Re: [cisco-voip] UC Compatibility Matrix - 10.5.2 / 11.5

2017-08-22 Thread Lelio Fulgenzi

We investigated elm/PLM compatibility and were told that with some updates to
the elm/PLM server, you could point an 11.5 app server to a 9.x/10.x elm/PLM
server.

We're lucky to be on ELA so we decided to skip the maintenance and simply spin
up a new v11.5 PLM server. We'll retire our v9 elm server once our upgrades are
complete.

I do find it funny though that we'd have to perform maintenance on the
licensing server.

And of course, we're now moving to smart licensing in v12.

Hopefully that will be last change for a while.

Subject: [cisco-voip] UC Compatibility Matrix - 10.5.2 / 11.5

Hello,
Can anyone point me in the right direction for compatibility guides/matrix. The
newer CSR matrix is not very useful (or maybe I'm not interpreting it correctly)

Our Software versions are below.

CUCM - 10.5.2.1-5
CUPS IM - 10.5.2.22900-2
UNITY - 10.5.2.1-5
EXPRESSWAY- 8.8.1

We are planning a potential staggered upgrade to 11.5.SU2 or perhaps 11.5.SU3.
Where we would one weekend upgrade say the CUCM then next the Unity etc etc...

So wanted to know, for example if our Unity would work correctly with the new
CUCM Version and visa versa.

Many thanks

Re: [cisco-voip] UC Compatibility Matrix - 10.5.2 / 11.5

2017-08-22 Thread Lelio Fulgenzi

I have found, as others have, that you end up building your own matrix per se,
built on the release notes of each product. For the most part everything is
tied to CUCM so that's the version you tying things to.

For example, reading the unity connection release notes will tell you the
versions of cucm that connection version is compatible with. Same goes for
uccx, etc.

The second part you need to document is whether you can upgrade to that version
directly or do you need an interim upgrade. For example, if you're upgrading to
cucm to v11.5SU2/3, and your running uccx v9.0(2)SU1, you need to upgrade uccx
to v11.x but you can't get there direct, you need to upgrade to uccx v9.0(2)SU2
first. (Or something like that, but you get the picture).

I'll be building mine soon. I'm not looking forward to it. :(

[cisco-voip] Cisco MediaSense SNMP monitoring

2017-08-22 Thread Danie Du Toit (Americas)
   Hello Folks,

I see that SNMP is not supported, RTMT is preferred and one can also send
alerts/alarms to a SYSLOG server. Are there any other remote monitoring
options other than RTMT that could monitor environment, processes, thresholds,
etc.? Web/API based perhaps?

Thank you
Danie
