[cfaussie] XML Import Issue
Hi guys. Got an XML import issue. I am trying to import an XML file but I'm having issues with some nodes not being defined in the XML. For example the node 'duration' may not be define for every record in the XML file. So I need to check to see if the node exists before I reference it, if it does not exist then I want to set it as null. I have tried isdefined and few other but can't seem to get the correct terminology. Code sample below cffile action=read file=d:\Data\wwwroot\misd\XML\modelbuildparms.xml variable=xmlfile cfscript xmlfile = trim(xmlfile); xmlfile = xmlparse(xmlfile); xmlsize = xmlfile.body.GetListItemsResponse.GetListItemsResult.listitems.data.XmlAttributes.ItemCount; xmlqry = QueryNew(Title, ModelPath, ModelEmailString, CubePublishPath, PPESPublishPath, ModelUserSecurity, ModelBuildExtraCommandsPre, ModelBuildExtraCommandsPost, BuildLevel, BusinessName, Duration, Keywords, NotifyStatus, MajorGrouping, MinorGrouping, ModelLabel, Frequency, Status, PrimaryMDC, ItemType, Path, UpdateTimeStamp, CreatedBy, ModifiedBy, Created, Modified, ID); QueryAddRow(xmlqry,100); for (a=1; a LTE 1; a=a+1) { QuerySetCell(xmlqry, title, xmlfile.body.GetListItemsResponse.GetListItemsResult.listitems.data.row[a].XmlAttributes.ows_Buildlevel,a); QuerySetCell(xmlqry,ModelPath, xmlfile.body.GetListItemsResponse.GetListItemsResult.listitems.data.row[a].XmlAttributes.ows_ModelPath,a); ) /cfscript In this example I need to check to see if the 'xmlfile.body.GetListItemsResponse.GetListItemsResult.listitems.data.row[a].XmlAttributes.ows_Buildlevel' node exists before I reference it. Perhaps use a try-catch statement to initialise a variable, then use it instead. e.g. try { tempTitle = xmlfile.body.GetListItemsResponse.GetListItemsResult.listitems.data.row [a].XmlAttributes.ows_Buildlevel ; } catch (Any e) { tempTitle = '' ; } On Jul 22, 8:32 am, KNOTT, Brian brian.kn...@suncorp.com.au wrote: Hi guys. [cfaussie] Attached vs. embedded (cfmail, multipart/mixed, attachments, embedded image)
I want to send a mail which has a PDF attachment and an embedded image. When I send them both with cfmailparam (with correct disposition) they arrive in the email as attachments in the body...you don't get the little email paperclip attachment icon. When I tried using mimeattach for the PDF it did work!...but the image denoted with cfmailparam also came through like that. So I looked the email headers of both and the good one was Content-Type: multipart/ mixed; while the bad one was multipart/related. So how can I make cfmailparam send it as multipart/mixed? (if that's even the right question...maybe I should stick with mimeattach and do something else?) [cfaussie] Re: Inserting Queries
The easiest way would be to loop over the initial query and either make each DB insert a new inline query, or you can make a cffunction that does the insert and call the method from the loop. eg cffunction name=insertIntoTable cfargument name=value1 / cfargument name=value2 / cfquery datasource=#getDsn()# INSERT INTO .VALUES ( #arguments.value1#, #arguments.value1#) /cfquery /cffunction cfloop query=myQuery cfset insertIntoTable(myQuery.myValue1, myQuery.myValue2) / /cfloop AD HOK CODE!! [cfaussie] Re: Inserting Queries
If your tables have some type of related index you can also use the undocumented JAVA indexOf() method of the query object. Especially if you will need to run these query's often. Ben Nadel has a case study. http://www.bennadel.com/blog/267-Ask-Ben-ColdFusion-Optimization-A-Case-Study.htm Or better yet use Ben's technique of creating Structures from querys for super fast index lookups. http://www.bennadel.com/blog/268-Structs-As-Query-Indexes-Speed-And-Rick-Osborne.htm http://www.bennadel.com/blog/268-Structs-As-Query-Indexes-Speed-And-Rick-Osborne.htmVery handy for combining query's from separate data sources. (if that's even the right question...maybe I should stick with mimeattach and do something else?) [cfaussie] Re: Melbourne CFUG Reminder : This Thursday Night
Hi Steve, I'd like to come to the meeting. As I haven't been to the meeting for a while it's my first time to the new location. Is there any parking around and any refreshment (e.g. pizza - I have to plan to come early as I live far away from the city)? Thanks, George 2009/7/21 Steve Onnis st...@cfcentral.com.au Reminding everyone that the Melbourne CFUG is this Thursday night starting at 6:30pm at 21 Victoria Street, Melbourne. Presentation on the night will be a history and overview of the Fusebox web application framework followed by a closer look at the current version (V5.5). We will look at the available resources and tools and how to get started, then take a tour of a sample application. The discussion at the end will encourage comparisons with the other popular CFML frameworks. [cfaussie] Re: OT : Free trial Coldfusion 9 hosting accounts now available
WOW! this is excellent news Steve, and good on yer for arranging this PPL if you've been keeping up with the CF9 progress and have jumped onto the public beta and have an app that you've proven that works with CF9 and have used some new CF9 features (eg the new spreadsheet or presentation functionality) and you want a platform to advertise how much of a smart cookie you are and beat the competition with a soon-to-market app using CF9 (and ya gotta admit: with a CF9 public beta released, we're probably gonna see the official full release this year) ... then Steve's offer just might be the ticket...
