In addition to the wildly unrealistic nature of their wish list, there's another problem. No human being in existence could pack all those activities into a normal work day. Thats what went through my head. What they seem to be needing is a CF programmer, a java programmer, a DBA, QA Specialist and a technical writer. Lets see, CF-80k, Java-80k, DBA-80k, QA-60k, Writer-50k. Hot damn I could be making $350k if I was that smart. They could have the candidates interview themselves to determine if they are qualified and skilled in those areas. Then the HR department merely has to take those candidates that deem themselves qualified and skilled, and determine who is the most honest out of the group, and hire that person. -Original Message- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Thursday, October 03, 2002 1:36 PM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: RE: [KCFusion] Impossible Candidate Who would be qualified to interview this candidate and determine that they are truly skilled in all of those areas? -Original Message- From: Keith Purtell [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Thursday, October 03, 2002 1:29 PM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: RE: [KCFusion] Impossible Candidate In addition to the wildly unrealistic nature of their wish list, there's another problem. RE: [KCFusion] Impossible Candidate
In all seriousness, for those of you who might have done something similar to this (hiring I mean) are we talking unrealistic expectations from employers or are we talking recruiters who don't know the different between java and javascript and between VB and VBScript and CF from ASP, etc. is it just an educational thing? If anyone actually did research on these positions to get them filled surely they must know it is almost unattainable. Either unatainable or when they find someone they won't pay em the gold they are worth. -- Original Message -- From: Matt Jones [EMAIL PROTECTED] Reply-To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Date: Thu, 3 Oct 2002 13:41:01 -0500 They could have the candidates interview themselves to determine if they are qualified and skilled in those areas.
