Hello folks:

I have a question and I hope to gain several responses from this post.

When teaching jaws to a sighted individual, not partially
sighted, but full blown 20-20, what would your approach be?

Meaning: would you turn the screen off so the person can
get

the full affect of how to use jaws? Would you iliminate using the mouse?
What would be the most important thing to mention/keep in mind when
teaching

sighted folks? If I have more questions to add, I will post them to this
thread. If you do not want to generate tons of traffic on this thread and
cause an annoyance, please feel free to email me at blindgu...@gmail.com.
Thanks, and I hope to hear from you.

Hi Paula,
Your message could be interpreted a couple of different ways, so I hope
this

is the correct one.
There should be an option there to restore the computer to it's last known
good configuration.
If that is not available, you will need to start in safe mode with sighted
assistance,
and have that person look for a restore point.
If any of these options are not viable, you are probably looking at
recovering the entire system.
There is a system error causing the computer to behave this way, but
without
safe-mode to diagnose it, it's hard to tell if it is hardware, or
operating

system.

Just tried it out, and see that if I hit the space bar on the date
control, I can then move left and right to focus on year, month and day,
and then the up and down arrow keys will change the relative value, but
you do need to first hit the space bar to sort of activate the
control/focus on it as such.

Just curious... has anyone compared this reader solution to the eye-pal

I am looking for something that is portable and can scan rapidly and
accurately.
There is a good possibility that I will be taking some masters level

many books in alternative formats as possible but need an alternative
solution.

Thanks

Hi Paula,
Go to the following link and pick from the language and voices you
require.

http://www.humanware.com/en-usa/support/vr_stream_software

The root of your card is the first level you come to either when
navigating

to the Strream with the card installed, or the same on a card reader.
You pace the file you extract from the .zip file you'll download from the
link above onto the card.
The file has the extention of .upg which stands for upgrade.
When you next power on the stream (you must have the power adapter
connected
or you'll get an error message) the stream will automatically do the
upgrade

for you.

Jon
