@MrBuzzy: you're sessions could be different. Besides, it's not much more than what was on the wiki @Dale: IIRC it was something like 85-90% of the registrations showed up, plus a few late arrivals. [cfaussie] Re: CFCAMP Brisbane today - it was great!
CFCamp in Brisbane yesterday was a great day! Thanks to ALL those who participated. In particular, thanks to the presenters who spent so much of their own time resource preparing and for making the effort to present. Thanks to Adobe for getting behind the event and making their reps available. Thanks to the CFUG team for their great contribution. I really hope that we can make this an annual event for CF'ers. How can it be improved? * Mailout and notification could be a bit better cause the notification from Adobe didn't happen for me and many others as I understand. (Visit: www.updateadobe.com ) * Add a bit more polish to the event handling on the day (registration, name tags, starting times etc) but I guess this will improve with time. * Buscuits with the coffee... :-) Cheers, DB. --~--~-~--~~~---~--~~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups cfaussie group. [cfaussie] Re: Friday arvo O.T - thinking of giving up Apple and going back to Windows.
Apple-C is Ctrl-C Ctrl is yet another function-special key (more like the properties key, RHS on a Win keyboard) One thing I noticed when I got my Mac and then went on holidays with it for a couple of months, picking up free Wi-Fi in Amsterdam or internet cafe's all over Italy, storing and editing 6,000 photo's with iPhoto, playing music, watching movies, was how unimportant the operating system actually was, a point rammed home to me using Linux Desktop on public machines all over Finland. file system access, plug-n-play, drag'n'drop and the applications themselves and it could be a new Amiga or Apricot or BeOS or anything really - as long as it worked as I expected. but then again, I didn't need to worry about hard-core use of the video card for some Adobe apps or games ... like I do now, hence starting the thread. eh my 2c. mind you, I still reckon Windows Explorer and Search pisses all over Finder and Spotlight. Even Konqueror is better. but that's just my workflow. Perhaps the question should be how many reasons does it take to give up a Mac? In my case, sadly, just one. -- Regards, Scott Barnes http://www.mossyblog.com --~--~-~--~~~---~--~~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups cfaussie group. [cfaussie] Re: Role call: CFCAMP Melbourne
And we're done. Thanks to the organisers and presenters, it was an excellent event. I'm sure others would agree. Peter bell's talk was inspiring mark and robin's were great too. Now i'm scurrying home to rewrite my apps :) thanks to all. Hopefully it's a yearly thing, or better. Cheers. On 11/22/07, Mark Mandel [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: Arg! I better get in the shower! [cfaussie] CFCAMP Melbourne Wrapup
I can't understate the value of these events. It's a way to learn, to meet people you might know from a list, catch with regulars and engage new people. I really enjoyed all the talks, it was a good mix of both CF8 and general content. The talks were all about 45 minutes, which I think is a good length, not too long or short. I know there are a lot of sleepers on CFAUSSIE who didn't attend and you really missed out. All that were there and put your hand up that you were on CFAUSSIE. I really urge you to attend the End Of year ColdFusion User Group. Steve Mark do a stellar job putting this together, and I will be talking on CF8 Ajax features which is something every ColdFusion programmer needs to learn and use. [cfaussie] Re: CFCAMP Melbourne Wrapup
:-) I am not a big fan of the CF8 Ajax features, sure for small applications they bring some nice functionality. However the bigger problem is that the technology is based on code that is now 2 years old, and when the next version of CF is released I hope they patch this technology (minor version of course). However the binding options is extremely good:-) On 11/22/07, Dale Fraser [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: I can't understate the value of these events.
