To get to the menu where you can sell things:
Open up the shop's menu from hitting enter at the shopkeeper.
Once you're in the shop's inventory, hit tab to go to your own inventory and
sell from there by hitting enter on the item you want to sell.

Here's my 2 cents on what my "ideal" ios fishing game would be like.
You'd start with so many bait worms. You either have to purchase more when
you run out, using game money, or wait for real time for them to regenerate-
you can also choose to donate to the game for more worms, or better baits-
pike fishing for example, requires frogs.

Fish you catch can be sold at game store for money. Depending on the type of
fish, you may get very little money or a lot- salmon would be great, same
with tuna, but those would most likely require heavier lines, sturdier rods
and better baits- all of which you need to save up game money to buy.

When you catch a fish, you can also tap on it to see a description- if need
be I can help provide those, I made the fishing function for the
cyberassault game so I have no shortage of descriptions.

The River Monsters documentary show wiki would be a great starting research
point too BTW.

Game would have various locations and molds- such as stream, river, deep
lake, swamp, ocean. You can also fish from the shore, or if with enough game
money, fish from a boat wich will yield larger catch with higher chances.

Game mechanics:

To bait the rod, simple pick the bait from your bait box and double tap on
it to get it on the hook.
Once you have purcahsed different gear, you can also select the rod and line
this way.

To cast: swing the phone up and back and then snap it forward. How far the
cast can be determined by the motion itself.

Once you cast the line out, you can gently move the phone to make the bait
drift in the water- good for catching predatory fish.

To reel: do the rottor motion with two fingers on screen.

When there's a fish on the line, you'll feel vibration on the phone- the
bigger the fish, the more vigorous the vibration.
When you feel the vibration, you need to give the phone a jerk to set the
hook, and then try to reel it in.

If you don't set the hook fast enough, you lose your bait and the fish's
gone.

As you reel, you may feel the vibration becoming more jerky as the fish
fights against you.

The fish will have a chance to escape during the setting of the hook, the
reeling in, depending on the gear used versus the type/size of fish- with a
bit of random factors in there just for curses and giggles.

Hey, Marty.

Here is a description of a hunting and fishing game that would be
similar to Cabela games.

1. The game needs to have challenges on it just like in real life.
2. The game needs to let you fish and hunt in all four seasons of the
year such as spring, summer, fall and winter.
3. The game needs to be able to have different areas such as woods,
mountains, lakes and rivers.
4. The game needs to let you pick between hunting and fishing or do both.
5. The game needs to have two modes such as free play where you can
hunt or fish when you want.
The other mode would be a career mode where you have to hunt and fish
for what the game says to go get.
6. There needs to be a store to be able to use game money to purchase
different gear for the different weather and areas.

[blind-gamers] Fishing

2018-01-12 Thread Marty Schultz
in all my games, when the action was to snap or tilt your wrist forward or
backward, everyone would ask for finger control on the screen.
I can do that, but please conduct a survey in this group how they want the
actions to begin. In basketball, I spent 2 weeks on responding to wrist snap
actions to shoot the basketball, and then found no one liked that.

Re: [blind-gamers] Hunting and fishing games for the blind.

2018-01-12 Thread dark
I remember Sega used to have a very silly, but extremely fun arcade style sea
bass fishing game which would translate well onto an Iphone.

The controller was a device with a real (a handle to turn), and a rod that
moved up down left and right.

First, you began by casting your line, which you needed to get precisely right,
then various fish would pass across the screen from left to right and you’d
need to jiggle your lure to get their interest, once you’d hooked a fish you
had to real at the correct speed.

I could imagine this working on the Iphone fairly well.
First, cast yourrod precisely by tilting your phone dowards making sure there
was neither too much power so you create a great splash and scare the fish, or
too little power so that your rod landed on the bank.

Next, listen for the splashing sounds of an oncoming fish, and when centered,
start to move the phone forward back left and right to move the lure enough to
attract the fish. If the fish bights (which could depend upon the movement
speed of the lure as well as the type of bat eused, different types of fishing
requiring different bates and speeds), then you’d need to real it in which
would mean a precise rotor motion on the screen, too quickly and the fish
would snap the line, too slowly it’d get away.

Btw, I know nothing at all about fishing, I just recall my brother playing the
Sega sea bass fishing in the arcade and thinking it looked a really cool and
quite fun game to play .

All the best,

Dark.

[blind-gamers] a hero's call- weapon effectiveness?

maybe---

So since there's really no official guide, it's a bit hard to decide what's
the best way to get the most out of your weapons.
Would be nice if anyone can share some concrete facts about two-handed
weapons versus dual wielding, versus elemental weapons, etc etc.

My own experiments have thus far proven rather inconsistent resultwise.
At first, I thought wielding two weapons would yield greater chance of
landing attacks. That doesn't seem to be the case- though the second weapon
does seem to come into play randomly since my offhand poison dagger is
poisoning targets at times.

Then I experimented using blunt weapons on skeletal creatures, thinking
that'd by logic do more damage. So far that is not the case.

It would almost seem that if you dual wield, you miss more often, but to
that I'm not 100% certain if it's just bad luck or actual coded logic.

One thing that seems to work extremely well is to wield an elemental weapon-
despite they're usually lower in weapon rating- and then pack on as many
equipments that'd boost that particular damage type.
For example, my warrior with a blazing mace, weapon rating 68 (I think), and
wearing a pair of infernal rings, can output more damage than him wielding a
weapon rating 94 greatsword.

On that note, has anyone find any effective way to hit ethereal monsters
with melee weapons? I know there's bless weapon and charge weapon and such,
but the damage dealt is so low it's laughable.

get to the point where I choose my gender and enter my name, and then it
asks me to select values for attributes, but using the arrow keys doesn't
seem to be doing anything, and when I hit enter, it says you must choose all

disable it and use only the game voice or something? I also have NVDA, what
it be better to use it?

Re: [blind-gamers] Having a hard time precisely locating people and objects in A Hero's Call.

2018-01-12 Thread Travis Siegel
Actually, it appears I'm experiencing a bug.  Using version 1.2, if I'm
in lord adrionis's manor, I can walk around in the entry hall, and use
the E key to tell me where I am, I can get it to say 2 10 door 10, and
if I stand there long enough, the patrolling guard even comes by, enters
the door, and later on leaves again, but no matter what I do, I can't
activate the door, it simply tells me there's nothing to interact with.
I initially thought that maybe it was a result of me playing in normal
mode instead of easy, but starting over, and using easy mode didn't
change the behavior of the game.  I'll of course report this to the
folks at out of sight, but if anone else has any ideas on how to solve
this, I'd sure like to hear it.

Cabela makes some realistic hunting games just like the real thing.
They have the player hunt and fish different types of animals.

Well you need to go to the manner, and walk about you will find a door
chat to her or don't and try to leave and well.

If your party is full they will be in the tavern in the south room talk
to the inn keeper.

What you may want to do is muck about the town, and when you find a
location note it in your custom list that way if you need to find them
again assuming they are static you can do so.

Exploration is the key.

Hello, all,

located the governer, though other objects have been quite difficult. However,
locating Gwen has been an absolute nightmare! Can anyone help with this? I'm
pretty good with cardinal directions, but I'm finding the navigation system
rather challenging. I've never had to deal with radar in a game before, so
maybe that's part of it. If anyone can give me any help with this, it'd be much
appreciated!

Go past the camp and there's a way back into the secondary ore vein. Once

I go down the trapdoor that the thief leads you to in the mines, enter
the goblin camp, murder the chieftain and pass through his tent. It is
that area immediately after that to which I refer. Perhaps I have the
wrong name of the area?

creature in the lake. She seems to be too strong for my party, with my

Hello all,

I have been playing A Hero's Call for a while now and have run into a
wall of sorts. Spoilers, I guess:

1. With the goblins in the mine, I have made it down to the Goblin
Proving Grounds and cannot figure out what to do next. When I enter
the area, nothing seems to happen and I do not know where else to go.
Am I supposed to talk to someone back in town to advance the quest?
Or
did I screw something up? Please note that I have already turned in
two of the quests relating to the goblins: killing a few goblins for
the guards and the one for the blacksmith where he wanted me to bring
back goblin-forged gear for him.

2. In the graveyard, I am working on the quest where you have to
bring
down the rune stones with the priestess in the party. I have taken
care of one, and
