Apparently Amazon received a very small initial shipment (just a couple of hundred books). But a bigger shipment is already on the way to Amazon and they should have it early next week, which means they should be shipping it out by the end of next week. Now selling copies on EBAY - $250 a copy if you want em now! just kidding of course - but still wanting to get a copy. Has anyone found a better means than waiting on Amazon or has there been a more accurate date of "on the shelves" release? Was hoping to have it last week but still not getting any dealers who say they can get it before mid month October or later. Sorry I should have mentioned that in the initial post. I got the same results which was why I was looking locally and than asked here. The local stores had the date around Oct 15th so the only thing I can gather so far is that they ship today from Publisher but warehouses wont have it ready to ship til Oct? Local Barnes and Nobles said they could preorder it and have it by Oct and that since it was classified a text book - it wasnt going to be a routinely stocked item. That may have been BS though trying to get me to pre-order cuase I know I have seen former editions on the shelves. Make sure you are talking the exact same book. For a non CF devote store clerk it may be hard to distinguish between "ColdFusion Web Application Construction Kit" and "Advanced ColdFusion Application Development".
