Re: [Care2002-developers] The status and future of Care2x

2014-09-24 Thread t...@weberpafrica.com
Hi Alejandro, I don't think it is a lack of people who can tune it
so much as a lack of developers with the time and inclination to do
so. This is why I was asking for volunteers :-)

I don't know what is the level of usability of care2x, but...

If none of developers can tune care2x to make it work...
 What can I do ?

[Care2002-developers] The status and future of Care2x

Suppose I can give some help...

According to the developer's info from sourceforge: there are 7 admin and
102 developers so I suppose you guys already have enough developers.

If so many developers do not contribute to the project, I think there are
other problem more important than the number of developers in itself.

Maybe all of you have to make a self-criticism, why the project Care2x is
in the current situation and assess what has been done wrong before seeking
for outside help.

Moreover, notes that despite the importance of what we are chatting, few
people bothered to join this thread.

Re: [Care2002-developers] Care2002-developers Digest, Vol 80, Issue 5

2014-09-24 Thread Jorge Cardona
Hi to all¡¡

Some of us, like me, had been using and developing (scheduling
modulereporting, specialized Rheumatology EH,among some) over care2x
through the last ten years; but always the problem have been the community
disorder and disconnection.

The business model observation coming from Latorilla, must be considered,
first because him, like a pioneer, must have now enough experience to know
exactly what was the big mistake at the beginning of the times, and
secondly, his proposal doesn't exclude the Tim's proposition to continue
developing, but it must be done with a so clear business project model and
vision to guarantee the future healthy of care2x in terms of resources
availability.

We must consider too, to reinvite a Mr. Latorilla and R. Mengele to
reunite again to get or add the the biggest power of a so experienced
managerial community to lead this current initiative¡¡

Then, if possible to regenerate some reorganization with this second wave
of fresh air, we. Analitica-MD will be prone to work with so big enthusiasm.

Waiting for this relaunch, yours
Jorge Cardona G, MD, MBA

As I said previously, there past some time that I do not follow closely
  Care2x.

  After reading the Tim's email...

From my experience in another sourceforge project, there are different
  possibilities
  and none exclusionary.

  Some stages could be:

1a) The first is to tune the latest version that works (ie: care2014).
(This requires commitment from all members of Care2x)

1b) Post (publish) this version as stable

1c) only make bug fixes in this version or delayed comit additions
Enable the automatic publication as nightly (every night) to access the
  latest
  changes/bug fixes.

2a) Simultaneously do a fork over to the new version which will carry the
  major changes.
(Here I would like to propose real modularization of the project)
This will help you get the best possible module even if belonging to
 another
  external project

2b) Continue with bug fixes to regain functionality like (care2014)

  3) Reevaluate what has been done.
