Converting your stove from CNG to propane is simply a matter of changing the
orfices in the burners. My new Frigidaire gas stove (in the home) actually came
with a set of each. The CNG jets were factory installed and the LPG in a
package attached to the installation instructions. The delivery people
installed the LPG jets when they installed the stove. Talk to an appliance
vendor.

I don't think I've ever heard of a CNG stove in an RV, so the lack of
information is not surprising.

Your tank and regulator should have manufacturer labels on them. See if the
manufacturer can identify the local installer for you.

The CNG system is another matter. CNG is methane gas and lighter than air so
no need for a vented locker, sensors, etc. The tank is at much higher pressures
in order to store a useful amount of gas (systems on forklift trucks can be up
to 3000 psi) and you still store a lot less fuel than in a similar size LPG
tank. There is probably an expensive two stage regulator to bring the gas
pressure down to 2-3psi. And it is hard to find anyone to fill your tank. You
might ask your municipal gas company or the local bus company if they can
either fill the tank or identify someone who can.

The benefits to CNG are that it is safer than LPG, it burns hotter so cooks
faster, and it is ridiculously inexpensive (which is why most new buses run on
it).

Re: Stus-List gel coat colour

2014-09-12 Thread PME via CnC-List
Hi,

The gelcoat on my old 1979 29-1 was an identical match to oyster white gelcoat
I purchased at Jamestown Distributors. I mixed MEKP with the gelcoat in small
batches using a 10ml and a 1ml syringe(i.e. 10 ml of gelcoat to 0.1 ml of
MEKP). This oyster white color is the same as the Awlgrip oyster white so you
may be able to find an Awlgrip color card locally to check the match.

2014-09-12 Thread Bob via CnC-List
We are purchasing a good sized motorboat and considering selling our beloved
C&C. We bought a cottage on Cayuga Lake a year ago and discovered the
"dockable" water depth would not comfortably support the 6.5 foot draft.
Leading us to decide how to cure the conflicting interests of my age and
infirmities, the allure of the cottage and the choice of three boats to use.

So my expert friends, tell me what the market is.

1982 C&C37

The good parts of it-

Repowered with a great Beta (Kubota) 25 two winters ago. Dutch Creek in
Branford CT did the $26K installation. Probably 150 hours

New UK mainsail with the slider system for the mast. Unused still in the
wrapper. Cost around $4800 this spring

New marine head in the last year.

The bad parts of it-

Needs a paint job.

Bimini and dodger are pretty marginal.

No exciting electronics

Everything else is pretty normal for the age. I suspect the market improves
early spring so we can easily wait.

Thanks

Bob

Not sure what they are asking for it but I doubt it is much.
