How about sending a new message to the list instead of replying to a current thread? That way you won't have to remember to change the subject line. Remember to keep the subject line relevant to the topic, with no extraneous text. This will help members sort thru messages . Thank you, Richard Q. Re: [Blind-Computing] resistance cable
radio shack makes an audio impedance matching cable that will do this, you just need to add either a set of adapters to utilize two such cables to maintain the original stereo mix, or adaptive ends to make the mono cable align up with and work on the stereo plugs of the headphone jack and the computers mike jack port. Re: [Blind-Computing] resistance cable
You can obtain such an animal at radio shack for around $5 if memory serves. Honestly it might be better to simply rip the music from a CD using media player or some such other program. Now if it's a LP record then you will have to use such a cable and recording software. Re: [Blind-Computing] resistance cable
Why not just use a regular 3.5mm male to male patch cord? You put the one end in the headphone jack of the cd player and the other in the microphone jack of the computer. Of course, it would be easier to just put the cd into the computer and get the files that way, or even to buy an external cd rom drive so that you can plug it in and do the same. But for direct audio transfer, I think a patch cord will work nicely. Re: [Blind-Computing] resistance cable
these are casette tapes and I do remember in the past that you needed a resistance cable because the output is amplified as opposed to a preamp output. Re: [Blind-Computing] resistance cable
It is best to hook in to the jacks on the back of the unit as they are not amplified for better sound quality. You go to an electronics store and tell them you need a cable one end will plug in to a computer sound card and the other in to a stereo tape deck.
