i can assure you that both the test server/client as well the SMS gateway
works (in fact the gateway works so well that we broke one SMS provider that

I would love to get a similar experience. I will even consider giving you

Yes, I have ( you can see the content of my cfg file at:

connect. But when I connect the gateway through the other SMS Server it binds.

that's what the *gateway* is for.

My thinking exactly unfortunately, it is not working. I have read through the
documentation and I am sure I have done everything in the right way. I used the
configuration exactly the same way I had it on my local pc, except that I
replaced
localhost details with SMSC details.

If I understand your request correctly, just make your 4 separate textboxes,
and then combine the values before loading to the database.

cfset textVal = form.textarea1  form.textarea2  form.textarea3
form.textarea4

cfquery ...
INSERT INTO ...
VALUES ( cfqueryparam cfsqltype=CF_SQL_LONGVARCHAR value=#textVal# ...
/cfquery

query not producing the right results

2008-11-18 Thread Toby King
Hi there

I have a query that is half working OK - just one part is not quite right. I
can see why at this point in time.

Wondering if anyone can suggest chages to get it working 100%.

Here is is:

cfquery name=GetDoctors datasource=savaDB
SELECT
u.userid,
u.Fname,
u.Lname,
u.Company,
u.Ranking,
a.addressName,
a.address1,
a.address2,
a.city,
a.state,
a.zip,
a.phone,
a.fax,
a.addressURL,
u.SiteID,
a.isPrimary
FROM
tusers u,
tuseraddresses a
WHERE
u.SiteID =  'revitaliseyourskin' AND
u.isPublic =  '1' AND
u.UserID =  a.userID AND
u.Ranking IS NOT NULL
!--- cfif NOT IsDefined (form.doctor) AND NOT IsDefined
(form.practice) AND NOT IsDefined (form.suburb)
AND a.isPrimary = '1'
/cfif ---
cfif IsDefined (form.State) AND form.State NEQ
AND a.state = '#form.state#'
/cfif
cfif IsDefined (form.doctor) AND form.doctor NEQ
AND u.Lname LIKE '%#form.doctor#%'
/cfif
cfif IsDefined (form.practice) AND form.practice NEQ

/cfif
cfif IsDefined (form.suburb) AND form.Suburb NEQ
AND a.city LIKE '%#form.suburb#%'
/cfif
cfif NOT IsDefined (form.doctor) AND NOT IsDefined
(form.practice) AND NOT IsDefined (form.suburb)
ORDER by u.Lname, a.addressname, a.city
cfelse
AND a.isPrimary = '1'
ORDER BY u.Ranking
/cfif
/cfquery

Basically here is what is happening.

A user has displayed to them a screen with a form. The user must select a
state (other fields are optional. If a user picks only a state - the result
set displayed to the user is correct. Basically only one record per customer
is displayed in a predefined sort order. THis is based on the isPrimary field.
Only primary addresses are displayed.

If a user selects any other field as well as state - then all records for a
customer(addresses that is) are displayed well at least are suppose to display.
 For some reason only one record per customer is dispaying.

I think it is something to do with the isPrimary field etc

Thanks in advance for any feedbac.

Re: Create a lookup to point to a DB where I specify a query

2008-11-18 Thread Randy
Create a connection to the DB is the simpliest. However you mentioned you
have no connection. Why not?

Other than that, if you can create an extract from the database to flatfile
(ex. excel), you can link to that as the datasource.

Re: One text box split to look like 4 textboxes with combined result one value

2008-11-18 Thread Jason Fisher
If you need to separate the values, you can do that in the variable declaration
as well. For instance, if you want a line break:

cfset delimiter = chr(13)  chr(10)
cfset textVal = form.textarea1  delimiter  form.textarea2  delimiter
form.textarea3  delimiter  form.textarea4

Or change the value of 'delimiter' to whatever you want between the textarea
values.

It's not that I have no connection, I have a blank HTML page where I need to
setup lookups. I don't know the code to insert in blank html - where i can
specify a server name, user,password, and query string.

Then use the query string in lookup select drop down.

Code examples of lookup with connection code specified.

RE: query not producing the right results

2008-11-18 Thread Dawson, Michael
First, I would modify your query to make it a bit easier to follow, if
your DB platform allows. Move your table joins from the WHERE clause to
the FROM clause using the INNER JOIN syntax.

Then, strip out all, but one, of your WHERE filters. Test it with that
single statement. Then, once you are sure that works, add another
criteria to the WHERE clause. Repeat until you find the offending code.

 It's still fun to play this game though :-)
 FYI http://www.adobe.com/devnet/flex/ has ColdFusion linked right from the

I couldn't think of a workaround for this.. For whatever reason, I am trying to
do a

/cfif

Re: Handling large ingeters..

2008-11-18 Thread Jake Churchill
If you just want to see if it's evenly divisible by 10, then just check
to see if the last number of temp eq 0, something like this:

cfif Mid(temp,Len(temp)-1,1) eq 0
.
/cfif

That is untested by the way, you might have to fiddle with the Mid
function (I'm not at a place where I can test it right now)

RE: Create a lookup to point to a DB where I specify a query

2008-11-18 Thread Will Swain
You need to set up a datasource in the cf administrator, then on your .cfm
page do the following:

cfquery datasource=yourDatasourceName name=qGetStuff
SELECT ID, foo
FROM tbl_stuff
/cfquery

You can use the resulting query object in any number of ways.

You might want to take a look at:

http://livedocs.adobe.com/coldfusion/8/htmldocs/help.html?content=Part_3_CFM
L_Ref_1.html

And

http://livedocs.adobe.com/coldfusion/8/htmldocs/help.html?content=Part_3_CFM

Amongst others.

Cheers

It's not that I have no connection, I have a blank HTML page where I need to
setup lookups. I don't know the code to insert in blank html - where i can
specify a server name, user,password, and query string.

Then use the query string in lookup select drop down.

Code examples of lookup with connection code specified.

Faxing with CF

2008-11-18 Thread Rob Parkhill
Good Day all,

I know that this was talked about some time ago, but I was hoping that there
might be some new information about this topic. I really want to be able to
send a fax through CF, and not have to write something else to do it. I have
tried using the CFPRINT tag, but it does not have any way to accept any fax
numbers. Are there any suggestions? I will look at other solutions, but no I
don't want a pay for use service. We have a lovely fax machine at the office,
and I would like to just leverage that...

Thanks in advance.

Re: Cfhttp... Referer question

2008-11-18 Thread Alan Rother
Well...
Yes you can... I built something awhile back to attack phishers... It
re-routes all of my cfhttp request through a randomly chosen proxy server. I
of course had to create a large list of open proxy servers to make it work.
It also greatly increased my failure rate of course...

This list is most likely outdated so you'll need to hunt down recently
available open proxy servers and there is a risk in using them.

cfscript
//setup a list of open proxies
variables.aOpenProxies = ArrayNew(2);
variables.aOpenProxies[1][1] = 195.39.150.100;
variables.aOpenProxies[1][2] = 8080;
variables.aOpenProxies[2][1] = 200.150.129.26;
variables.aOpenProxies[2][2] = 6588;
variables.aOpenProxies[3][1] = 200.172.105.172;
variables.aOpenProxies[3][2] = 6588;
variables.aOpenProxies[4][1] = 200.250.246.101;
variables.aOpenProxies[4][2] = 8080;
variables.aOpenProxies[5][1] = 200.252.106.141;
variables.aOpenProxies[5][2] = 6588;
variables.aOpenProxies[6][1] = 200.253.18.10;
variables.aOpenProxies[6][2] = 1080;
variables.aOpenProxies[7][1] = 200.253.18.9;
variables.aOpenProxies[7][2] = 1080;
variables.aOpenProxies[8][1] = 200.95.33.110;
variables.aOpenProxies[8][2] = 3128;
variables.aOpenProxies[9][1] = 201.53.110.68;
variables.aOpenProxies[9][2] = 6588;
variables.aOpenProxies[10][1] = 201.64.58.185;
variables.aOpenProxies[10][2] = 1080;
variables.aOpenProxies[11][1] = 202.63.226.150;
variables.aOpenProxies[11][2] = 1080;
variables.aOpenProxies[12][1] = 202.75.213.111;
variables.aOpenProxies[12][2] = 1080;
variables.aOpenProxies[13][1] = 202.85.41.70;
variables.aOpenProxies[13][2] = 1080;
variables.aOpenProxies[14][1] = 202.96.17.218;
variables.aOpenProxies[14][2] = 1080;
variables.aOpenProxies[15][1] = 1080.143.6.83;
variables.aOpenProxies[15][2] = 8080;
variables.aOpenProxies[16][1] = 203.185.129.49;
variables.aOpenProxies[16][2] = 80;
/cfscript

But in my cfhttp i grabbed an random item from the array

cfset variables.myrandomnumber = RandRange(1,
ArrayLen(variables.aOpenProxies))
cfhttp url= method=get
proxyserver=#variables.aOpenProxies[variables.myrandomnumber][1]#
proxyport=#variables.aOpenProxies[variables.myrandomnumber][2]#

Keep in mind, what you are talking about doing is technically wrong... Using
someones data when they don't want you to is at the very least rude.

That being said, have fun

By looking up the http 1.1 header specs you can experiment with which header

Re: Faxing with CF

2008-11-18 Thread Alan Rother
Not the answer you are looking for I am sure...
The most common ways people accomplish this task are:

eFax: eFax allows you to send faxes by sending an email to a designated eFax
email address from a specified email account. When you do that, it will fax
whatever you send it to whomever you want. This is a paid service and
they charge by the page

Hardware Solutions:
There are many vendors who produce hardware that is capable of being
accessed over the network through various protocols that CF can access to
allow you to send faxes using your own phone equipment. None of these
solutions are cheap as the hardware is typically a few thousand dollars.

One vendor I have worked with:
http://www.castelle.com/

As for making the fax machine in your office do it.. That's just not going
to be simple, it most likely was not designed to accomplish this task.

Let us know if you do find a way.

Not all CGI parameters are sent within the HTTP request header, and therefore
are not manipulable from CFHTTP. The client IP is not sent as an HTTP header.
It's provided by the IP transport layer, and is not spoofable.

Your Apache server may be configured to log other values instead, but you can't
guarantee that behavior.

Also, providing HTTP headers with CFHTTP isn't spoofing, that's what any HTTP
client does.

 By looking up the http 1.1 header specs you can experiment with which

 Yes, you can, so long as they all hit the same datasource.

  Wondering if we can wrap cfc methods (with db queries) in a outer
  cftransaction?? Any comments ???

I've heard that they've added the feature enhancement in CF9 that allows
you to nest cftransactions now. So if you have already declared a
transation, and then it hits another one in the middle, it will just
ignore the inner transaction in favor of the one that's already
executing. Instead of throwing the error it throws currently. Not quite
the same thing, but it's an issue that crops up with functions.

RE: Cfhttp... Referer question

2008-11-18 Thread Dave Watts
Well, not exactly. There's a pretty specific meaning for spoofing in the
context of IP addresses. CF as an HTTP client can't spoof its IP address.
Changing HTTP request headers is generally not called spoofing, and strictly
speaking, you can't provide false data, because HTTP request headers aren't
intended to express some essential truth, but only to direct the server on how
to respond appropriately.

 Your Apache server may be configured to log other values instead, but you
 can't guarantee that behavior.

 Also, providing HTTP headers with CFHTTP isn't spoofing, that's what any

 sure can - spoofing headers is pretty easy with cfhttp.

 set header params using cfhttpparam

 cfhttpparam type=header name=host value=

 I just did an experiment and when I use that setting the request does not
 even show up in the apache logs but I still get the page requested in the

I do not know if it will work on all web servers but give it a try.

 The proxyserver attribute is your best bet. I was able to pass this.

JBoss/CF8 only listening on 127.0.0.1?

2008-11-18 Thread Dan LeGate
Hi all,

We got our first test instance of JBoss/CF8 installed, however, it can't
be accessed except at the server itself.

When I do a netstat -an, here's what I see:

tcp0  0 127.0.0.1:80
0.0.0.0:*   LISTEN

but no listener on the public IP. I found this thread:

https://cloud.prod.atl2.jboss.com/jira/browse/JBAS-6118

which (since you have to allow an SSL exception) states:

If the host name is listed in an entry of the /etc/hosts file as
127.0.0.1. For example as follows (where vm9-srv01 is the hostname):
127.0.0.1 localhost.localdomain localhost vm9-srv01
Then the EJB3 InvokerLocator server socket binds only to 127.0.0.1
regardless of what the jboss.bind.address is.
That means clients from other machines will not be able to make EJB3
calls to the server.
This issue was also discussed here for JBoss 4.2.1.GA:
http://www.jboss.com/index.html?module=bbop=viewtopicp=4098486#4098486

So we modified /etc/hosts (on RedHat) like so:

127.0.0.1   localhost.localdomain localhost
servername.company.domain servername
143.145.129.12  servername.company.domain servername

restarted JBoss but it still only listens at 127.0.0.1.

Any one else run into (or solve?) this one?

Thanks,

Dan

These three will be worth every penny.

Object Relational Mapping auto-configuration
Application Code Generation
Code assist for tags, functions, variables, and components

The way that some editors offers code assist for external libraries (Aptana)
is awesome. Having Code complete for CFC's and UDF's will be a God send. I
am hoping that the Application Code Generation includes form generation and
is configurable/or uses templates of some sort. I simply *cannot wait* to
see what the ORM features look like. I am with Wil. the wait is killing
me.

ORM would be nice since CF9 is supposed to include Hibernate.
Application code generation...maybe. Depends on how configurable it is
as there are a number of different frameworks out there. I don't think
it would work very well for Adobe to say this is the one true
framework. The rest of the description is pretty...meh.
sarcasmSyntax highlight in an IDE? Wow! /sarcasm

If this leads to a really well polished productive IDE, that's great.
But I'd expect some things from a commerical IDE that I don't see
here, like code refactoring. When I make a change to a function in one
of my cfc's, say change an argument name, I want to see everywhere in
my project that calls that function and show me where the argument
changes need to be made.

Still, I'm hopeful that this will encourage Adobe to go the route of
having a commerical IDE and a free and/or open source version of CF.

I'm not on the beta, but I'd be surprised if the code generation
features include any kind of support for frameworks other than the ones
built-in to CF like the Hibernate features and Application.cfc. It would
be nice if they were able to design an external DSL that would allow us
to add support for our own frameworks in the same sort of way that we've
been able to add support for new tags to the code hints in previous IDEs
for a while now. I can imagine a system in which we could provide an XML
file or maybe a bundle of XML and related files in a specific directory
describing how to gen code for our own framework and that would allow
the IDE to pick it up and execute the code generation for whatever we're
using personally. That may not be in Bolt or at least not yet. But I
would really expect Adobe's tools to be one way or the other either just
for the CF native features or designed to allow custom gen'ing templates.

I'd be surprised if anyone at the UPS was on this list. They don't use CF

Deleting Class Files... CFMX 6.1

2008-11-18 Thread Che Vilnonis
Are there any repurcussions for deleting class files that I should be aware
of? I have an app that has been removed from the webserver but still
generates errors because I had the Save Class Files option checked in the
admin. Will there be any problems if I delete all of them and let new ones
be generated?

Thanks, CV

CF8 with IIS and iPlanet (distributed)

2008-11-18 Thread Jeff Sittler
Hello,

I need some assistance with configuring an iPlanet server using distributed
mode to connect to a CF server already running IIS.

Here is the current setup:
Server 1 - IIS CF (used for Intranet)
Server 2 - iPlanet (used for internet) needs to connect to Server 1 to server
CF pages.

On the iPlanet server I have configured the connection using wsconfig.jar and
it appears to be connecting to Server 1 because I'm getting the Error Occurred
While Processing Request CF error screen when I try and access a .cfm from the
iPlanet server. From looking at the log files on the CF server it appears that
the connector is looking for the .cfm file in the docroot path of the iPlanet
but on the IIS server.

Here is the log message:
Nov 14, 2008 1:43 PM Error jrpp-12
File not found: /press/whatsnew.cfm The specific sequence of files
included or processed is:
D:\usr\netscape\server61sp9\docs\matsonweb\press\whatsnew.cfm''

On the iPlanet server the docroot is:
\usr\netscape\server61sp9\docs\matsonweb\

On the IIS server the root is:
D:\Intranet\docs\

The path in the above log message should be mapping to:
D:\Intranet\docs\inet\press\whatsnew.cfm

Is there a configuration that I missed?

I can post the obj.conf and magnus.conf if needed.

Thanks in advance for help with this matter.

sarcasmSyntax highlight in an IDE? Wow! /sarcasm

Hell, my Notepad replacement (Notepad++ ) does code completion and Syntax
highlighting for CF. But I suspect that being an Adobe product, Bolt will be
finely crafted piece of software worthy of the Adobe name.

But I'd expect some things from a commerical IDE that I don't see
here, like code refactoring

Ditto. Or even Open source offerings for that matter. Products like
MyEclipse, NetBeans, MS Visual Whatever, and the various PHP editors I have
used always leave me feel wanting.

 If this leads to a really well polished productive IDE, that's great.
 But I'd expect some things from a commerical IDE that I don't see

 of my cfc's, say change an argument name, I want to see everywhere in
 my project that calls that function and show me where the argument
 changes need to be made.

 Still, I'm hopeful that this will encourage Adobe to go the route of
 having a commerical IDE and a free and/or open source version of CF.

Most people don't use cfeclipse - from a recent tour of developer

Most of them either used Dreamweaver of some edition, Homesite or some
generic text editors!

Other than that I like most of the extra features cfeclipse offers, I still

Hi Rob,

That would work in this instance, but I need something a little more dynamic.
What if the dataset looked like this?

id  name  date_due  date_modified
1  Woo  1/1/2009  11/18/2008 4:55PM
1  Woo  2/1/2009  11/18/2008 5:21PM

2  Smith  1/1/2009  11/18/2008 5:02PM
2  Smith  2/1/2009  11/18/2008 5:03PM
2  Smith  3/1/2009  11/18/2008 5:04PM

Then it would bring up two records for Woo but none for Smith. I need to bring
up the latest record for Woo and the latest record for Smith. And keep in mind
that this dataset could have a hundred users listed, in which case I'd need the
latest record for each of the 100 users.

select top 2 * from tables order by date asc
should get you there.

RE: Official ColdFusion IDE announced

2008-11-18 Thread Craig Dudley
I only switched to Eclipse earlier this year, hell I was still using an ancient
copy of CF-Studio 5. I've always hated Dreamweaver for writing code and never
switched despite actually having a licensed copy on my machine for years
(though not any more).

I'm VERY glad I did finally make the switch though and it didn't take long to
get used to, a few weeks at most. Any official IDE that's based on top of
Eclipse is going to be similar in many ways, being similar in price is the only
way I'll switch to be honest.

As you say Wil, it's also great to be able to use a PC or a Mac and swap
between the two often, as I do.

Craig.

Re: (Probably) Simple SQL Question?

What database are you using? In MS SQL 2005 you can use the RANK and PARTITION
keywords:

SELECT id, name, date_due, date_modified FROM (
SELECT id, name, date_due, date_modified, RANK() OVER (PARTITION BY id ORDER BY
date_modified DESC) AS userRank FROM table
) AS t2
WHERE t2.userRank = 2
ORDER BY id, date_modified DESC

(I think the code is correct, but I've not been able to test it...)

 Actually, your suggestion wouldn't work for the first set, either, as
 it would bring up 2 records for Smith and none for Woo.

Re: (Probably) Simple SQL Question?

2008-11-18 Thread Seb Duggan
If you're not using SQL 2005, the following (slightly more complex) query
should simulate the RANK and PARTITION:

SELECT id, name, date_due, date_modified
FROM (
SELECT id, name, date_due, date_modified, (SELECT COUNT(id) FROM table T2 WHERE
T1.id = T2.id AND T2.date_modified = T1.date_modified) AS userRank
FROM table T1
) AS rankedTable
WHERE rankedTable.userRank = 2
ORDER BY id, date_modified DESC

The only caveat is that if you have two entries with exactly the same date
stamp, the ranking might be thrown off; but that's fairly unlikely...

In today's demo, support for assorted non-Adobe frameworks was

Re: CF8 with IIS and iPlanet (distributed)

2008-11-18 Thread Dave Watts
 I need some assistance with configuring an iPlanet server
 using distributed mode to connect to a CF server already
 running IIS.

 ...

 On the iPlanet server the docroot is:
 \usr\netscape\server61sp9\docs\matsonweb\

 On the IIS server the root is:
 D:\Intranet\docs\

The fact that you have IIS running is irrelevant. With distributed
mode, the webserver on one box talks to CF on the other box. You have
to use the same filesystem paths on both servers. This will be
difficult, since one is Unix and the other is Windows.

Instead of using distributed mode, you might consider using IPlanet as
a reverse proxy to talk to IIS, which would then talk to CF.

I didn't actually say most people use CFEclipse at all. I merely intimated that
anyone already using CFEclipse, would probably carry on if Bolt costs any

Re: JBoss/CF8 only listening on 127.0.0.1?

2008-11-18 Thread Dan LeGate
Doing a little digging I found that JBoss, by default, listens only on
127.0.0.1. You can send it a -b 0.0.0.0 switch on startup and it will
for connections on all IP addresses of the machine.

Now I just need to tie it to Apache... more digging. :-)

Dan LeGate wrote:
 Hi all,

 We got our first test instance of JBoss/CF8 installed, however, it can't
 be accessed except at the server itself.

 When I do a netstat -an, here's what I see:

 tcp0  0 127.0.0.1:80
 0.0.0.0:*   LISTEN

 but no listener on the public IP. I found this thread:

 https://cloud.prod.atl2.jboss.com/jira/browse/JBAS-6118

 which (since you have to allow an SSL exception) states:

 If the host name is listed in an entry of the /etc/hosts file as
 127.0.0.1. For example as follows (where vm9-srv01 is the hostname):
 127.0.0.1 localhost.localdomain localhost vm9-srv01
 Then the EJB3 InvokerLocator server socket binds only to 127.0.0.1
 regardless of what the jboss.bind.address is.
 That means clients from other machines will not be able to make EJB3
 calls to the server.
 This issue was also discussed here for JBoss 4.2.1.GA:
 http://www.jboss.com/index.html?module=bbop=viewtopicp=4098486#4098486

 So we modified /etc/hosts (on RedHat) like so:

 127.0.0.1   localhost.localdomain localhost
 servername.company.domain servername
 143.145.129.12  servername.company.domain servername

 restarted JBoss but it still only listens at 127.0.0.1.

 Any one else run into (or solve?) this one?

 Thanks,

 Dan

Re: Official ColdFusion IDE announced

2008-11-18 Thread Wil Genovese
I was just wondering if Bolt (base on Eclipse) could play nice along
side CFEclipse? That is something I will have to try. After once
you have Eclipse everything else is a plugin on top.

I also wonder if Bolt will be fairly Eclipse version independent.
That way when Eclipse upgrades we can upgrade Eclipse and put Bolt on
top. Hmmm Lots of wondering to do until I can get my copy to
play with.

 But I agree with Michael.

 When all the features and price is announced, I'll be able to check
 out the
 features.

 Ultimately, if it seems that it would be comfortable and help me
 be a
 little more productive (sometimes comfort could do that)... I
 wouldn't mind
 paying a bit.

 Nice to have choices too.

 Free is nice, but comfort is better.

 If it costs more than $0 I'll carry on using cfeclipse, as will most
 people I suspect.

 I wonder just how much the commercial release is going to cost? I
 can't see spending more than $50 for a new IDE.

Lets be blunt - Bolt is a commercial product and it will have a price tag. If
it has features you want and you think its worth it then you'll buy it. If not,
then not. No need to debate, no need to argue. Bottom line.

Re: Official ColdFusion IDE announced

I would imagine that it would act like any other Plugin. I am sure that it
would incorporate the existing feature so it would be an upgrade or you
would have to uninstall your existing Adobe CF plugin. One thing to note is
that you can right click on a file and say Edit with and chose an editor.
I often open CFM files with Aptana to work with xhtml.

They probably can't tell you about the NDA, because seeing the NDA
probably means they're in a beta, about which they can't tell you...
