I do recall one time a band had adapted the Adams Family Theme to work for

For extra themed music, you could have the band play one of Dave
Wiesler tune's like We are Devils or Monsters in the Cellar.  Any time
is a good time for a Dave Wiesler tune, but those two would definitely
fit with a Halloween favor!

Extra work for the band, I know. You could suggest them if they don't
already have ideas.

Second Scare Around, Zombie Hypnosis, Best of Fiends...

Joe Kwiatkowski, you beat me to the punch, dammit. But since i already had
the card in my stack for tonight ;) here are the calls

Bats in the Grange (improper) Steve Zakon-Anderson

A1. Nbr balance & swing
A2. Gents L 1.5, partner swing
B1. Partner promenade 3/4 (until 1s are facing down, 2s up in original
improper orientation)
   neighbor do-si-do
B2. In a ring, balance (4) 2s arch, 1s dive through (4)
IN REVERSE 1s arch, 2s back up (4) 2s arch, 1s dive through to meet
new nbrs (4)

I personally prefer a left shoulder do-si-do in B2 since it flows naturally
from the promenade motion path, and is spookier.

Have fun Betsey - this sounds like one SCARILY good theme dance from the
ideas folks are sending out!

There's a dance by Al Olson called "Halloween" (in Zesty Contras). Every
time I have called it, *something* has gone wrong---sound system
dies for no reason whatsoever, band stops playing for no reason. I've
learned my lesson; I've sworn off it.

Nobody's mentioned Melanie Axel-Lute's "Halloween Twist"
http://www.maxellute.net/halloween.html

Steve Zakon-Anderson's "Bats in the Grange" (sorry; I'm at work with no
cards. Someone else will have to come up with that link.)

The tune Jump At the Sun can be played in an agreeably spooky way, even
though the title isn't spooky. If your band knows it, it might be a
nice one to throw in to the mix.

At my dance, we have a longstanding tradition of dancing The Wizard's Walk
by Ruth
Ungarto
the tune of the same name, and it becomes a giant contest between the
band and the dancers to see who can go the fastest before someone falls
apart. Great fun.
