Stus-List Spinnikar Halyard Rigging C-2

2018-09-20 Thread John R McLaughlin via CnC-List
I know there are members on the list who have 29-2's rigged for spinnaker. How
is it rigged for the halyard at the top of the mast. Mine does not have an
internal spinnaker halyard in the mast. Is presently rigged to a block off one
of the side attachment points at the top of the mast. However, this is touchy
and can lead to some fouling and chafe problems.

Go to US Sailing. I believe the Gowrie Group is the insurance agency that
offers the group health insurance for US Sailing members. One of the criteria
for joining is that you are a cruising sailor.

Before I went on Medicare, I had my coverage there for several years.

The coverage was provided by GeoBlue – Blue Cross for the rest of the world.
Outside the US the coverage was 100% with no copay or deductibles, inside the
US it was the same plan as Blue Cross. And my cost was considerably less than
half the cost of Blue Cross individual coverage in North Carolina.

BTW, they also offer Medicare supplement plans that will provide coverage when
outside the US. I’m keeping that in mind for when I actually leave to go
cruising.

Re: Stus-List Insurance

2018-09-20 Thread Rick Brass via CnC-List

I’m keeping that in mind for when I actually leave to go
cruising.

Awlgrip has very nice color cards if you can find one. There is a hole in
the center of each color swatch. Lay the card on the paint and you'll see
the match quickly.

Defender has them for free. Perhaps a local paint shop has one.

Thanks Charlie

Persistence also was painted by a previous owner and had some touch up by the
last owner. I am hoping to find a colour match for a scratch on the side.

The topsides on Persistence have the exact same blue with red boot stripe and
gold Cove Stripe as Shadow Dancer

Stuck it with a hook and loop adhesive fastener. Left a bunch of extra wire so
I can pull it out if I defrost the cold plate with a dock hose.
I like the squirrel cage better than a typical muffin style fan.

We use a "Fridgemate" fan.  Uses a single D cell
battery that lasts the season.  Doesn't move much air but keeps
circulating the air in the ice box.  You can find them in most RV
supply stores (even Walmart at times).  We started using them in
our RV and just moved the idea over to the boat.  I have one in my
fifth wheel and one in the boat.
