It just shows a lack of technical and business saavy it no doubt reeks of business idiots absorbed by aquusitions who think "windows" is actually the Internet. CFML (I note CFML as you have Bluedragon) is a more than cabable technology when deployed correctly. To move from Java to .NET back to Java though is just stupid. I have a forum that automatically emails topic replies to subscribers. However, I am having a difficult time getting the text to display properly. CFMX7 Upgrade Server keeps Restarting
I just upgraded from CFMX 6.1 to CFMX 7 (and installed the updaters to get to 7,0,2,142559) and now the CF server restarts itself almost every hour and I am getting java hot spot errors. I have tried a couple of different JVM's and arguments without much luck. I tried disabling the HotSpot runtime optimizer using -Xint and that did not seem to work either. I am using the JVM that comes with CFMX 7. The data in the coldfusion-out.log for the last couple of restarts is the same and seems to indicate its related to the charting engine (but I am not sure). We make very small use of charts however and there have been some other errors aswell. My question is, how do I debug and fix this problem before Monday when my customers start complaining about the restarting. Here is the dump, can any one help me interpret what this means? RE: Combining Images
Claude, Thank you for your response, but with Efflare's help I have it doing what I needed and then some. My user uploads 2 images, a "before" and an "after" shot which imageCR3 resizes and optimezes each. Then Imageflare creates 2 text images on saying "Before" in grey and one saying "After" in black. Then imageflare creates a new image with the corresponding textimage aligned left below each image And lastly pastes both finished images together with a border between sized to my setting. I then write the xml file that loads my photo gallery on the fly and my client is very happy. Select box sorting
After searching Google, cflib, and other sources I can not find a tool that I use to use long time ago. I am looking for the ability to have 2 select boxes (source and destination) and I can move an item from source to the destination and then move it either up or down the destination list box. This is going to be used for dynamic sorting of data within a table. RE: Combining Images
Thanks Efflare, I asked on here first as I thought maybe I had missed something somewhere. I looked at the Efflare online docs and obviously missed that it did what I was looking for. I got your replies to the questions I posted on your site after I posted on here and all I have to say is I wonder how fast your instant replies are on weekdays. I already tried your example script and it worked exactly as I asked for. As soon as Monday rolls around I will be begging my accountant for the funds. I think if all CF tags worked as well as your company's we could really do some magic. Re: upload image and insert the image name into the database for the right product
Ali, Just upload the image as usual to whatever directory you'll be using. If it's multiple images with multiple 's, and you're using MX7, use the result attribute which lets you specify your own variable name for each image. result="file1.serverfile" result="file2.serverfile" etc.. Once you have that, you have the image name you can insert into your db. Just run those in your insert statements. INSERT INTO tblproducts (image1) VALUES ('#file1.serverfile#') also, look into ExpandPath(). It's your friend. It'll create your full path needed in destination attribute. This will let your cffile send the file to the correct directory whether on your local machine, or a remote server. In this case, the images folder in your site root. hth, Will ~| ColdFusion MX7 by Adobe® Dyncamically transform webcontent into Adobe PDF with new ColdFusion MX7. Anyone know of a way to combine 2 images into one online? I am using imageCR3 and love it. I have two image upload fields and imageCR3 resizes each image to 360 pixels wide and I would like to end up with one image say 725 pixels wide with a 5 pixel border between each image in the final image. Re: Cleaning stored text to get valid XML
Re; http://www.nelsonmullins.com/rss/rss_newsletters.cfm Finally found a function that seems to clean most of the MS Word control characters and other crap out that was causing me probems. Using two filters on the body text seems to be taking care of my problems now.. function ReplaceMicrosoftChars(arg_str) { return ReplaceList(arg_str, "#Chr(19)#,#Chr(20)#,#Chr(25)#,#chr(8216)#,#chr(8217)#,#Chr(8211)#,#Chr(8212)#,#Chr(145)#,#Chr(146)#,#Chr(147)#,#chr(8220)#,#chr(8221)#,#Chr(148)#,#Chr(29)#,#Chr(28)#,#Chr(150)#,#Chr(151)#,#Chr(8230)#", "--,--,',',',--,--,',',"","","","","","",-,-,..."); } ]*>","","all")#" > Feed seems to be working now, until the client finds something else to throw in there that the above doesn't cover!!! Of course, a better way to do this would be to create valid XML text right from the start, but I've got hundreds of records of legacy data to deal with. ~| ColdFusion MX7 and Flex 2 Build sales & marketing dashboard RIAâs for your business. Re: upload image and insert the image name into the database for the right product
In your INSERT statement, access the name of the file from your upload statement using #cffile.Serverfile#. Ex: INSERT INTO products (imagepath) VALUES ( '#cffile.Serverfile#' ) Obviously, you will want to do all the necessary validation and cfqueryparams...but that is a quick and dirty way to grab the name of the file that has been uploaded to the server and insert it into your database. > Hi: > Do you know any tutorial that teaches me how to make an image upload > form that I can use with my "Add Product" page?
