Zero and One are already pre-recorded (by default) in UCCX, so you can use
them.

[OSL | CCIE_Voice] NTP for UCCX

2012-02-12 Thread datucha123 datucha123
Hello,

Do we need to set the NTP Server for UCCX Win Server? Or the NTP settings

I cannot set the NTP Server for Win2003 (UCCX Server) - net time
command does not work, as it is looking for Win Server NTP, and is not
conencting to IOS NTP.

There is a step to generate a number... M not in front of UCCX right now so
can't tell you exact name of the step, but it is very easy to find it.

In this step you tell it what you want it to gemerate, in your case number, and
then provide it with the value, and then output prompt.

Prompt - Create Generated Prompt, where you have to point the
String which you want to play out (in your case it would be String with
value of 1 or 2 or anything you like to announce/play out.

You have to select the Constructor Type as well, as it rules how the Number
is played out gramaitically - 1 as First, 1 as One and etc, (there are
some Types like Number, Telephone Number and etc. You can get the
documentation for each type in UCCX Scripting Guides, or even in UCCX Scipr
Help Files).

Select the Prompt File where you want to save the Generated Prompt.

You can also choose the language, or leave it as it is.

After you have to use the Play Prompt step to play previously
generated Prompt.

[OSL | CCIE_Voice] MTP and Xcoders

2012-02-12 Thread datucha123 datucha123
Hello,

Assume that we have G711 and G729 MTP's in first MRG, and then Xcoder in
the next MRG:

MRGL oder:

1) MRG_MTP

2) MRG_Xcoder

So as we know, CUCM can allocate the required MTP's based on codec - if
call is going to be g711 then the G711 MTP will be allocated, and if the
call is going to be G729, then G729 MTP will be allocated.

But it is also possible for G729 call to use G711 MTP but with Transcoder
support - IP Phone G729 to Xcoder G729, Xcoder G711 to MTP G711.

So when the G729 call comes to CUCM, will the CUCM allocate G729 MTP, or
will try to allocated G711 with Transacoder?

Here is also another example, with the same question:

MRGL order:

1) MRG_MTP_G711

2)MRG_MTP_G729

3)MRG_Xcoder

In second example, as the G729 call can use G711 MTP with Transcoder
support, will the CUCM allocate G711 MTP along with Transcoder, as the G711
MTP is first in order, or it will look down and allocate G729 MTP?

[OSL | CCIE_Voice] UCCX 7 on VMWare

2012-02-12 Thread Emanuel Damasceno
Hello Experts,

I recently followed few steps to use UCCX on a VMWare environment but I am
dealing with a few issues. I will explain first how I did it, and then I
will tell you what the problem is.

I installed on a MCS7835 the 2003.1.4 OS for HP Servers. The MCS we have is
HP, so... Everything went real smooth. As soon as the installation ended, I
installed VMWare converter. I didn't install UCCX, or anything else, just
the OS.

I converted from Physical Machine to VMWare Infrastructure. I have a
licensed VMWare server here at home. I waited a whole night for the system
to be converted and transferred to my VMWare server. As I execute the
machine, it gives me a bunch of errors such: Windows Activation 30 days to
activate... As far as I remember, we don't have to activate Windows, do
we? I really don't remember this part, but anyways...

- Service Control Manager. At least one service or driver failed during
system startup. Use Event Viewer to examine the event log for details - I
waited until it was completely installed to convert it to VM.

If you Google Installing UCCX 7 VMware you will come across a website
from blindhog. I followed Alex Hannah instructions to the dot.

Does anybody recommend plain windows 2003 and registry hacks + OS Upgrades
from Cisco?

Thanks for the advice

I am new to proctorlabs, today scheduled my first session, configured my

testing connectivity within the pod, i did the same from my HomeRouter and
Laptop.

The weird thing is that from my HomeRouter i can ping every interface within
the pod, but from my Laptop i issued Pings to different IP addresses and had 25
to 50% successfull replies. I tried with online support and they told me it was
not the POD.

Any advice?

When you log into the web interface, you will see Lab configs.
So, which lab configs did you load?
After you get the configs loaded, you should be able to enter the MAC of your

Subject: [OSL | CCIE_Voice] Proctor Labs connectivity issue

Hi Folks,

I am new to proctorlabs, today scheduled my first session, configured my
2811 Home Router and started with the basic connectivity configurations. After
testing connectivity within the pod, i did the same from my HomeRouter and
Laptop.

The weird thing is that from my HomeRouter i can ping every interface within
the pod, but from my Laptop i issued Pings to different IP addresses and had 25
to 50% successfull replies. I tried with online support and they told me it was
not the POD.

Attached to this mail is my Router config.

Any advice?

Regards,

After you get the configs loaded, you should be able to enter the MAC of

Hi Emanuel,

If you have windows 2003 standard edition you can boot from that cd and
repair your converted virtual machine. In that process you ll be providing
a different serial key at the repair face. So it will take that as the
active key. Hope this helps

Does anybody recommend plain windows 2003 and registry hacks + OS

Dont go through the painful procedure of installing and converting your
Cisco windows appliance version. straightaway install it on the ESXi or
Workstation. Create a vm with 2 GB memory and 160 GB hard drive. Install
from the Cisco OS cd. before installing UCCX repair your installation with
the windows 2003 cd.

Then its done :)
