The 30 min. or 1800 sec is defined in the LMS code. So it looks like LMS

Indeed I don't think this would fix the issue, but I already created the

Doesn't seem like an Synology issue. Something is triggering upnp to
unsubscribe. Question is what.

Do you have Media Server active on your nas? If so, switch of Media
Server and see if that's interfering.

(I'm still willing to clean up a package for you, but I doubt it will
fix the issue, just let me know).

I wouldn't take the docker route, yet. What Nas do you have?
I'm willing to build a cleaned up version of the package. That way we
can see if this issue is caused by Synology, or if something else is
causing this.
If this isn't a Synology problem, the Docker route isn't going to help

Indeed, I stopped creating packages for Synology. To time consuming with

Could be, but Synology nas don' t hibernate that easily. A lot of
packages prevent the nas to hibernate, LMS included. My bet would be on
the sloppy LMS update Synology provided.

If your running the Synology beta package, there is no need to
uninstall! Lmsupdate updates your current installation, just like any
other package update. (De-installation is only recommended when running
SSODS, and needed when running LmsRepack).

So, if you know the location of the sox file you us for Minimserver, you

Don't know much about DSD, but if transcoding to FLAC is done server
side by SOX this might be a restriction. Synology ships only a stripped
down version of SOX. There is a possibility to add another version of
SOX into the Synology package and see if that will solve your problem.

Re: [SlimDevices: Beta] 7.9 - request for translations

2016-03-03 Thread pinkdot

Translations were done by several different translators, al least I
think this what happened with the Dutch translations? Which leads to
different interpretations and inconsistencies (e.g. track, number, song,
track number).
But also the decision to name certain new features, like 'Library views'
will be hard to translate (or to find a short term for it) in any
language ;-)

Any how, language is changing all the time and some text might be a bit
outdated (first text strings are 10 years old now?) We moved on and some
terms are embedded/excepted in a language, so there is less reason to
search and come up with new specific terms or keeping the old language
specific ones.
(this all, from a Dutch point of view ;-)

Re: [SlimDevices: Beta] LMS on Synology

2016-02-22 Thread pinkdot

I don't think so. Most of the architectures are to specific and
therefore some updates would brake LMS on Synology.
I my first attempt to provide updates I used a Repository, which could
be added to the Package manager. You would receive updates via your
package manager in DSM. Unfortunately this lead to unidentified problems
on some architectures
So, that's why we ended up with the manual approach. Better than nothing

Re: [SlimDevices: Beta] Web skin problem

2016-02-14 Thread pinkdot

Yes, I've seen this to in Opera (which is based on Chrome). May be it is
an idea to redesign the buttons with a more modern approach, like
Google's material design.

I though there was a thread where you could post some webui changes but
can't find it any more.

I think the current design doesn't need a major overhaul. Some tweak
here and there should revamp it ;-)

It is a lot of work to change all the icons but that's why is is good to
make a mock up first.

My idea is not to add functions, just replace some and may be leave
some. I can do the artwork if needed.

Exactly.
what I can do is create a mock up with this idea in mind to get a
discussion going on this forum. We might have to make some choices to
simplify the ui a bit. For instance, do we need three grid views for
albums and artists, do we need the 'undock player' ... and so on.

Question: AAC or MP3 - what would you prefer?

- I would chose AAC/192kbps over MP3/192kbps, even if seeking within
  the AAC stream wasn't possible.
- I would chose AAC/320kbps over MP3/192kbps, even if seeking within
  the AAC stream wasn't possible.
- I'd rather have seeking than higher quality sound.

Small suggestion for the Alarm settings. There is no option to pick a

Now I always have to favorite a song, or make a playlist of 1 song. And

before doing that I got to ask is it as simple as:

if you have selected *Group compilation albums together*
 - *My Music/Artists* - Same behaviour as with 7.8 Artists menu if you
have selected *List compilation albums under each artist*

So basically we don't really want a different behaviour, we just want a
way to access both these modes without changing any settings ?

The real difference would really be the Genres menu where it with the
new solution would always work as if you in 7.8 had selected *List
 compilation albums under each artist*

I agree with Erland here. I played with the menu the last two days and
it is hard to understand what the effect of the settings/my music is on
the ABM plugin and visa versa (if you don't have all the bachground
information discussed in this thread).

I think Michel did already a great job on the plugin. In my opinion it
will please most of us. Its flexibel and both settings ( settings/my
music and ABM) can be set to the same behaviour as in 7.8 as default.

Did a full rescan, and now all is working perfectly :)

Did you run the rescan with the previous build as well? I checked the
changelog, and I don't see any change which could cause this.

pinkdot - what platform are you using? Is anyone of you running LMS on
 an
 ARM CPU based system?

Correct, it's a synology 110j using SSODS to run the nightly.

Re: [SlimDevices: Beta] LMS 7.8 Nightlies

I've just noticed a serious problem with changing tracks, and wondered
if anyone else is seeing this, please?

Playing a ripped CD, moving to the next track often just restarts the
current track, although the displays show the name of the next track as
playing, when it isn't. It seems to have a mind of its own which track
it will play when one is selected, and the displays in the front-ends
don't correlate to which track (name) is being played.

I've always used the nightly LMS, on Debian Linux. Am currently on
 7.8.0~1382588309.

I'm not sure how long this has been happening; I most often listen to
streamed radio (via LMS), rather than ripped CD.

This problem seems to be happening both with newly ripped FLAC+CUE, as
 well as years-old MP3 rips.

Happens with various front-ends, including: main web interface, Orange
Squeeze Android app, and Boom physical remote control.

I do a full re-scan automatically each night.

I see nothing relevant in the main log, nor scanner log.

 Any ideas, please?

Same issue here, noticed it on my Duet. I had an issue that the
following number was played but the previous title was shown. So, not
exactly the same but might be the same problem.
Didn't notice in in the previous nightly but only in the last one,
.309.

Also the music information plugin isn't showing the artist art. So more
is broken in this build.

Re: [SlimDevices: Beta] Lms 7.8?

2013-09-18 Thread pinkdot

Returned to 7.7.3 yesterday because of buffering probleem in the latest
nightly. Even on radio after 1 hout the receiver starts buffering and
with a 10 sec. Interval the music stops.

Returned to the latest official 7.7.3 release and probleem solved.
Anyone else had thuis issue?

(Running a duet, and lms on ssodsmod on a synology Nas)

I was wondering if there would be a kind soul, that could make a Arch

I'm afraid I'll do more wrong, than good, if I start doing it myself.

 Would be much appreciated.

You can install dab-packages in Arch Linux if I'm not mistaken. See

I know, but 7.8 takes this into account? As well as an offline update
possibility for radio's?

(I'm downloading the nightly's on a regular bases, installed on my
Synology using SSODS)

 Very interesting.

Not only interesting, but necessary also to maintain the LMS.

Keep up the good work Michael.

Who is telling you 7.7.2 isn't the last version yet?

Although I see some inprovement in 7.8 (less demanding then 7.7.2) I do
not think this will ever see the light.

Yep same here, for a few days now. May be Logitech could reply to this
issue.
