All,

I am looking for recommendations on a hosting provider for dedicated CF
7.0 enabled server. My budget is roughly $200/month +- $50. I am hoping
something that can support at least 25k-50k hits and outgoing emails a
day. Access to CF admin is the most important feature with the ability
to host multiple instances.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Re: CF Dedicated hosting

2006-12-11 Thread Matt Robertson
Crystaltech. Comes with shared SQL Server space, although I
personally would not use it since the point of going dedicated is to
go dedicated. CT has a $259/month server that is a dual Xeon and
priced in a tier that does not exist at CFD, and at the $400 tier you
get a 73gb RAID 5 at CT vs. CFD's simple drive config.

But really, its your traffic level that will dictate your budget
outlay. If you need more finding a different host isn't going to do
much as imho they're all pretty close to the same for the tight-budget
customer.

Of course it depends on your level and needs.

If you want to manage everything on server alone. I would suggest to get
a cheap and raliable dedicated server up to 100 USD and a CF Pro
license. This is better than having a 400 USD box.

But if you don't want to deal with installation, problems etc.it would
be not a good deal.

I pay for my dedicated box Win2003Srv Std, Opteron 146, 1 GB Ram, 2x80
GB RAID1 HDD, 1000 GB traffic, remote console etc. etc. only 49
Euro/month. :)
