Bob, Home Depot or Lowes might cut stuff for you...depending on what you
need done. Go early in the morning right after they open/RH

[BVARC] table saw cuts needed

Anybody in the Sugar Land/Missouri City area have a table saw that I use
for a few cuts at your location. I need to make about six cuts with a
table saw.

Re: [BVARC] WPX contest operation during Houston Hamfest

2017-03-15 Thread Jonathan Guthrie via BVARC
Just FYI, I was curious when the WPX CW weekend was, and the Web Site
with the dates has a link to the rules FAQ, and it turns out my question
is a FAQ. They say it's fine, too, so I guess it's fine.

Jonathan,

It should be fine. You can score your own operation and send it in.
The remote station will send in a separate score combining all the
operators.

About that. I was hoping to work the WPX contest from home, for at
least a little while. How does this remote operation affect those plans?

Sign up with Curt Fletcher, WG5H, and Pat Cameron, KJ5Y, to
operate the WPX SSB contest at the Houston Hamfest on March 25^th
, 2017, using their Remote Stations.

It’s a unique opportunity to operate and learn about the two
different remote systems – Software based, KJ5Y, and Hardware
based, WG5H. Both stations have superb setup for working DX.

KJ5Y – Remote Hams software, 20 meter dipole at 120 feet, 1.3 KW,
N1MM software

WG5H – Remote Rig hardware, 10-20 meter beam at 135 feet, 500
watts, N1MM software

Both call signs are excellent multipliers for the WPX contest. So,
be prepared to work some pileups.
