone. [beagleboard] UART to USB adapter causes USB port to fail
I am using a BeagleBone Black with Ubuntu 18.04 and I am attempting to use an SLAMTEC RPLidar A3M1 which uses a UART to USB adapter to connect to a computer. I was able to get this to work with my laptop running Ubuntu 18.04. When I plug in the adapter, I can see the device appears in the /dev folder as ttyUSB0. When I plug the adapter into the BeagleBone there is no /dev/ttyUSB0 and nothing shows up in lsusb. dmesg shows the following after plugging in: [ 272.262281] musb-hdrc musb-hdrc.1: VBUS_ERROR in a_wait_bcon (89, http://beagleboard.org/discuss --- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "BeagleBoard" group. [beagleboard] Bluetooth Android App
Hi, I want to be able to connect my android phone to the BeagleBone Black Wireless and use an app on my phone that will function as a joystick and send values over bluetooth to the beaglebone. I am looking for something similar to Blue Dot for the Raspberry Pi: https://github.com/martinohanlon/BlueDot Does anyone know of a similar app I can use for the BeagleBone Black? If I were to create the app myself, would it be difficult to interface the BBB bluetooth with the android app? Has anyone had success with a similar project? If you have can you please share any resources used for establishing the bluetooth connection and sending data back and forth. [beagleboard] Can't ping or ssh into BBB Wireless
I have two boards a BeagleBone Black Wireless and a BeagleBone Black Rev C. Recently, when booting my BeagleBone Black Wireless with an Ubuntu SD, the board will light up and in my Windows 10 computer's network connections the Remote NDIS Compatible Device shows up but pinging 192.168.7.2 does not give any response and I can't SSH into the board anymore. If I put an SD with debian into the BBB Wireless, I can SSH into it fine. Also, if I take the Ubuntu SD and use it in my BeagleBone Black Rev C I can ping it and SSH into it. The only combination that doesn't work is the Ubuntu SD with the BBB Wireless. Can anyone give insight on what the issue might be? I think this error may have started to appear when I was changing network settings to try and use internet sharing through USB. -- For more options, visit http://beagleboard.org/discuss --- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "BeagleBoard" group. Re: [beagleboard] Cannot reconfigure pins to gpio
Thank you so much! This cleared up a lot of confusion for me and I was able to get things working. [beagleboard] Cannot reconfigure pins to gpio
Hi I'm fairly new to embedded linux development and I've been stuck on this problem for quite some time so any help would be greatly appreciated. I am using a BeagleBoneBlack Wireless with Ubuntu 18.04 and Linux Kernel 4.14.108-ti-r113. i need to reconfigure the pins that are not by default gpio. For example P8_46 pin which is by default an LCD_Data pin. When using the BBB with a debian stretch image I can use those pins as gpio. However, when I use my ubuntu distro, those pins will not work as gpio. When I try and reconfigure the pins using the config-pin utility I get this error: P8_46 pinmux file not found! bash: /sys/devices/platform/ocp/ocp*P8_46_pinmux/state: No such file or directory Cannot write pinmux file: /sys/devices/platform/ocp/ocp*P8_46_pinmux/state I have tried following numerous tutorials online with no luck. I have looked into using device tree overlays but I always get stuck because there is no slots file in this path: /sys/devices/platform/bone_capemgr/slots This slots file doesn't exist and so I can never proceed. Note: I need to be running the ubuntu distro. Please help.
