IMO, FreeFTPd is one of those things that sounds great ... until you try it. My
advice, take 20 minutes and spin up a Linux distribution with OpenSSH.

What are others using for there UC backup server Application for SFTP and
FTP?

I've started a pilot with FreeFTPd but it keeps crashing and then I have to
restart it and run my backups again.

What have others had good success using?

Re: [cisco-voip] Windows SFTP / FTP server recommendations?

2015-10-29 Thread Cisco Google
Hi

Im using CoreFTP Mini SFTP-server to backup our UCM. It works but docent scale
well if you want to back up more than one application.
Im also using the FreeFTP, I was having issues with it at first but it seemed
to be a permissions issue on the actual server. Still think its bit flakey.

Cisco Recommend Titan and OpenSSH but I’ve never been able to get it to work.

[cisco-voip] CME 9.1 shared line

2015-10-29 Thread Jeremy Rogers (AM)
I have a CME with several 9971 phones that have a shared line. Internally they
use a 3 digit extension. Externally the calls hit an inbound translation to go
from a 10 digit DID to the 3 digit extension. The issue is as follows:

If I call from a cell phone to the DID, the call only rings on the SIP phone
that has that DN as line 1.
If I call internally to the 3 digit DN, it rings on all three phones.

Is this normal behavior? I've tried searching but can't find any answers.

[cisco-voip] Remote Phone Control -- Opinions

So what vendor do you use for Remote phone control?

Do you like them?

Pro's and Con's?

We have used SingleWire for the last 5 or 6 years, but they have made
their's free and not continuing support for new Models.

We are moving from 7961's to 88xx series. I have a Demo of Uplinx. It

I’ve been using Unified FX for quite some time now. The ability to see/manage
groups of phones makes it a dream for me (I manage several labs, so I have a
different use case).

It makes certain tasks very easy (like putting wallpapers on phones). You can
also use it to monitor audio and send audio (Play:AreYouThere.raw) etc.

The interface is a little sparse, but very functional.

2015-10-29 Thread Stephen Welsh
Okay, I can’t resit this one ;)

I’m sure opinions will vary based on personal taste etc., but one key point,
only PhoneView (http://www.unifiedfx.com) is Cisco Compatible (tested with
10.5, IVT testing for 11.0 will be complete shortly too) and used by Cisco
themselves including the following:

Cisco ACE team (internal Cisco IT that supports alpha clusters etc.)
CCIE Collaboration Proctors to help remotely mark your pod configuration
Cisco Devnet sandbox
Cisco TAC globally

I’m not claiming our software is flawless, but it is being used to manage
Millions of IP Phones, so we do have a few happy customers ;)

You could try a sip-profile under voice service voip to strip it out.

voice class sip-profiles 100
 request Invite sip-header Authorization remove

voice service voip
 sip
  sip-profiles 100

I've never tried this for CME messaging though. It's normally a CUBE feature.
It may still work though.

You should be able to remove the username/password under the SIP ephone
configuration for the calling phone if it's on the same subnet as CME which may
also help but doesn't help if you have those 78XX phones registering over the
WAN.

In the non-working Invite, CME is sending an Authorization header that doesn't
exist in the working case:
Authorization: Digest
username="204",realm="all",uri="sip:201@10.10.3.2>;user=phone",response="13d0e80e52a41bc8642290d5744ca66d",nonce="9D2BD5F30012BAFA",cnonce="570b883d",qop=auth,nc=0003,algorithm=MD5

This is forwarded from the incoming Invite from the 7821. I'm guessing you
have some sort of header-passthrough configured here resulting in the problem
occurring.

Re: [cisco-voip] Windows SFTP / FTP server recommendations?

2015-10-29 Thread Charles Goldsmith
I don't think this is technically SFTP as we know it in the Cisco world.
This is FTP-SSL/TLS. I have not tested it, but I don't think we can use it
to backup our UC apps.

Re: [cisco-voip] Windows SFTP / FTP server recommendations?

2015-10-29 Thread Ryan Huff
It is worth noting that SFTP and FTPS are completely different protocols.

FTPS is FTP with a control channel and opens new connections for the data
transfer. As it uses SSL, it requires a certificate.

SFTP is an extension of SSH, so it usually uses only the SSH port for both data
and control.

SSH server installations generally have SFTP support but FTPS typically needs a
supported FTP server.

Filezilla is the FTP/ SFTP server I've been rolling with for awhile.

I've started a pilot with FreeFTPd but it keeps crashing and then I have to
restart it and run my backups again.

What have others had good success using?

Thanks
