[cfaussie] Re: Create Secured PDF Files Now !! Download free Adobe(r) Reader(r) 8 software
Spam. But CF8 will support this anyway. Of course you need the full Acrobat 7.x or later to get the full use of it (like LiveCycle Designer etc). Um and Adobe Reader is FREE at any rate. [cfaussie] Re: Coldfusion Upgrade Protection
I'm in the same boat. I had to buy CF7 last week and hoping with baited breath that the new release happens soon enough for me to qualify for an auto update. I did email and ring adobe frantically beforehand to no avail. The sales guys said they couldn't do anything as they have no release date yet. They referred me to Tim Buntels blog or the Adobe 'pre-release' forums (which I had access). Anyone recollect how long CF7 was in Beta before final release? and if anyone received a CF7 auto update...how long prior to that release did they buy? [cfaussie] Re: Coldfusion Upgrade Protection
My memory was that it never got a public beta. But was released very quickly after the private beta. I blogged 1st July, but worst case 8th August. PS: Robin's comment of being a safe bet that something will be released in two years. I don't agree, Coldfusion 7 was released in Feburary 2005 which is more than two years ago, so if you purchased a subscription with it, you wasted your money unless you purchased it 4 months or more after its release. Dale, There was from memory 2 maybe 3 release candidates before CFMX 7 was released officially, over a period of 6 months. Adobe does have a different release strategy... [cfaussie] Re: Coldfusion Upgrade Protection
Andrew, I know that, but they were private releases, ie needed to be in the beta program, couldn't just download like you can now. That's the way I remembered it, but I could be wrong. But if i'm right CF8 has gone through a lot of private beta testing already.
