Actually, I had that problem before, and found the solution... - IIS Administration Service is set to restart IIS if it fails. - Since restarting IIS causes it to fail, it immediately runs the iisreset.exe program. - This causes an endless loop, which eventually crashes IIS permanently. To fix... - Change the IIS Administration Service so that it takes no action. - Set IIS (World Wide Web Publishing) Service to take it's OWN action. This doesn't cure my problem.. But will cure yours. I've been meaning to respond to the original post -- I had a similar problem on my XP Box. I originally installed a beta version of CFMX on my machine and I had installed it, but I neglected to delete the c:\Neo directory. Once I removed it and reinstalled everything is working fine now. Hi, I had this happen on our box as well. It loses connection as soon as a cfm page is attempted to be served. For me it only started happening after 1 of 2 things: a) We installed .NET FrameWork b) SP3 We are not sure which. Our MX installation was working fine. Then I installed .NET framework and didn't bother to check the server (it was a test server)...then when SP3 came out a day later, assuming that the box was working, I installed SP3. And lo and behold...this caused the problem. I tried *EVERYTHING* to solve the problem including uninstalling .NET, SP3, IIS, Reinstall CFMX etc., but no luck. So I wiped the system again, installed all patches including SP3 (not .NET), installed CFMX and we were back in business. Sorry I don't have a more fix it solution... :) And I have yet to try NET with CFMX yet...but that's my next test.
