Also you need to disable ip igmp snooping there is a know bug with it on
code that is listed for the lab.

Put no ip igmp snooping in your configuration.

Just make sure you have PIM enabled, ip multcast-routing.

I also had a client have issue where all was set up right, but there
was an IOS issue where multicast did not work on the NM-ESW ports and
a IOS Upgrade fixed it up. We upgraded to 12.4(11)T3 I believe as this
was awhile ago.

Do a search on the Network Hold MOH for the CTI ports, you will find
your solution in that direction.

Look in the NetPro forums

Re: [OSL | CCIE_Voice] What versions of Unity Express and MSFC softwareshould we expect on LAB exam?

2008-06-01 Thread Burkett, Michael
http://www.cisco.com/web/learning/le3/ccie/announcements/index.html

The MSFC is not listed a testable item so you don't need to worry about
the code on it.

25 Jan 2006
   CCIE Voice Exam Updates
Effective July 17, 2006 all CCIE Voice lab locations will begin
introducing Cisco Unity Express Network Module (NM-CUE) into the exam
racks. Along with the NM-CUE introduction, the lab will also be
upgrading to IOS version 12.4 (3a) and the equipment software to the
following versions:
* Cisco CallManager 4.1 (3) with latest SR
* Cisco Unity 4.0 (5)
* Cisco Unity Express 2.1 (2)
* Cisco Customer Response Server /IP Contact Center Express 4.0 (1)

All CCIE Voice candidates taking exams July 17, 2006 or later should be
familiar with the updated IOS, software and equipment, although the
installations will take place over several weeks and it is possible some
candidates may not see the new software and equipment in their exams.
For more information regarding these changes see Voice Lab Equipment and
IOS Version.

I'm preparing my lab for voice CCIE and basically I'm not sure what
software should I put on Unity Express and MSFC card on C6500. Cisco
doesn't state that on lab equipment page
(http://www.cisco.com/web/learning/le3/ccie/voice/lab_equipment.html)
Any suggestions?

Re: [OSL | CCIE_Voice] Bandwidth Update with GK

Use two dial-peers, set g711ulaw hard codec and max-conn of 1, the set

Subject: [OSL | CCIE_Voice] Bandwidth Update with GK

Hello,

I know in CM, to update bandwidth automatically when calls are going
through a gk, you'll have to modify the BRQ service parameter to true.
Does anyone know if there is an IOS command that does the same thing for
an H323 gateway? Or if there is an IOS command that resets the
bandwidth allocation on a gk as soon as the call is terminated?

The reason being is that I experienced some codec selection issues with
calls from an H323 gateway to CM via a gk when i used a voice codec
class to prefer one codec type over another. My prference in a codec
class is to use g711 first and g729 as a second choice. The interzone
bandwidth is restricted to 144 (which is enough for 1 g711 and 1 g729
calls). Sometime a call would use codec g711 first (which is correct),
and another time it would use codec g729 first (which is not preferred)
even though there is only one active call.

Any info is greately appreciated. Thank you!

Re: [OSL | CCIE_Voice] Route Group Failover

2008-02-16 Thread Burkett, Michael
If you are shutting the interface down to test the gateway will send an
unallocated/unassigned message back the CCM, the default behavior on
that message is to stop routing. Look in CCM service parameters and
change the setting.

Stop Routing on Unallocated Number Flag* is set to True by default, set
to false and you will move to the next member in the Route List.

Hi:

Yes that is the way it should work, however depending on how you are
simulating an outage, the CCM knows there is a failed call and try to
reroute the call on the second route group. Depending on the H323
message the callmanager is receiving it can reroute the call, please
tell how are you simulating the outage, turn the E1 down?, turn the
gateway down?

Just to reconfirm,

Route pattern of 521
--Route List
  -- H323 route group
 --siteb h323 gateway
  -- 6608 route group
 -- 6608 pri gateway

So, if call to 521 failed on first route group, it should able to
hunt to next route group available in the route list, right?

Thanks.

In the RG.

I did test calling the particular destination number to specific route
group at a time and the call succeed. So the route-pattern, route list,
route group, gateway and h323' dial-peer are configured correctly.

Only when I assign H323 and 6608 in a single route list, the call is not
able to failover from h323 to 6608

Thanks.

Hi all,

I have created 2 Route List: RL_HQ_Local and RL_SiteB_Local

Within the RL_HQ_Local, I have:
 RG_6608 -- 6608 T1 PRI Gateway (1st priority)
 RG_H323 -- H323 T1 PRI Gateway (2nd priority)

Within the RL_SiteB_Local, I have
 RG_H323 -- H323 T1 PRI Gateway (1st priority)
 RG_6608 -- 6608 T1 PRI Gateway (2nd priority)

For
Scenario 1. RL_HQ_Local the call is able to failvoer to RG_H323 if
RG_6608 is not reachable.
Scenario 2. RL_SiteB_Local call does not able to failover to RG_6608
when RG_H323 failed.

So, is there any paramaters required in CallManager for scenario 2
failover?

Thanks.

What directory number do you assign since it isn't registered to CCM?

Can you please enlighten me?
