I make interactive fiction myself (well, I did from 2012 to 2014 and
considered getting back into it), and I always wrote them in
JavaScript so that the players don't need to download any extra
software. I'm actually considering writing my next one in Twine, which
apparently compiles to more complex JavaScript; but I'll write it in
Twine, not JS, because Twine is easy, or so it's been said.

Ok, the z machines started from zork.

that used a .dat extention.

then we had z3, z5 z6 and z8.

Of those z5 and z8 are commenplace.

Glulx or inform7 uses blb blorb zblorb and ulx.

Depending on the things the latest inform 7 versions have graphics and 
sounds I forget the rest of that though.


z8 is still about but yeah its old now.

Winglulx handles inform7 and winfrotz for other stuff frotz and glulx 
interpriters run on everything from amiga and dos to windows ios and 
android.


Some run on black burry and raspberry pie of all things so.

  i know these aren't exactly what your looking for but these are thus
far
  the best examples of? games with cooking in that I can think of.

[blind-gamers] Help with AHC

I am trying to get the quest completed for the Ridges and Bluffs and am
stuck.  How do I get to the one that is South of the river and West of the
Bridge?  So far to me it appears to be encircled with brambles and thickets.

I'll... fourth? that.
Just had the exact same experience with Lone Wolf yesterday.
Its not a terribly good idea to leave those bits of info lying around, since it 
tells any interested party exactly where you're storing your registration 
information, and thus makes your game a lot easier to hack.
