Dont query all the data at all, instead provide a search form to get at specific records, which is usually much simpler thsn paging through hundreds or thousands of records. 2. Only query the primary keys, and then loop over that list grabbing x records at a time and doing a new query to get all rows for those keys. If you know you are going to have huge datasets shouldn't you also use blockfactor? my assumption is that while it might not speed things up, it's at least clearing things out of buffer while it works on more records. ~| Order the Adobe Coldfusion Anthology now! http://www.amazon.com/Adobe-Coldfusion-Anthology/dp/1430272155/?tag=houseoffusion Archive: http://www.houseoffusion.com/groups/cf-talk/message.cfm/messageid:353794 Subscription: http://www.houseoffusion.com/groups/cf-talk/subscribe.cfm Unsubscribe: http://www.houseoffusion.com/groups/cf-talk/unsubscribe.cfm

I'll try Mango and if that doesn't work out I'll probably fall back to BlogCFC. Well, that could be going further and further by the waste side with browser plugins that allow you to publish to your blog. Scribfire extension as example; http://www.scribefire.com/ I don't use a blog at the moment but I set this up with BlogCFC for a few clients, and the scribfire extension made light work of adding new content. ~| Order the Adobe Coldfusion Anthology now! http://www.amazon.com/Adobe-Coldfusion-Anthology-Michael-Dinowitz/dp/1430272155/?tag=houseoffusion Archive: http://www.houseoffusion.com/groups/cf-talk/message.cfm/messageid:335270 Subscription: http://www.houseoffusion.com/groups/cf-talk/subscribe.cfm Unsubscribe: http://www.houseoffusion.com/groups/cf-talk/unsubscribe.cfm

It's s quick to just stick it straight into the db. No kidding, I had a task that was timing out, then did some research on XML inside MS SQL, now it takes about 3 seconds if that I think it takes longer to receive the reply from the API then it does for SQL server to insert the records. Took a bit to grasp it, but wow, it's totally changed how I think about managing XML Even storing the straight XML in a column under XML data type is super cool! it creates a link in Management studio that when clicked opens the XML in a new window all color formatted and stuff. ~| Order the Adobe Coldfusion Anthology now! http://www.amazon.com/Adobe-Coldfusion-Anthology-Michael-Dinowitz/dp/1430272155/?tag=houseoffusion Archive: http://www.houseoffusion.com/groups/cf-talk/message.cfm/messageid:335220 Subscription: http://www.houseoffusion.com/groups/cf-talk/subscribe.cfm Unsubscribe: http://www.houseoffusion.com/groups/cf-talk/unsubscribe.cfm
