Re: [Blind-Computing] teaching jaws
Hi, Yes turn of the monitor and don't use the mouse. The souse will confuse things even more. The main thing to tell a sighted when teaching them is to listen hope this helps. - Original Message - From: Kimsan blindgu...@gmail.com To: blind-computing@jaws-users.com Sent: Thursday, March 04, 2010 9:09 PM Subject: [Blind-Computing] teaching jaws Hello folks: I have a question and I hope to gain several responses from this post. When teaching jaws to a sighted individual, not partially sighted, but full blown 20-20, what would your approach be? Meaning: would you turn the screen off so the person can get the full affect of how to use jaws? Would you iliminate using the mouse? What would be the most important thing to mention/keep in mind when teaching sighted folks? If I have more questions to add, I will post them to this thread. If you do not want to generate tons of traffic on this thread and cause an annoyance, please feel free to email me at blindgu...@gmail.com. Thanks, and I hope to hear from you. Re: [Blind-Computing] not quitea blue screen
I can only start in safe mode, where do I find the restore point. It won't let me do your first option. - Original Message - From: Rick Justice ricjust...@jaws-users.com To: blind-computing@jaws-users.com Sent: Wednesday, December 30, 2009 10:12 AM Subject: Re: [Blind-Computing] not quitea blue screen Hi Paula, Your message could be interpreted a couple of different ways, so I hope this is the correct one. There should be an option there to restore the computer to it's last known good configuration. If that is not available, you will need to start in safe mode with sighted assistance, and have that person look for a restore point. If any of these options are not viable, you are probably looking at recovering the entire system. There is a system error causing the computer to behave this way, but without safe-mode to diagnose it, it's hard to tell if it is hardware, or operating system. You pace the file you extract from the .zip file you'll download from the link above onto the card. The file has the extention of .upg which stands for upgrade. When you next power on the stream (you must have the power adapter connected or you'll get an error message) the stream will automatically do the upgrade for you.
