Re: [Ontbirds] Dickcissel, Simcoe County, Oro-Medonte Line 8 and Old Barrie Rd.

2016-06-12 Thread robert . cumming
As an addendum to my previous post. The 1st bird was found in the field
northwest of Old Barrie and Line 8. Howard Shapiro and I located a possible 2nd
bird in the field southeast of the corner. This 2nd bird was seen landing in
the middle of the field with another similar size bird... Possible nest site??
A problem may exist as both fields appear ready to be cropped.

Location is Line 8 Oro-Medonte and Old Barrie Rd several miles north of Barrie
off Hwy 11.

Dickcissel present at 6:15 AM at the same location. It is singing and moving
around frequently.

Photographers be wary as the bird is quite skittish.

The Bird(s) are still present. As of 6:56 there are two birds singing. One in
the same spot as reported earlier south of Old Barrie Rd and a second on the
north side Old Barrie on 8th Line. The second north bird is singing very close
to the roadside giving great views on the west side of 8th.

See previous post for directions.
