[beagleboard] recording audio not working on BBB deb 8.7?

2017-06-05 Thread hussainali0935
Hi everyone!

I'm using beagle bone black and I want to use "Audio cape Rev B" for
playing and recording audio.

I installed debian 8.7 image on BBB and changed the uEnv.txt and added
proper entry in it to load the Audio cape.

Now, audio cape is loaded and i can play audio with aplay utility
successfully. But recording is not working.

issuing arecord command results the below error message:

*arecord: set_params:1297: Unable to install hw params*

dmesg messages is as below:
*davinci-mcasp 48038000.mcasp: Too fast reference clock(24576000)*
*davinci-mcasp 48038000.mcasp: stream has more channels (2) than are
enabled in mcasp (0)*
*davinci-mcasp 48038000.mcasp: Asoc: can't set 48038000.mcasp hw params:
-22*

where is the source of the problem?

[beagleboard] playing audio is work but recording is not work.

2017-05-27 Thread hussainali0935
Hi everyone.
I am using BBB with debian 8.7 image and using audio cape rev B for playing
and recording audio.
I could load BB-BONE-ADUI-02 overlay by adding proper entry in the
uEnv.txt. ( I'm forced to remove universal cape, otherwise audio cape
would not loaded).
After that i could play audio file by aplay command and test audio with
speaker-test utility successfully.
But arecord command is not working. The Error log is as below:

*"unable to install hw params"*

and dmesg log is as below:

*davinci-mcasp 48038000.mcasp: too fast reference clock(24576000)*

*davinci-mcasp 48038000.mcasp: stream has more channels (2) than are

*davinci-mcasp 48038000.mcasp: Asoc: can't set 48038000.mcasp hw params:
-22*

where is the source of the problem?

[beagleboard] trouble with Ethernet link when connecting two BBB peer to peer.

2016-05-28 Thread hussainali0935
Hi everyone,
I've faced with a problem about using ethernet cable, when i want to
connect two BBB peer to peer.
When i connect one BBB through a ethernet cable to a switch or to my host
computer, the link becomes successfully up and i can connect to BBB.
But when i connect two BBB peer to peer, result is different. in this case,
link not brought up and the LEDs of ethernet ports not light up and hence i
can't ping from one BBB to another one.
Some points are here:
1- Sometimes, after a while about 1, 2, minutes... or more, the link
becomes up.
2- If we reset one of the boards, link becomes up.
3- according to smsc.c driver notes, "Due to HW bug, LAN8700 sometimes does
not detect presence of energy in the Ethernet cable in Energy Detect
Power-Down mode". So i disabled energy detect mode according to

https://git.backbone.ws/linux/backbone-sources/commit/d88ecb373bd1877acc43e13311a8e0e6daffc3d

but the resule is same.
4- The phy chip on BBB is LAN8710, and debian 8.3 as OS.

Best Regards.

Re: [beagleboard] 4.1 repo

2015-10-13 Thread hussainali0935
Thanks Robert and Rick,
I'll be appreciate if you inform about the result of your work on audio in
4.x.

I did not have any problem with audio in 3.8. and now I'm trying to get the
audio to work on uSomiQ Board.
uSomIQ AM335x is a BeagleBone Black clone with added more robust SLC NAND
flash and it's schematic is almost 1:1 copy of BBB.
I have trouble with it. Audio comes out but is noisy.
I've also tested board with the same kernel and RFS as BBB ( after some
minor change in capemgr diver) but the result has not changed.
If you had any experience with this board, I'll be glad if share your
comment here.

Best regards.

Hi Shadi,
I have same problem .( Transmit Buffer Underflow problem) .
I'm using kernel 4.1.1 and audio cape rev B ( that uses aic3104 codec) for
playing audio.

I will be glad if you tell me that you solve the problem or not.

Regards,
