Re: [cayugabirds-l] Little Blue Heron - Van Dyne Spoor Rd. MNWR
Dave Wheeler was of course the third birder from Syarcuse I met last evening at East Road. I watched 28 Great Egrets head north from Knox-Marcellus to roost somewhere -- I guess you guys found the roost. Now the question is, did we miss the LBHE among the egrets at East Road? Nice Find! Re: [cayugabirds-l] Red headed woodpecker continues Mays point
Thanks for this pointer … my 12 yr old son was very happy to be able to add these to his summer bird photography project. We saw two red-headed woodpeckers among those dead trees and he got some nice photos and a bit of video of one of them in a bush eating berries. [cayugabirds-l] Addition to Shore birds at K-M MNWR
Hi Ken and all, I too was there at Knox Marcellus in the evening for a short time. I was scopeless as I had not anticipated going birding but was kayaking the Owasco Outlet from Throop to Port Byron. Thanks to Jason Hawks? I was able to enjoy a short time scan through the scope for shorebirds. I did not find anything exciting as others but we did have a WILSON'S SNIPE feeding for a short time before heading off to hide somewhere. I did see some tons of yellowlegs, few peeps and Pectoral Sandpipers. I also enjoyed the pair of Red-headed Woodpeckers at May's Point.
